Casting 'The Volturi' in 'New Moon,' the 'Twilight' sequel

Dec 1, 2008, 09:04 AM | by Amy Wilkinson

Categories: Film, Twilight

Chenworthgloverlee_l Now that we know the sequel to box-office smash Twilight is a go, it's time to consider casting some of the most nefarious -- and frightening -- characters of the entire series: The Volturi. Here are my picks for a few of the baddie bloodsuckers who'll be introduced in New Moon:

Jane: The only actress I want to see take on the role of the petite pain inflictor with the childlike voice is Pushing Daisies' Kristin Chenoweth. Her voice is certainly high enough, and at 4'11'', she's also short enough.

Aro: The mind-reading Volturi leader is described as having long, dark hair and translucently white skin. As much as I'd love to see True Blood's Stephen Moyer take a stab at the royal role, I'm going to think outside the coffin and offer up Crispin Glover, who has a knack for playing creepy and possesses the gaunt features you'd expect of an ancient undead.

Caius: Having perfected the role of a wise, other-worldly being sporting long white hair in The Lord of the Rings, I'm nominating British thespian Christopher Lee. Plus, he's got tons of vampire cred, having played Count Dracula more than 10 times throughout his long career.

Well those are a few of my picks for the reigning coven. Who would you cast as Jane, Aro, and Caius, Twilighters? Got any suggestions for other Volturi members, like Alec, Marcus, or Felix? All must be revealed in the comments section below!

Here's the link to the New Moon trailer.
Looks like Kristen Stewart's acting has improved slightly. That's good to see. Robert man! Dude, they need to cake more makeup on your face or something. Edward doesn't have that gray stubbly I just shaved my facial hair look. They should wax his face or something. And his chest!! Edward DEF. did NOT have a hairy chest in the books. It was def. not attractive. WAX IT!

Here in Brazil we are waiting for the production of New Moon Breaking Dawn yet and the book, and soon the waiting list is very large, on June 26?

Hugs to all

NoCapeNeeded00 Thu, May 28, 2009 at 02:53 PM EST

Yeah, she is starting young; I can't help that. My husband is going to have his hands full when she is a teenager! She has blue eyes that are so blue that the corneas are blue and curly hair that is the color of wet sand. She has something about her that draws people in, kind of like Renesme, lol. I am so proud of her and love her.

katie Tue, May 26, 2009 at 12:29 PM EST

sad news everyone who is a johnny depp fan. Johnny is not playing Aro! I know! i know! sad isn't it? some guy from underworld is playing him or soemthing. :((

BJ Mon, May 25, 2009 at 08:24 PM EST

Well, people looking at it was the point, but if you don't feel comfortable, that's cool too.

Learning young? lol You're probably going to have a hand full when she gets old enough to have a boyfriend. lol

NoCapeNeeded00 Mon, May 25, 2009 at 02:43 PM EST

Yes, I had a baby. He is my second one. My first one is 3 and her name is Lana. Thank you for the congrats! I appreciate it! Lana loves Twilight too. I have read it to her. She sees a poster of Robert Pattinson and she points and says, "Wow, He is sexy, Mom". She is learning young lol. I have heard that there is a Robert Pattinson novel out. Has anyone else heard that? I am going to do some searching to see what I find. Oh, yeah I will post a picture of me as soon as I can. Bye all.

Nessie Sun, May 24, 2009 at 11:01 AM EST

You had a son? Like, a baby? Wow! Congradulations!

NoCapeNeeded00 Sat, May 23, 2009 at 01:17 PM EST

Sorry I have been gone so long. I had my son, Lucas Eziekial Chase (Ziek) April 27. Anyway, I watched Underworld Rise of the Lycans and I really think Michael Sheen is going to be a good Aro. He is a very great actor, and I am glad that they went with him to fill the mind-reader's role.
Yes, BJ you are very pretty and would be a good Kebi!
Take care all! ^,..,^

Nessie Fri, May 22, 2009 at 03:54 PM EST

I think I'll pass. I just don't like the thought of a piture of me being on the INTERNET. I mean, anyone could look at it.

BJ Wed, May 20, 2009 at 05:13 PM EST

:) thank you

Ok, everybody elses' turn!

Nessie Tue, May 19, 2009 at 11:21 AM EST

omg!! Is that you, BJ? You are stunning! I wish I looked like you. You would make a totally perfect Kebi.

