Fred Willard isn't pleased with Jimmy Kimmel's proposed Redskins name change

The bottom line about the Washington Redskins, according to Jimmy Kimmel: “We got used to [the name] because it’s been around for a long time, but it’s a racial slur.” Wednesday, however, may have marked the beginning of the end. That’s when the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office canceled the team’s trademarks for being offensive to Native Americans. Naturally, the team plans to appeal the decision—but if it’s upheld, the embattled franchise could lose control of its brand.

Thankfully, Kimmel has an easy fix: Just add an “f” in front of the word “Redskins,” officially changing the team’s name to the “Fredskins.” There; that’s not offensive to anybody, right? READ FULL STORY

Fred Willard explains himself on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon': 'I did nothing wrong' -- VIDEO

“Jimmy — what do you want to talk about first?”

That’s the line that 72-year-old comedy giant Fred Willard lead with on his visit to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Thursday night. And why not — if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!

Willard, who recently lost his PBS gig after getting busted by the LAPD for a lewd public act, continued peppering his first late-night appearance since the arrest with self-deprecating one-liners.

Said the Best in Show actor, “It’s the last time I’m gonna listen to my wife when she says, ‘Why don’t you go out and see a movie?'”

“I see this one [theater],” he continued. “It had such an exotic look to it. I thought maybe there’s hula dancers in there. Maybe there’s Mai Tais!”

Willard went on to describe his time at the adult movie theater as “a trip down Alice in Wonderland and down the rabbit hole,” and joked that he was the “only awake and sober and conscious” person in the theater.

Fallon got in a few friendly jabs in himself, which lead to this amusing back-and-forth between the two:

Fred Willard breaks silence: 'Wait til u hear my version; much more PG'

By now you’ve probably heard that Best in Show beloved comedic actor Fred Willard was allegedly caught with his pants down at an adult movie theater last week, prompting undercover police officers to arrest him for lewd conduct. Subsequently, he was fired from his job hosting Market Warriors on PBS.

Up until now, Willard himself has been silent. But this morning, the actor tweeted, “Wait til u hear my version; much more PG. & my review, lousy film, but theater would make a terrific racquetball court. Full story 2 follow.”

140 characters or less, and the man still got a joke in! No word yet on what that “full story” is, but I join my colleague Ken Tucker in saying, “Free Fred!”  Willard went on to tweet a plug for the ABC show Trust Us With Your Life, which he currently hosts. “I was not fired from TUWYL so B sure 2 watch Trust Us Wtih your life Tues, ABC 9.”

Full version of events or not, one thing’s for sure — Phil Dunphy better be prepping one of his famous motivational cool dad speeches for a Very Special Episode next season of Modern Family.
