Ellen DeGeneres gives sample 'Late Show' monologue -- VIDEO

Ellen-DeGeneres.jpg

Ellen DeGeneres may be a hilarious host for daytime TV and the Oscars — but late night? Maybe not so much.

Since David Letterman announced that he’s retiring in 2015, speculation has swirled about who might replace him on the Late Show — and Ellen’s name has always been near the top of the list. So in Thursday’s episode of Ellen, DeGeneres addresses the rumors by giving us a taste of what her late night monologues might be like. (She also kind of shut down the idea that she might take over for Dave: “I am flattered, but I really love doing my daytime show,” DeGeneres said, “But I feel like you don’t really know if you’re good until you try it.”)

Lindsay Lohan on 'Ellen': Actress talks frankly about Oprah and rehab -- VIDEO

Ellen DeGeneres usually keeps things light on her daytime talk show. But when Lindsay Lohan stops by on Monday, don’t expect many laughs.

In two clips previewing her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the conversation is much more serious than the typically playful chats on the daytime talker. That’s because Lohan’s latest project is the OWN docu-series Lindsay, which chronicles her post-rehab life in New York.

Lohan looks healthy, yet somewhat uncomfortable when the topics veer from the things that appear to be keeping her happy and sober: work and family. The exchange even turns somewhat confrontational at one point, when DeGeneres, quoting the actress, ask if she feels she’s not angry anymore. Watch it below:

President Obama talks 'Scandal,' 'House of Cards,' and healthcare on 'Ellen' -- VIDEO

Obama-on-Ellen.jpg

President Barack Obama earned two titles November 6, 2012: President, and the man behind the most re-tweeted tweet of all time. But, as we now know, Ellen DeGeneres and company broke that record at this year’s Oscars with their celeb-filled selfie that now holds that title. “I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt myself,” Obama told Ellen when she rubbed it in his face. At least he’s still President?

Obama went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode airing Thursday to continue his media tour promoting healthcare to young people — one past stop includes Zach Galifianakis’ Between Two Ferns. But Obama didn’t only talk healthcare: We also got to hear his thoughts on his two daughters getting tattoos.

Oscars 2014: Pizza guy gets a hefty tip on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' -- VIDEO

Pizza delivery guy Edgar had a good Sunday night. He got to deliver pizza to the Oscars and received a $1,000 tip. Sorry, Lupita, but it looks like Edgar was the real winner last night.

Edgar, co-owner of pizzeria Big Mama’s & Papa’s, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday to talk about his surprise visit to the Oscars. Apparently, he was told he was going to deliver pizza to some writers and was shocked when DeGeneres led him to the stage, where he looked out at the huge audience and offered an adorable “hello!”

As if going on an unexpected trip to the Oscars and getting a huge tip wasn’t enough, Edgar also got to meet his dream lady: Julia Roberts, who he served a slice of pizza to. See, kids, dreams do come true!

DeGeneres ended the interview by pulling out Pharrell’s hat filled with money and telling Edgar she ended up collecting around $600 from the audience for his tip. Then she pulled out $400 from her pocket and handed the wad of cash to a laughing Edgar. So, how do we break into the pizza delivery business?

Once upon a time, Ellen DeGeneres made a Super Bowl commercial -- VIDEO

Love sweet, sweet advertising but hate having to sit through boring old football to get to it? You’re in luck, my friend! In advance of Sunday’s big game, Super Bowl commercials keep trickling out online — including, now, Ellen DeGeneres’s fairy-tale-themed spot for Beats Music, which the comedian debuted on her talk show yesterday.

In the ad, DeGeneres plays a music-loving Goldilocks type who sneaks into the Three Bears’ chic urban apartment. Instead of sampling their porridge or rocking in their chairs, she elects to rock out to Mama, Papa, and Cool Teen Bear’s music — though each one she tries is just a little bit off. (Just go with it.) But when Ellen discovers the smooth sounds of Beats, she’s found an app that’s just right for her — which leads to a wild dance party the likes of which haven’t been seen since “What Does the Fox Say?” (or Shrek‘s DVD extras).

And then, after premiering the clip, DeGeneres gives everyone in her audience a new smartphone, just ’cause. Happily ever after indeed!

Leonardo DiCaprio casually tells Ellen about the time he almost got attacked by a shark -- VIDEO

For most people, having a close encounter with a great white shark would probably be a terrifying experience. For Leonardo DiCaprio, it seemed like just another day at work.

The Wolf of Wall Street star sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show and told the story about when DiCaprio got stuck in a cage with a shark while filming Blood Diamond back in 2006. The conversation started by talking about the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation which the actor started in 1998 to protect endangered species and their eco systems, including sharks. DiCaprio has traveled to numerous places with the organization, including Nepal looking for endangered tigers, but it was during one scuba session with sharks that things got a little choppy.

“They actually said, ‘In 30 years, this has never happened.’ The tuna kind of got stuck on the top of the cage, and the great white leapt out and tried to bite it and went into the cage with me. Half of its body was in and out and I’m flatted down at the bottom. It was this far away and it chomped a few times, but I survived it.”

Katy Perry tells 'Ellen' she and John Mayer don't speak at home -- VIDEO

There’s not a lot of “Roar”-ing in Katy Perry and John Mayer’s house.

In an interview on Ellen, Perry revealed that the pair often end up communicating through an iPad to preserve their voices. According to the singer, Mayer’s vocal cord problems have made it crucial that he not speak — or whisper — as much as possible off stage.

“I understood that he couldn’t talk, and the only way he could communicate was through an iPad,” Perry told DeGeneres in her interview (below). “Some days I have to go on complete vocal rest, like no anything, no whispering. Whispering is actually really bad. There’s just a lot of silence in our house most of the time.”

Britney Spears tells Ellen the truth about kissing Ryan Gosling -- VIDEO

Ever curious what Britney, Justin, Ryan, Christina, and the rest of the Mouseketeers did behind the scenes of The Mickey Mouse Club in the ’90s?

Well, apparently, they participated in what now can be considered the best game of spin the bottle — ever. Britney Spears dropped by Ellen to discuss her upcoming residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and her new album, Britney Jean. But she was sure to clear up any rumors about her childhood and the naughty game.

Though Ryan Gosling claimed he and Britney had kissed while playing, Britney denied it, claiming she only kissed her future ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake at the time and Gosling was just unlucky that the bottle never landed on him.

Ellen DeGeneres faces her 'SNL' impersonator, Kate McKinnon, and it's awesome -- VIDEO

Kate McKinnon’s perfect impression of Ellen DeGeneres has been a major highlight of this season of Saturday Night Live. So, when McKinnon stopped by Ellen, DeGeneres couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet her doppelganger.  Ellen handed McKinnon a new outfit and had her come back out in character.

”I will treasure this forever!” McKinnon gushed as she hurried offstage to put on her Ellen costume. When she returned later, the audience was treated to dancing (McKinnon can really get down) and chair squirming.

”I’m vegan… I’m just kidding. I’m Ellen,” McKinnon joked to huge applause. Our only question is: why did they give McKinnon jeans with a huge hole in them?

Bradley Cooper reveals his 'five nipples' to Ellen -- VIDEO

On the twelfth day of Ellen’s 12 Days of Giveaways, my true love Bradley Cooper revealed to me … his nipples.

The Silver Linings Playbook star stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday for show and tell. Last year’s Sexiest Man Alive revealed a few un-sexy traits — “five nipples” to be exact. That’s right, Cooper, who might be nabbin’ an Oscar come February, has three extra nubbins! It looks like Chandler Bing has some competition.