BJ Mon, May 18, 2009 at 02:29 AM EST

hmmm, that didn't work. how about

BJ Mon, May 18, 2009 at 02:28 AM EST

I dunno, what do you guys think?
How about Emily, Angela, Kebi or Tia (minus the whole unbelievably beautiful part). Filipino can kind of pass for Egyptian right? lol

BJ Mon, May 18, 2009 at 02:17 AM EST

Actually, you know what I think would be fun?
If we all linked our pictures, and say which character we would do best (in terms of looks etc.). Like what the Sarah D. person did.

BJ Mon, May 18, 2009 at 02:15 AM EST

Maybe you need to link a better picture. No offense, but I don't see it.

Nessie Fri, May 15, 2009 at 12:30 PM EST

umm.... yeah....

Sarah D Mon, May 11, 2009 at 05:02 PM EST

You wanna know what's funny? My friends and I think that I should play Jane (NOT Dakota Fanning >=P) I fit the description pretty well =)I'm 5'2" and have a childish voice. My hair is the right color (NOT like hers) and I fit the description, being known amongst my friends as the vicious one. I think they should have looked around a bit before finding a person to take the role *cough* I don't like Dakota Fanning.
This is a picture of what I'd be if I was Jane:
http://i450.photobucket.com/albums/qq226/manafione/021.jpg
there. For all you non-believers. My friends tell me I do a good job being creepy.

Totall Truth Sun, May 10, 2009 at 07:19 PM EST

Dakota Fanning Is One Of The Vultei Like Wow Lol The Others Cast In I Can See It Happening Like Erm The Dude Out Of Frost/Nixon And He Played Tony Blair In The Queen He's One Too

Nessie Fri, May 1, 2009 at 05:03 PM EST

Cate Blanchett would be good as Irina.

Nessie Fri, May 1, 2009 at 05:01 PM EST

hehe! Yeah, Johnny is VERY VERY sexy. I am toatally in love with him.
I like Gary Oldman too. He played Dracula in a film with Winona Ryder. I haven't seen it but its ment to be really good.
I think Cate Blanchett would make a good vampire. Theres alot of actors and actresses who would make good vampires.
I just saw a piture of the werewolve tribe....HOT..HOT..HOT.. At least they made a good job at casting them!!

Shandan Fri, May 1, 2009 at 12:01 PM EST

does anyone else think that Robert pattenson look almost like James deans twin? Some of the pictures I've seen make me wonder.
shandanleanne@yahoo.com

Shandan Fri, May 1, 2009 at 11:53 AM EST

I think Jhonny Depp is VERY sexy! and he would make a great vampire no matter who's part he played. I also like Robert Downey Jr.! I think he could make a pretty good vamp too! There are a lot of actors that would make good vampires, but not necesarily Stephanie Meyers' vampires...It would be neat to see Morgan Freeman in a vampire roll (But not in the Twilight movies.)

BJ Thu, Apr 30, 2009 at 12:54 PM EST

I really like Gary Oldman as Sirius Black, but if there were to be someone else to play the part, I think Johnny D. would've made a really good Sirius Black.

Nessie Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 10:59 AM EST

Wow, Esme!! Your amazing. Its nice to finally have someone in the JD club. Public Enemies is out SOON!!!
Anyway...
Whats your peoples favorite bit in the Twilight movie? I love the bit when their playing baseball.
I think my favorite qoute from the movie is:
Isabella Swan: Are you going to tell me how you stopped the van?
Edward Cullen: Yeah. Um... I had an adrenaline rush. It's very common. You can Google it.
hehe. lol.

Esme! Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 05:07 PM EST

thank you,Nessie! you told these people, now I'm gonna tell them,JOHNNY DEPP AS ARO! ALWAYS! HE'S SO HOTTTT!!:))

Esme! Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 04:57 PM EST

ome! the stalker guy from sweeney todd is gonna be a member of the Volturi!? wow..he's pretty hot though..Caius is it?

Rosalie Mon, Apr 27, 2009 at 12:06 PM EST

THANKS SHANDAN!!

Shandan Mon, Apr 27, 2009 at 12:04 PM EST

Welcome to this forum Rosalie!

