Pia Toscano isn't dating Mark Ballas (wink) and we totally believe her (wink, wink)

Ah, the old “we’re just friends” song-and-dance routine. Only this time it’s with people who do actual song and dance routines. It’s so literal!

Recently booted American Idol contestant Pia Toscano stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show (the episode airs today on NBC, check local listings) to continue her “Maybe someone will please explain to me how the hell I got kicked off?!” tour, to which host and fellow former short-lived Idol resident Ellen DeGeneres had no answers, only sympathy: “You have the most beautiful voice … I hope everybody is looking at this going, ‘We got to vote for people,’ because I think that people thought you had it made.”

But, there was a far more pressing matter at hand: Is Pia dating Dancing with the Stars‘ dancing star Mark Ballas? READ FULL STORY

Eva Longoria talks split from Tony Parker for first time: 'It was disappointing because I had such an identity in being Mrs. Parker.'

Say what you will about Piers Morgan — that he’s rude, that he’s a camera-hungry reality star, that he’s British — the man certainly doesn’t softball his interview subjects. Especially considering he’s filled the kindly Larry King’s cushy shoes, it’s hard not to be taken aback hearing the Piers Morgan Tonight host ask this of Eva Longoria concerning her quite public divorce: “Do you feel humiliated?” Speaking about her split from NBA player Tony Parker for the first time on Thursday’s show, Longoria responded: “A bit. Yeah. Mostly … because it had to play out so publicly. He’s not a bad person. He just wanted something else. And I don’t hate him for it. I really don’t.”

Morgan introduced the topic by asking Longoria, “What was it like for you when it all exploded?” Which lead the Desperate Housewives star to shed a few tears discussing the divorce. (She wouldn’t, however, discuss why exactly she split from Parker after nearly four years of marriage.) “It was heartbreaking,” she said. “It was disappointing because I had such an identity in being Mrs. Parker, and being a wife. And so when that’s taken away from you, you go, ‘Who am I?’ And that was hard.” Watch the interview below:  READ FULL STORY

Ellen DeGeneres calls out Selena Gomez on Justin Bieber fib: You 'made me a fool'

There couldn’t be more adorableness in this clip with Selena Gomez and Ellen DeGeneres if there were a dozen white, fluffy puppies making soft snoring noises on the floor in front of them.

It all starts with Ellen showing a clip from Gomez’s last appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where the pop tart diffused rumors that she was dating Justin Bieber by saying, “He’s little. He’s like my little brother.” Cut to present and a joking accusatory glance from DeGeneres. That’s about where we start building to Defcon 1 on the cuteness scale. READ FULL STORY

Liam Neeson on Natasha Richardson's death: 'It hits you in the middle of the night'

Natasha-RichardsonImage Credit: Randy Runner/WireImage.com Almost two years since the unexpected death of Natasha Richardson at age 45, after a tragic, seemingly benign skiing accident, Liam Neeson has opened up at length about his wife’s death in a candid interview appearing in the March issue of Esquire magazine.

At first, Neeson tells author Tom Chiarella he’s “too vulnerable” to talk about Richardson’s death. But a short time later, he does open up about it — in emotional detail. Neeson recounts those first moments after arriving at the Montreal hospital where Richardson was taken, and how he actually had to search to find a member of the hospital staff  who recognized him and let him in to see his wife: “This one, she says, ‘Go in that back door there.’ She points me to it. ‘Make a left. She’s in a room there.’ So I get there, just in time. And all these young doctors, who look all of eighteen years of age, they tell me the worst.” READ FULL STORY

Valentine's Day Surprise! Barbie and Ken are officially back together

One of America’s most epic romances is back on: Mattel is announcing today that, after shocking the world with their break-up in 2004 and rekindling their love on the set of last year’s blockbuster Toy Story 3, Barbie and Ken have decided to give love another chance after seven years apart. The pair’s plastic love is red-hot once again, just in time for the most romantic of holidays, Valentine’s Day. Yesterday, Barbie hinted that something might be in the works on her Facebook page with the status update: “Who knows…maybe I’ll have a Valentine this year.” Early this morning, Barbie changed her status on Facebook to “In a Relationship.”

EW called up Mattel to get a little context on the news. “They were reunited as costars, as you know, on the set of Toy Story 3,” explains Lisa McKnight, vice president of marketing at Mattel. “As we like to put it, they found they were kind of missing each other. They had a lot of fun together. Now a little time has passed since the shoot and all the premiere noise around the movie and all that good stuff, and I think they both realized that they’re made for each other.”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz to divorce. Why do some break-ups affect us more than others?

