'Ant-Man' casting: Who is Patrick Wilson playing? -- THEORIES

News broke yesterday that Conjuring star Patrick Wilson is in talks to join Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man, Marvel’s summer 2015 blockbuster about the little superhero with the big heart or whatever. Wilson has been on a bit of a roll lately, playing James Wan’s go-to horror guy inĀ Conjuring and the Insidiouses, but a role in Ant-Man would be a return to the blockbuster-action milieu of Watchmen (where he played a good guy) and The A-Team (where he played a bad guy). There’s no official word on who Wilson would be playing, but let’s make a few guesses here: READ FULL STORY

NYC Marathon: Pamela Anderson, Patrick Wilson, Bill Rancic, more celebs run -- PHOTOS

A record 50,740 runners showed up for Sunday’s NYC Marathon, and among those brave souls was a handful of celebrities, who took to social media to share pictures from the scene and information about the causes they were supporting.

One celeb there as a fan was Sean Penn, who sponsored five Haitian runners through his J/P Haitian Relief Organization to run their first American marathon. Last month, after returning from Port-au-Prince to watch the runners train, Penn told The Associated Press, “I love their great discipline and spirit.” Penn posed for a picture with the runners following the race:

Patrick Wilson calls 'Girls' backlash 'awful' and 'ridiculous' -- VIDEO

It has been five months, six days, and around 19 hours since HBO aired “One Man’s Trash,” a.k.a. “that episode of Girls where Patrick Wilson and Lena Dunham have all the sex” — yet somehow, we’re still talking about it.

To be more accurate: Patrick Wilson himself discussed the episode on Chelsea Lately last night, saying that he found all the chatter about “One Man’s Trash” — specifically, the chorus of people incensed by the idea that someone who looks like Wilson would hook up with someone who looks like Dunham — both “awful” and “ridiculous.”

After joking that he and the Girls multihyphenate had had “actual sex” on camera, Wilson got down to business: “It’s one thing for someone to talk about, ‘I would never believe a character like yours would do that,'” he told Handler. “But all of a sudden, people were tweeting, ‘Patrick Wilson would never have sex with this kind of woman.’ I mean, it was brutal.”

Lena Dunham doesn't get why that one 'Girls' episode made you so mad

Girls is one of those series that seems designed to provoke conversation — about whether its characters are flawed-yet-sympathetic or just deplorable, about the way it treats (or ignores) race, about whether it can even be considered a comedy anymore.

But no single episode of the show’s second season spurred more discussion than “One Man’s Trash,” a dreamy diversion that ditched most of the ensemble to focus on Hannah (series creator/writer Lena Dunham) and her surprise, two-day-long tryst with a handsome, older doctor played by Patrick Wilson. EW’s recapper Lindsey Bahr called the half-hour “the most beautiful episode of Girls that I’ve ever seen and also the most infuriating”; scads of viewers agreed, griping that a man like Wilson would never be attracted to a woman like Dunham and that the whole story played more like self-indulgent wish fulfillment than compelling TV.

Dunham herself, though, just doesn’t understand where her critics are coming from.