Rosalie Mon, Apr 27, 2009 at 12:01 PM EST

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!! HI! I AM ROSALIE! AND I LOVE TWILIGHT! THERE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY KEYBOARD EVERYTHING IS IN CAPS! ANYWAY I WAS READING WHAT YOU ALL ROTE! I HAVE READ A HUNTERS VENDETTA TOO! IM IN A BOOK CRITIQUE ORGANIZATION> IT PASSED THROUGH AND I DO AGREE THAT IT HAS MAJOR POTENTIAL> I BELIEVE TWILIGHT FANS WOULD REALLY ENJOY IT IF IT GETS PULISHED! IT WAS VERY INTERESTING AND I WOULD MOST DEFINITELY RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE THAT LIKES ROMANCE>ACTION>AND MOST IMPORTANTLY>VAMPIRES!!!!!!!!!!!

Shandan Mon, Apr 27, 2009 at 11:52 AM EST

I know that there weren't very many effects in Twilight, so I'm hoping they don't slack off when they make the wolves! They would be better off using real wolves and making them looke larger, which is probably what they'll do. I like the the actors they've picked to be the wolves! They're hott! And the actress that they got to be Emily... She is REALLY pretty, I'm just not sure that she should be THAT pretty. Did any of you think that New Moon was the most difficult book to endure? I found it to be excruciating! All that anticipation! Ugh! It almost killed me! I couldn't stop reading! It was like...if I put the book down while Edward was still away he would never come back.It was physically painful! I finished in 2 days. Oh and I'm from Indiana! Where are you from Alice? And how old? I'm sorry that no one ever welcomed you. It may not be any consolation but...WELCOME to this forum Alice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Nessie Sun, Apr 26, 2009 at 04:31 AM EST

I wonder what the wolfs will look like in New Moon...

Alice Cullen Sun, Apr 26, 2009 at 12:33 AM EST

hmm...I'm watching a thing on New Moon...

Nessie Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 05:33 PM EST

Sounds deep.

BJ Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 04:55 PM EST

He also directed a movie called Hard Candy. It's about this girl (the one girl in Juno) who does the "To Catch a Predator" thing, only in the end she convinces the guy (the guy who plays Raul in Phantom of the Opera) to kill himself.

BJ Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 10:22 AM EST

So the director for Eclipse is official:

LOS ANGELES – The "Twilight" movie franchise is getting its third director.

Summit Entertainment said Thursday that David Slade has been tapped to direct "Eclipse," the third film in the series based on the Stephenie Meyer's best-selling vampire books. Slade has bloodsucking experience: His credits include the 2007 horror "30 Days of Night" about an Alaskan town plagued by vampires.

Last year's original "Twilight" film starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson and was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and grossed over $350 million worldwide.

"New Moon," the second "Twilight" film, is currently in production and is being directed by Chris Weitz.

"New Moon" is scheduled for release Nov. 20. "Eclipse" is set to dawn June 30, 2010.

I watching 30 days of night right now on youtube, and so far it's not bad. It has Josh Hartnett in it.

Nessie Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 05:06 AM EST

I think i'm quite happy with the new moon cast.
If you type in NEW MOON FILM in wikipedia, it will tell you the whole cast.

Nessie Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 05:03 AM EST

Thanks, Bj. You rock.
Yeah, I was wondering, do you guys live in america? I live in britain.
I read the book atonement and the lovely bones. You may have heard of the lovely bones if you live in america but i'm not sure about atonement. Atonement is set in WW2. It's about a girl who ruins the life of her sister and her sisters lover, just by telling a lie. It really is good and you don't really see the rape part in the film.
But in the lovely bones book, the rape scene is really terrible.
I would deffinatley reccomend Atonement.

NoCapeNeeded00 Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 01:30 AM EST

I am glad that there is no more conflict. Nessie, I came down on you because you came after BJ and Alice. They are both awesome and it made me mad that you said what you said about them. BJ, I hope your headache becomes better. (Shut all the lights and anything that makes noise) Hopefully that makes it better. Well everyone take care!

