The fate of The Vampire Diaries and where the series goes from Thursday’s finale may be in the hands of executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries, but that doesn’t mean the stars of CW’s steamy vampire drama don’t have their own ideas about what they’d love to see for their characters. We caught up with TVD stars Nina Dobrev (Elena), Paul Wesley (Stefan), and Ian Somerhalder (Damon) to discuss their character wish lists for season 6. Check out what they had to say below: READ FULL STORY

There’s nothing new about using social media to make a political statement — but that doesn’t mean celebs have stopped having fun with it.
The latest trend on Instagram has celebrities posing while holding up the phrase #GetCovered to support the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a Obamacare. Vampire Diaries leading lady Nina Dobrev, however, decided to take the whole political selfie thing one step further. This yoga-lover (who’s no stranger to showing off her ridiculous figure on Twitter) shows her support for coverage by stripping down. It’s a topless political statement — which is the best kind, really.
Tonight, The Vampire Diaries returns for its fifth season (8 p.m. ET on The CW). How well do co-stars Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham know each other? We found out by playing an EW newlywed game with them on the set in Atlanta. Watch the video below, and you’ll also learn why Graham threatened to kill Dobrev. (Spoiler alert: our headline.)

Four years ago today, something supernatural happened: The Vampire Diaries premiered on The CW. And just like that, we fell into the world of Mystic Falls, Va., where the hot new guy in town had a sexy (albeit dangerous) secret, Bonnie was “psychic,” Jeremy was in his drug phase, Elena was sick of faking a smile, and no one knew what a “moonstone” was.
That, of course, would all change, just as we, the viewers, would change right along with it as TVD exposed us to countless wonderful things. Here’s our list of the 20 things we want to thank The Vampire Diaries for giving us:

The official Teen Choice surfboards have all been handed out, but after absorbing Sunday’s two-hour awards ceremony on Fox, I felt there were simply not enough awards! This year’s bonus prizes are…
A wetsuited Rebel Wilson thought it was funny there’s a group called One Direction, because “That’s also the name I gave to my asshole.” Lovely!

In honor of March Madness, EW is launching a tournament to determine the Greatest TV Couple of All Time. But before we can finalize the brackets, we are turning to you, our hopeless TV romantic readers, to decide which five couples — all part of a love triangle on their respective shows — make it out of a qualifying round to fill the final slots. Today, we’re debating Stefan & Elena versus Damon & Elena on The Vampire Diaries.
It’s the age-old tale of two brothers, one girl, a whole lot of lust. Blood lust actually. In the Vampire Diaries world, the only thing that can come between Salvatore brothers Stefan and Damon is Mystic Falls’ very own doppelgänger, Miss Elena Gilbert. And it just so happens that between the brothers is where Elena tends to stay (and we can’t blame her). Elena has perfected the art of choosing one Salvatore, only to change her mind episodes later. To be fair, she doesn’t have an easy decision. I mean, have you seen those two?
If you have, then you should understand why we can’t choose between them. We love Damon’s blue eyes and snarky comments just as much as we love Stefan’s green eyes and brooding ways. But in order to determine the Greatest TV Couple of All Time, a choice has to be made. Put yourself in Elena’s shoes: Stelena or Delena. READ FULL STORY
Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough broke up over the weekend, and boy, did people have a lot to say about it. While the longtime twosome never seemed to inspire much enthusiasm when they were together, once they broke up everyone had something to say about the man that brought us the Kardashians and the girl from Footloose. Nina Dobrev stopped by Conan last night and proved that vampire or not, she can kick some butt.
Conan baited her by playfully saying, “I don’t mean to say the wrong thing, but you’re obviously very attractive, very talented, I just don’t see you as someone who’s like kicking ass.”
That’s when Nina called on four stuntmen — who, you know, she just has hanging around with her — to teach Conan that she’s got what it takes to play an action hero.

After hearing that 16-year-old U.S. gymnast Gabby Douglas is a huge fan of their show, the cast of The Vampire Diaries made her a video congratulating her on her team and individual all-around golds and wishing her and her teammate, Aly Raisman, good luck in today’s event finals. Watch it below. (No spoilers in the comments, please!)
Nina Dobrev, a former artistic and rhythmic gymnast, was behind the group effort. “Forget sleep. It’s all about the Olympics right now. I’m obsessed. Like, it’s actually a problem. They’re starting to tell me I’m looking tired on set, and it’s because I’m up until, like, two in the morning watching the Olympics and going to work at 5 a.m.,” Dobrev told EW earlier today. “I used to be a gymnast, and I competed internationally, so it’s my favorite time. I even bought a 3D TV so that I could watch them in 3D. When I found out that Gabby liked the show, I was incredibly excited and really happy to make the video. And now we follow each other on Twitter, so we’ve been direct messaging. The 16-year-old in me wishes that I was up there with them. So I’m just so happy for her success. And she’s so cute. She has the most amazing smile.” READ FULL STORY
