Sit back, grab a hanky, and prepare to say goodbye to 'The Office' -- VIDEO

In just about 36 hours, The Office — the sitcom that made a star out of Steve Carell, brought mockumentaries and cringe humor to mainstream American TV, and largely defined NBC’s post-Friends identity — will close for good.

Naturally, this is a fairly emotional time for the series’s loyal longtime fans… but we’ve got nothing on Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, and executive producer/Cousin Mose Michael Schur, who let the anecdotes fly and the waterworks flow in this moving, 10-minute-long goodbye video. Also, the guy who played Roy is in there. Remember Roy? READ FULL STORY

Robert De Niro will make you cry, when he tears up talking 'Silver Linings Playbook': VIDEO

The men of the Oscar-nominated Silver Linings Playbook appeared on Katie Couric’s syndicated talk show Katie yesterday and discussed director David O. Russell’s very personal ties to the film. Like Bradley Cooper’s bipolar character in the novel-turned-movie, the director’s son Matthew has had the kind of mood disorder that “can pull them down the drain and send the home into a tornado in moments,” Russell said. He got emotional relaying how his son, at age 1o and 11, told him life was so hard he wasn’t sure he wanted to keep going. But it was Robert De Niro who struggled to fight back tears when the conversation turned to Russell’s son’s cameo in the film (as the nosy boy next door), and how De Niro felt an even greater responsibility starring in the movie because he understands what Russell has gone through. Watch the clip below. Russell also reveals that the scene in the movie when De Niro cries was not scripted, and that De Niro also broke down when the two initially met to talk about the script. Lazaro Arbos: Best 'American Idol' audition ever? -- TEARJERKING VIDEO

Update: Annie’s recap is live.

The only Idol audition that’s made me cry harder was Chris Medina’s from season 10. Above is the “money shot” Fox has been promoting for weeks — it’s 21-year-old ice cream scooper (!) Lazaro Arbos from Naples, Florida. Born in Cuba, his profound stutter began at age 6 and intensified after he moved to the U.S. at 10. There were times he couldn’t speak at all, and his mother had to say everything for him. Eventually, she said, “I would just say ‘Sing to me! Sing to me!'”

“Since he is always alone and has few friends,” said his father, “music is his life.” READ FULL STORY

Dierks Bentley's dog lost (and found, via Facebook!)

Here’s a feel-good Monday morning story for you. Social media has done it again: Last night, country singer Dierks Bentley sent out Twitter and Facebook flares that his dog Jake — a fan favorite thanks to his appearances in music videos, song lyrics, and album art — had jumped a fence during thunderstorms and was missing. Bentley and other concerned folks, including the president of his record label, drove around Nashville in the middle of the night looking for him to no avail. But after he’d been gone for approximately 16 hours, Jake was found by someone on Facebook who rescued him after he was almost hit by another car and promptly reunited him with Bentley (pictured, via WhoSay). Bentley wasn’t afraid to admit he got emotional. See the tweet below. READ FULL STORY