Alice Cullen Sat, Apr 25, 2009 at 12:49 AM EST

It's nice that we aren't fighting anymore, Nessie. I hate fighting with people on forums, its kinda off topic...You're welcome Shandon, no one said welcome when I started in like december...sheesh...lol...anyone have any actor ideas for the "unknown" volturi? Well, not unknown, but in the background (e.g. Renata)I think Bonnie Wright should play her :P

BJ Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 08:32 PM EST

Aside from having a horrid headache, having to finish a design document for my cs 163 program, and missing my bf who is all the way on the east coast until wed. visiting his parents; I'm absolutely fine. Thanks you asking. :)

if you go to http://www.quizilla.com/user/OriginOfSpecies/profile/
And read the stories He's Watching You, I think you guys might enjoy it. I read these about 5-6 years ago and really enjoyed them. They're a little more mature though. A few rape scenes, so maybe don't read it if you can't handle it (I just can't handle watching movies with it).

Nessie Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 12:30 PM EST

your so sweet, Alice! Thanks!
You alright Bj?? I relly hope we can be friends.
Theres a pitcure of a little girl as renesme. She has rosey cheeks, her mouth is open and she is looking up.
Anyone seen that? She would be good.

Nessie Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 12:21 PM EST

You are so sweet, Alice! Thanks.
You ok, BJ? I really hope me and you can be friends.
I finished Breaking Dawn not that long ago and now I don't know what to read!! After reading Stephanie Meyers books, every other book I pick up just looks really rubbish.
Annyone know any good books???

Shandan Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 12:11 PM EST

Oh, and thank you Alice! It's very nice to be welcomed! I agree. If only the girls in the pics could act, I'm sure it would be easy to find the right Renesmee!

Shandan Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 12:11 PM EST

Shandan Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 12:05 PM EST

If they want to close the forum, just give eachother your e-mail adresses. Keep on talking, and without all the interference from people you don't actually want to talk to. Just a suggestion. So if anyone wants to talk vampires- Stephanie Meyers or others- My e-mail is shandanleanne@yahoo.com

Shandan Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 12:01 PM EST

Can you imagine how famous this girl will be if she turns out to be as good a writer as Stephanie Meyer? And at only 16? Shandan's vampires appeal very much to what makes me want to read. It would be absolutely fantastic if she were to make the best seller's list! I'm counting on her. And even if she doesn't, I'll still buy her book! For all you vampire lovers, I tell you to keep an eye out for her name! House of Night is good too, but I think it strays too far from the traditional vampire. Whatever, it was still a great read!

Shandan Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 11:55 AM EST

What other books are you interested in? I own quite a few vampire books, I've been collecting them for a very long time. Stephanie Meyer is right up there with Anne Rice and Bram stoker! (Though Stoker's version of the vampire was totally unappealing! But he was a good writer and that's why he's famous!) If you love vampire books I would consider reading the
House of Night novels by Kristin and P.C. Cast! Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed and Hunted! Amazing books! And, my friends one of my favorites-who I believe is just as good as Stephanie Meyer-Is Shandan Leanne's book A Hunters Vendetta!(Yes that is who's name I am using ) She hasn't even published her book yet and already I'm in love! She is only 16 and has already wrote her first book and I just know it's going to be a best seller! She sent it to my best friends father to edit and I had the chance to read it. As soon as it comes out I will be the first one to buy it!

BJ Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 11:16 PM EST

I don't see why they would, if people are still posting stuff. Maybe if it was inactive for awhile.

Alice Cullen Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 10:37 PM EST

OMG! Ae they gonna close this forum now that the Volturi are casted?!?!

Alice Cullen Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 10:33 PM EST

Oh, and BJ? I feel the same about the Volturi. I pictured them pretty old, and a lot of people say they're young...Micheal is exactly how I pictured Aro, its crazy...and Shandon, welcome to the forum! Lol...yeah, I've seen pics of little girls that people label as Nessie, and I think that they're perfect. There's one little girl I've seen in multiple places, and I think if she can act, she should play her! :)

Alice Cullen Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 10:27 PM EST

Of course I forgive you Nessie! It might have seemed like I call people stupid to you, because we have never talked directly before. :) Thanks for saying I'm like Alice :) A lot of my friends say I'm like her, too...Yeah, I'm pretty okay with Noot as Heidi, but it would have been cool if they used Rob's sister, Lizzy, I've only seen a few pics and I don't know if she can act...but, w/e, Noot is better than Annalynne...I'm not sure if anyone said this, but Annalynne was originally supposed to be Rosalie, but she was busy doing Nip/Tuck...

