In honor of March Madness, EW is launching a tournament to determine the Greatest TV Couple of All Time. But before we can finalize the brackets, we are turning to you, our hopeless TV romantic readers, to decide which five couples — all part of a love triangle on their respective shows — make it out of a qualifying round to fill the final slots. Today, we’re debating Stefan & Elena versus Damon & Elena on The Vampire Diaries.
It’s the age-old tale of two brothers, one girl, a whole lot of lust. Blood lust actually. In the Vampire Diaries world, the only thing that can come between Salvatore brothers Stefan and Damon is Mystic Falls’ very own doppelgänger, Miss Elena Gilbert. And it just so happens that between the brothers is where Elena tends to stay (and we can’t blame her). Elena has perfected the art of choosing one Salvatore, only to change her mind episodes later. To be fair, she doesn’t have an easy decision. I mean, have you seen those two?
If you have, then you should understand why we can’t choose between them. We love Damon’s blue eyes and snarky comments just as much as we love Stefan’s green eyes and brooding ways. Nina Dobrev stopped by Conan last night and proved that vampire or not, she can kick some butt.
Conan baited her by playfully saying, “I don’t mean to say the wrong thing, but you’re obviously very attractive, very talented, I just don’t see you as someone who’s like kicking ass.”
That’s when Nina called on four stuntmen — who, you know, she just has hanging around with her — to teach Conan that she’s got what it takes to play an action hero.

After hearing that 16-year-old U.S. gymnast Gabby Douglas is a huge fan of their show, the cast of The Vampire Diaries made her a video congratulating her on her team and individual all-around golds and wishing her and her teammate, Aly Raisman, good luck in today’s event finals. Nina Dobrev, a former artistic and rhythmic gymnast, was behind the group effort. “Forget sleep. It’s all about the Olympics right now. I’m obsessed. Like, it’s actually a problem. They’re starting to tell me I’m looking tired on set, and it’s because I’m up until, like, two in the morning watching the Olympics and going to work at 5 a.m.,” Dobrev told EW earlier today. “I used to be a gymnast, and I competed internationally, so it’s my favorite time. I even bought a 3D TV so that I could watch them in 3D. When I found out that Gabby liked the show, I was incredibly excited and really happy to make the video. And now we follow each other on Twitter, so we’ve been direct messaging. The 16-year-old in me wishes that I was up there with them. So I’m just so happy for her success. And she’s so cute.
