'Biggest Loser 7' preview: Gonna need a little more effort from the Orange Team

Biggestloser_l Which of your New Year's resolutions will win out tonight -- Lose Some Damn Weight or Stop Watching So Much Damn Reality TV?

Tonight's premiere of The Biggest Loser: Couples proudly boasts the oldest couple ever, the youngest man ever, and the biggest woman ever. (It's probably not "ever," but I prefer to be as sensationalistic as possible when discussing a show that routinely spends nearly half a minute on various zoom-ins of every single challenge. PIZZA. FRIED CHICKEN. DUNK TANK FULL OF POPCORN BUTTER. Cue threatening Lost-esque sound effects!) Not to mention the biggest player ever. That'd be Daniel (pictured, right), who's paired with his bromeister David on the rather unfortunately hued Orange Team. Aw, they're wincing already. They have no idea what's ahead of them -- namely, the terrorizing grill of trainer Jillian Michaels warning them that the only way they'll get off that treadmill is if they die on it.

Will you tune in tonight? Or are you still full from the huge sixth-season helping of Loser that ended less than three weeks ago? You know I'll be there. I love me a good fitness-weary meltdowns. (And a delicious heap of melts.)

Tracy Ambridge Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 01:49 PM EST

I never miss a season of the Biggest Loser. I have about 80 pounds to lose myself so it really does inspire me. The cool thing is at my gym they just started a weight loss competition and I joined. That along with BL I am really excited to finally be doing this. Its been too long overdue and I just have no energy. My kids, 9 12 and 17, have never seen me healthy at a good weight. Well, they will now. Hang in there everyone who is trying, the work really does payoff.

Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 04:18 PM EST

Tara is the only one that truly seems like she wants to "be" the biggest loser. She didn't moan and groan like some... She's just ready to put in the work to get the results.

Jules Thu, Jan 8, 2009 at 10:16 PM EST

I tried to find it lastnight. I looked for 2 hours but I couldnt find out what channel it was on. I have been watching since I dont know what season. can someone tell me what channel... PLEASE???

butterfly Thu, Jan 8, 2009 at 03:54 PM EST

I was so annoyed they sent so many people home. I wish they would pick me to be in the show. But I guess I am not cute enough like Colleen from last season. But didn't *itch Heba turn out really pretty?

cheri Thu, Jan 8, 2009 at 03:52 PM EST

I hope the silver bullet team wins.

patlikespoop Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 01:59 PM EST

TARA IS JUST AS BAD AS HEBA SHE REALLY REALLY BOTHERS ME

nicki92 Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 01:58 PM EST

i agree, why would it be called couples if they split the couples up, granted it sets an example for people at home to work out and get healthy on their own. i almost cried last night, these contestants are huge and its so sad that their health it at risk

Judy Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 01:07 PM EST

I was really disappointed that the "couple thing" went away - why call it BL Couples when they were sent home. I am a faithfaul watcher but that kind of irritated me.

Brenda Tyra Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 01:07 PM EST

love the show, never miss it, but I am very upset on the turn the show did on sending people home after 1 week, you need your partner those first weeks, I hope everyone comes back and gets that 2nd chance

bigloserfan Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 01:00 PM EST

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that possibly Tara can be just another big mouth Heba?

ESTHER CLOWATER SARCHFIELD Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 10:26 AM EST

I love the show and hope to never miss an episode. I started walking 2 miles or more a day and watched what I ate, from August/08 to Dec/08 I lost 30 pounds. I fully agree with the last chance workout the day of weightin, it really works. Keep up the good work guys.

Holly Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 08:52 AM EST

Annie, TV Watch today??? Please!!!!! We have to discuss the dorky closing montage set to music of the contestants alone in their beds! Go Team Green and Brown!

Danyo Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 01:24 AM EST

Anyone know the name and artist of the song at the end of the episode on January 6, 2009? Thanks.

flivr Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 12:55 AM EST

PLEASE let them keep their shirts on and let the ladies wear tee shirts to the weigh ins also! PLEASE!!!!!!

Kat Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 11:28 PM EST

i love the contestants so far!! they seem to always support each other! thats the way it should be... the 'gameplay' and nastiness of last season really turned me off... but if they could keep this up, ill be as hooked as season 5!

i HATED the twist this week though. its too soon... week 2 or 3 would have at least allowed them the time to sweat it out a bit.. blech. can't wait till next week!!

Moxie Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 07:40 PM EST

Love. Love. LOVE The Biggest Loser!! And I got me a MAD girlcrush on Jillian. Add me to those that are hoping for a TV Watch.

Melissa Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 06:31 PM EST

I really like this show and it's great motivation for people who are trying to lose weight and jillian rocks. I joined WW through a work program about the same time when last season started. It really kept me motivated to stick with the program. I'm almost at my goal!

