Beyonce writes handwritten Obama endorsement and votes in style

Beyoncé was here…and she wants everyone to know it.

While her husband Jay-Z was busy performing at a rally in Ohio with President Obama (99 problems, but Mitt ain’t one), Beyoncé was busy giving her own endorsement – via a handwritten letter posted on her website.

The letter reads:

“President Obama,
Everyday we see your heart and character, inspiring all of us to give more of ourselves.
You are the leader to take us from where we are to where we need to be.
You are the reason my daughter and nephew will grow up knowing that they can truly be ANYTHING they want to be.
All my respect and adoration,
Beyoncé”

She then took the next step and actually voted, posting the above photo (glamour shot with new bangs, natch), alongside her ballot. READ FULL STORY »

Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show: Who should guest star with her?

As Beyoncé herself has now said: It’s Countdown to Touchdown.

Beyoncé will officially (via a killer image on her website) be the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVII. This isn’t Queen Bey’s first time around the biggest football event of the year – she sang the National Anthem before the game in 2004.

This is a great decision both from the Super Bowl organizer’s perspective and viewer’s: After the infamous wardrobe malfunction in 2004, the Super Bowl people (sports talk!) have played it safe with Talented Old Guy choices such as Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones. Last year, things got a little more risqué – Madonna kept things fun, but her special guest M.I.A. got some feathers ruffled with a misplaced middle finger. Beyoncé is the perfect choice: She’s “down with the young people,” but she is also the consummate professional who isn’t going to swear or do any other kind of ratings stunt. With moves like these, she has no need to.

‘Deja vu’: Is Beyonce pregnant again?

Get ready for another “Countdown”… Beyoncé may be pregnant again.

It’s hard to believe, but it was just one year ago that Beyoncé temporarily broke the Internet  — or at  least Twitter – when she showed the world she was expecting her first child. (Jay-Z’s audience reaction is still my favorite celebrity Dad moment of all time).

Now, the Internet is abuzz that Blue Ivy will be a big sister and HollywoodLife.com has the photo ”proof.” Let’s (over)analyze. The tip-off is Bey in a leopard print dress from a paparazzi shot taken Sept. 23. To my eye, the singer looks decidedly not pregnant. But! An anonymous source told HollywoodLife that Beyoncé is in fact expecting. So, case closed? (For what it’s worth, EW reached out to Beyoncé’s publicist, who did not respond.)

Once again, your life pales in comparison to Beyoncé’s, who, along with husband Jay-Z, hosted a fundraiser for Barack Obama last night.

In addition to raising money for his campaign, the event also gave us the most perfect photo of all time. “A couple supporters in a New York state of mind last night,” the Barack Obama twitter account declared.

Beyonce and Jay-Z help raise $4 million for Obama

After sitting with David Letterman yesterday, President Obama capped the evening with Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and about 100 wealthy supports who each paid $40,000 for the privilege of his company. The fundraiser, held at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club, raised approximately $4 million for the president’s re-election campaign and the Democratic Party. The president thanked his hosts and joked that Jay-Z and he have a lot in common. “We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are.”

The high-powered hip-hop couple has been public supporters of the president since 2008, with Beyoncé singing at the 2009 inauguration. Obama attended the event solo and said that his wife and two daughters were especially disappointed not to make this particular event. “Beyoncé couldn’t be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent,” he said.

Beyonce reads letter for Michelle Obama -- VIDEO

It’s official: Beyoncé is crazy in love with First Lady Michelle Obama.

Back in April, Beyoncé posted a handwritten letter to the First Lady on her Tumblr, writing that the First Lady “is the ULTIMATE example of a strong African-American woman.” At the time, Obama responded on Twitter, writing, “Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to.”

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has aligned herself with the Obamas. Last year, she helped kick off the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” initiative by (of course) dancing in a new music video.

Now — presumably with some prompting from Team Obama (as evidenced by the donation link at the end of the clip) — Beyoncé is reading the heartfelt letter on video. She says she wrote the note because she wanted Obama to know “I’m very grateful for everything she is doing for our country” and “Every time I see her she inspires me.”

She even brought up Blue Ivy! Beyoncé ends by saying, “I’m so proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.” All together now: Aww.

'People' crowns Beyonce as 'World's Most Beautiful Woman'

Music superstar and new mom Beyoncé was named World’s Most Beautiful Woman by People. The 30-year-old singer and actress, who’s been married to Jay-Z for four years, tells the magazine their baby daughter, Blue Ivy, has made all the difference. “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” she told the magazine. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

That’s not to say Beyoncé has given up her day job: she’s currently preparing for her first post-baby concerts, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. Recall that she first shared her good news with the world from the stage of last year’s MTV VMAs. Might Baby Blue make a quick cameo in Atlantic City?

Did People hit this one out of the park? In my humble opinion, Beyoncé is an all-timer.

Rumor patrol: Oprah as Blue Ivy Carter's godmother? BFF Gayle says no

Blue Ivy Carter’s birth was feted like the second coming: She had a hit single within days of her birth and became a charter member of Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club for Infants… and then the inevitable backlash began. That’s a whole lot to take in for a not-quite-three-week-old. But this train is bound for glory and shows no signs of stopping. So buck up, Blue, you’ve got a new godmother! And she’s kind of a big deal.

According to reports that surfaced yesterday, Blue Ivy’s famous parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z had tapped Oprah Winfrey to serve as godmother to the tot. Hours after the buzz reached a fever pitch, though, Winfrey’s platonic life-partner Gayle King denied the rumors while co-anchoring CBS This Morning. Said King, “It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother. She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much.” According to King, Winfrey was traveling to South Africa around the time baby Carter was born, so if she is the second-in-line for custody, spiritually speaking. “It is news to her.” See King’s full denial below. Speaking of golden globes, horse fly with shiny butt gets named after Beyonce

Let’s pretend for a quick, brilliant moment that you’re Beyonce. You’ve just given birth to your first child, who’s already breaking Billboard records and has the acceptably eccentric celebribaby name of Blue Ivy — so you’ve got that going for you. But you’re also in the middle of a bad-PR mini-scandal involving the hospital’s handling of the security surrounding the delivery of said infant, threatening to tarnish even a smidge what should be a blessed, beautiful event.

And then someone names a horse fly after you.