Oh, and Nessie? You're not stupid either :P

BJ Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 01:19 PM EST

female.
I agree. i've always pictured the 3 volturi leaders to be older, but I think they're young (maybe not necessarily good looking).
But refer to the post on Thu, Apr 9, 2009 at 12:22 PM EST
and I explain why. use CTRL + f, it'll be quicker than trying to scroll down and find it.

Shandan Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 12:02 PM EST

Another personal question...BJ, are you male or female? I do not mean to offend, but I am finding it difficult to place you. You haven't really said anything that points to either. I read further down and someone was complaining about the volturi being too old. I like that they cast older actors for the three volturi. It adds to the sense of reality. If it were cast completely with youg, hot actors it wouldn't seem like the book. I believe they did the right thing by casting Caius, Marcus, and Aro as older gentleman. It sticks closely to the characters that Stephanie created them to be! I think that Jane should have either been closer to a child or a young adult, but Dakota Fanning is in that stage between child and adult, she doesn't even really look like a teen. Maybe it's because she's so skinny. (And I'm already accustomed to seeing her in child movies like Charlotte's Webb.) It's harder to see her as the Jane type when I'm used to her kiddish roles.

Shandan Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 12:02 PM EST

Shandan Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 11:47 AM EST

Who do you think they will cast as Renesme in Breaking Dawn? I've seen some post's that people have put of their own little girls and there is one that looks EXACTLY how I imagined Renesme! I wonder if they'll be able to find someone perfect enough (and young enough) for that role! I really hope they don't change too much. Why tweek the storyline when it's already perfect? I really wish they'd take a little more time. It would be worth the wait! And may I ask why everyone seems so disagreeable? I may be wrong, but there seems to be some sort of conflict here. (just wondering) I've read some of what you have all written, I find you all very interesting.

Nessie Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 10:58 AM EST

(*sigh*)
Oh, BJ..... Can't you just let it GO?
Christopher Heyerdahl has been cast as Marcus.

BJ Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 07:01 PM EST

Ha! You're the one that keeps attacking me. I just disagree with yours/or someone elses opinions and you tell me to stfu and I'm stupid because I don't agree with something you agree with. Which is the mark of a younger less mature person, so I supposed I understand. I was that way too.
In the words of Albus Dumbledore "Youth cannot know how age thinks and feels. But old men are guilty if they forget what it was to be young...and I seem to have forgotten lately."
and
"Ah, Harry, how often this happens, even between the best of friends! Each of us believes that what he has to say is much more important than anything the other might have to contribute!"

Have they not casted Marcus yet, anyone know?

Nessie Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 01:06 PM EST

Jodelle Ferland would have been perfect as Jane. I think having a younger actress is ok.
Cameron Bright will be good.

Shandan Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 12:08 PM EST

Did Jacob turn out anything like you thought he would? I guess he works, but I expected him to be...wel...MORE.
I agree with Ms sexy, definitely a rush job! if they'd take a little more time on it I know it would be fantastic!

Shandan Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 12:02 PM EST

I like that the Cameron is going to be Alec, I pictured Alec as a little sweeter-looking then Jane. I don't really think Dakota Fanning is right for Jane. Jane definitley should have been an older actress.

Shandan Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 11:56 AM EST

I think noote would make a good Heidi but she isn't one of the main characters so I'm not as interested in her as I am with the rest!

Shandan Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 11:53 AM EST

I read all of the books when they first came out and just like most people that have read them, I loved then right away! But the first movie did not live up to the book and I really hope that NEW MOON and the rest are a whole lot better thn the first! The actors are great! The story is perfect! Now all they need is someone who wants the movie to be as good as the book!!!!!

Nessie Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 11:50 AM EST

What do you guys think of Noot Seear as Heidi???

Nessie Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 11:46 AM EST

i agree with BJ...i don't think New Moon is going to be like the book at all.i think they are going to do a half azz job!!!!

first of all, they are making this movie within 7 months... my opinion, i think its a rush job. if you going to make a movie right, they should do it like the book. i mean look how long it took to make harry potter and that movie there is perfect!