I agree last season's contestants were a bunch of nasties... (Vicky & Heba) and I bet they gain a bunch of weight back. I hope we don't have another one of those. It's so funny though how the country voted Heba out at the finale for the final 3. That my friends is a perfect example of Karma! What goes around comes around. And then Vicky did not win a dime. LOVE IT!

Please EW start a Biggest Loser TV watch!!

karen Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 04:00 PM EST

I am so very excited about Season 7, we just started the BL at work today, hope this season does NOT have a Vicki in the bunch. This show is the BEST motivation.

BackstrokingFly Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 03:57 PM EST

I heart Jillian.

Melissa Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 03:47 PM EST

I cant wait!!!! This is my favorite show in the whole world. My husband watches the kids on Tues evenings so I can watch it in peace and quiet!!! I hated Heba and Vicki from the begining last season. I just hated to see how damn good they looked at the finale. Wish I could do that. But they are locked up with a bunch of people doing the same thing and not living reality life. No one could do that in real life. Between work and taking care of kids...but its AWESOME to see the transformations. Very inspiring, as Im dieting right now. Cant wait for a GREAT season..its looks like it might be the best season yet

melissa Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 03:20 PM EST

I truly hope Vicki gains all of weight back. I think she is a horrible ugly person on the inside and outside.

ND Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 03:04 PM EST

I really love this show. As someone who is currently on a weight loss plan, I find that this show inspires me to continue my plan every week. I admire these people for fighting such a long, grueling battle on national television and congratulate them for all of their accomplishments. I do hope this season has more of the camaraderie of seasons past. Last season was too cliquey and cruel with Ed, Heba and Vicky.

Three levels of fat people.
1. Chunky
2. Fat
3. Oh no, it's moving!!!

jords Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 02:27 PM EST

Please, please, please...I am begging the EW gods...add the Biggest Loser to your TV Watch line-up!

If you do this for me, I promise to a.) start eating Jello and 100 calorie popcorn on a regular basis, b.) put all of my salads and veggies into ziplocs as a part of preparation and c.) forgive Bob for last season. (Mostly. Sorta. Depends on how he manages his team this time around. Can I promise to think about it?)

Lots o' love

Kiki Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:49 PM EST

Who else thinks Vicky will gain all of her weight back? All she learned was how to play a game, not how to change your life.

jones Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:26 PM EST

I also DVR and omit the commercials and filler material. It is good stuff. Hopefully, there will not be playground bullies this season (um Vicky, Brady, and Heba). I watch to see people change their lives, not tear other's down.

Donna Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:20 PM EST

This is one of the best shows ever written being that i have gained enough wieght to know be catgorized as morbidly obese this helps individuals like myself see that we are not alone even thou we see overwieght people we always feel alone and some of the contest go through the same things that we go through so i think it is a great show. Keep it coming.

Myrna Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:09 PM EST

i can't wait for this show. I've watched every season. I love 2 hour format, the challenges, the last chance work out and the weight ins. It's all great. How about a BL TV Watch?!

alina Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:08 PM EST

I absolutely love this show!!! cant wait!

alina Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:08 PM EST

I absolutely love this show!!! cant wait!

Jackie Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 12:54 PM EST

I agree -- I'm a sucker for this show even though the 2-hour format is waaaaay too long. Thanks goodness for dvr - I could never watch this show in real time.

aubreyb Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 12:44 PM EST

Plum Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 12:19 PM EST

227 Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 11:51 AM EST

Hooray Annie! Please tell me this means we'll finally have A Biggest Loser TV WATCH!!!!

Kiki Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 11:38 AM EST

I am so ready for this show! I know it's hokey, but I just love it. It's inspiring to see people who have given up learn to like and respect themselves again.

kaytlyn Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 11:04 AM EST

I can not wait to watch season seven of the biggest losser

jason. Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 09:53 AM EST

DVR-ing it is the best way to go. They really do like to stretch it out wayyyyy too much, playing the last half a minute before the commercial as the first half a minute when they come back, and an awful lot of forced suspense. If you hack out commercials and redundancies, it's probably just a bit over an hour long.
That's how I watch it, anyway, but I'll be watching Scrubs over anything else tonight.

Al Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 09:16 AM EST

Two hours is way too long for this show. The challenges are unnecessary and the weigh-in is really dragged out. I might PVR it and fast-forward to the transformation.

FabK Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 09:05 AM EST

I always get sucked into this show even though it's so overdramatic. What I really hate is the set-up commercials for stuff like 100 Calorie popcorn. It's so awkward and horrible. "After that workout I really need a snack." "Hey, did you know that popcorn only has 100 calories per serving?" "Really!?!" "Yes." "That's so satisfying. I can't believe everyone doesn't eat this stuff." puke.

kim Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 08:27 AM EST

JILLIAN ROCKS!

Janine Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 08:23 AM EST

Last season, I swore off reality television after seeing how nasty and evil people become when chasing money (ahem, Vicki). But I'm such a sucker for this show. I have to watch. I love your comment about the music. I told my husband that it always sounds like they are going into battle.