Wentz-SimpsonImage Credit: Chris Weeks/WireImage.comJust this past week alone, Jude Law and Sienna Miller ended their relationship, Terrence Howard’s wife filed for divorce, and Kelsey Grammer made moves to make his divorce with Camille Grammer official. But none of these break-ups involving high-profile stars affected us quite like the one announced today involving a pair of significantly lower-profile celebrities: As anyone who logged onto an entertainment website learned, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Pete Wentz.

Like many of you, upon hearing the news, I found myself hit with a pang of sadness. And also like many of you, I immediately found myself wondering: Why do I care? READ FULL STORY

Julianna Margulies talks meeting her lawyer husband with Ellen

margulies-ellenImage Credit: Inset: Jeff Vespa/WireImage.comJulianna Margulies won her second consecutive SAG Award for The Good Wife on Sunday night, but at least among the people I was watching the ceremony with on Twitter, her husband, Keith Lieberthal, was the topic of conversation. (Okay, we also talked about how stunning she looks in red, whether wearing a gown or a suit.) As you may recall, Margulies thanked her in-laws for raising her husband in her acceptance speech. On Tuesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, she discusses the reaction to that speech, the random way she met her husband, and why we shouldn’t objectify him. (Note: I made an effort, Julianna, by using the adjective ‘lawyer’ in the headline instead of ‘hot.’) Enjoy the preview below: READ FULL STORY

Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin break up. Who knew they were together?

culkin-kunisImage Credit: Ethan Miller/Getty ImagesThe recent announcement that Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin broke up left me stunned. Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin were going out? For eight years? How did I miss this? I read People‘s Star Tracks each week. I sneak USWeekly inside my open New Yorker when I’m trying to look smart on the train. Is it possible that my eyes saw them together in the glossy pages and my brain just refused to recognize the reality of their relationship? I mean, I understand he’s 30, but he’s also forever nine years old, due to his cheek-slapping performance in Home Alone. And if you’ve seen Black Swan, then you’ve done your own cheek-slapping about Kunis, but somehow, it’s not the same.

Did you know they were a couple for eight years? Why didn’t you tell me?

Kate Gosselin says kids not expelled, that she's in a 'weird' alternate world

Kate Gosselin says she feels like she’s in “a weird alter-reality world.” So do we, Kate, especially in this Entertainment Tonight clip where she explains that her kids are not expelled (as reported by some outlets), they’re just being tutored at home because they need breathing room — but that she’d never stop putting them on TV. Kindergarten! It’s so much tougher than a career. READ FULL STORY

Jessica Simpson's latest release: Her engagement. What should come next?

Jessica-SimpsonImage Credit: Kevork Djansezian/Getty ImagesJessica Simpson has made a thoroughly postmodern career of living her personal life for public consumption. One assumes she didn’t set out to do so, but even from the very start of her teen pop career, she was better known for her public declarations of virginity than for her music. (When’s the last time you spun “I Think I’m in Love With You” on the old iPod?) Then she finally hit superstardom as a reality star on MTV’s surprise hit Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, and all bets were off. She was so watchable as her unvarnished self that even her god-given voice would never again be able to compete with the prospect of, say, hearing her debate the difference between chicken and fish.

Now, five years, a divorce from Nick Lachey, and countless tabloid covers later, her life still trumps her work. Case in point, her announcement this week that she’s engaged to her boyfriend of five months, ex-NFL player Eric Johnson. The woman, you must admit, has an uncanny knack for timing: Not only does the surprise betrothal come just as she’s releasing a Christmas album, but also a week after ex Lachey popped the question to his longtime love, Vanessa Minnillo. Gossip blog speculation has run predictably rampant, analyzing everything from whether she bought her own ruby engagement ring to whether she’s trying to beat Lachey to the altar to whether she’s headed for financial ruin for reportedly not wanting a prenup. I choose to believe in true love and thus hope for nothing but the best from Simpson’s impending union; but if cynics were right, and this were some kind of publicity move, it would be pretty brilliant. And it wouldn’t be the first brilliant PR move from her: She turned mean media scrutiny of her weight into several magazine cover stories about body image and even a VH1 documentary show, The Price of Beauty. She cemented the media-dating-industrial-complex of John Mayer. She convinced someone a line of edible beauty products was a good idea. She designs surprisingly great, affordable shoes.

The real question: Is there any chance for her entertainment career to reflect the same brilliance at this point? READ FULL STORY