NoCapeNeeded00 Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 12:07 AM EST

OK give me a minute, *rolls around on the floor laughing*. Nessie, I think that you want everyone to agree with you out of submission or being afraid of you! Earlier I wrote three continuing paragraphs expressing my opinion. Yeah, I am so afraid to express it! Scared that BJ and Alice will do what? Tell me my opinions stink and that I shouldn't say anything. BOO HOO! That was what I was trying to explain to you earlier. Alice, BJ, and I have different aspects on things. Sometimes our opinions are close and sometimes they aren't however we manage to be respectful. Nobody is going to absolutely agree with another person on everything. And you want to know what? THAT IS OK! I think it is fun when people have different opinions than me. I like for people to express themselves and hear why they feel that way.
Furthermore, Nessie you are the first person to name call and the first person to not like someone because of their opinion. I still think that you are the one is who is scared.

BJ Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 06:29 PM EST

What the HELL is WRONG with you people?!!!! Nothing is wrong with us people.

Your Scared, thats what it is! Scared to make you own opinions, cause you think someone, like BJ or Alice is just gonna tell you your stupid.

That makes no sense, because I or Alice haven't called anyone stupid on this forum. And noone so far has held back any opinions.

Well, I don't care! Obviously you do.

I like being my own person. I don't care what people think and I don't do things that other people want me to do.
Good for you!

And I don't suck up to pair of stupid losers.
See, now you're the only one so far that has been calling people stupid.

Get a Grip!! on what? lol

Nessie, I've never called you stupid, I think you have great opinions, and I'm sorry if it came across like that. Forgive me?

Nessie Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 12:55 PM EST

play every upcoming role that she/he is excited about. I would have liked to have seen Jonathan Rhys Meyers play Aro, he isn't but I am just as excited about Michael Sheen! Tell BJ to quit being so negative! Look who's talking! Tell BJ and Alice to quit acting like they own the place! Again look into the mirror and think about who put people on the defensive. Take a chill pill.

Oh, and one more thing, Cameron Bright all the way! I thought he would do a good job! That is awesome he got the role and even though I didn't want Dakota as Jane (he would have complimented Jodelle well also) I think that they are going to be great together!

NoCapeNeeded00 Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 10:41 AM EST

book lovers to throw stones at my house. BJ isn't being negative. These books are amazing and she simply wanted the movies to be that too. I hope that New Moon will be great! I think that they have done a good job casting. A good array of ages and bigger actors and smaller actors. They need all to make this work. I hope they do a good job. We do need to stay positive. But that is me I am the eternal optimist.
Nessie, BJ and Alice do not act like they own the forum. The three of us have different opinions, and yet we have managed to not step on each other's toes. There is a way to disagree with someone and not who they are. Your comments however are slanderous to both Alice and BJ because their opinion differs from yours. You were the first one to throw down the gauntlet and say, I don't like you because you don't want johnny depp to play Aro. C'mon on grow up! This website is a place for us to voice our opinions, and not be insulted by somebody who just wants her favorite actor to

NoCapeNeeded00 Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 10:25 AM EST

I agree with BJ on this one. I do think that the movie should have been closer to the book. There are some scenes that however small or large that give insights to the development of the characters. I mean I will ask people who have just seen the movie and they say, "I really liked it." or some variation of it, but I ask people who have both read the book and watched the movie and they kinda shrug their shoulders and say "Eh, it was ok." My opinion is that it could have been better, however they aren't going to be able to pull off perfection, or maybe they don't want to. The screenwriters, directors and such are screwed either way. If they make the movie too close to the book then they lack imagination on their own part, but if they stray too far from the book it makes we fans of the book really to light our torches. If it were me in the director's/ screenwriter's chair, I would sacrifice my own imagination because someone already used theirs and I really don't wanna think of crazy

Nessie Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 04:56 AM EST

What the HELL???!!!? Oh, so you think your the boss of this place??! Well, NEWS FLASH!! YOUR NOT!!! If you two have a problem with the rest of us having our own opinions then then you can both get LOST!!

Alice Cullen Sat, Apr 18, 2009 at 08:47 PM EST

okay, Nessie, I know I've been gone for a while, but you don't own this place. Be nice to BJ.
BJ MUST READ!!! (I know you like HP!!!)
The guy playing Caius (Jamie) is also playing Gellert Grindelwald

BJ Sat, Apr 18, 2009 at 12:10 PM EST

I demand perfection and that is what everybody including the production company should strive for. Wouldn't you? You love the books don't you? You love the books and its characters and their stories? Don't you want them to get it right as much as possible?

I'm not negative about everything in the movie. I've said some positive things.

BJ Sat, Apr 18, 2009 at 12:04 PM EST

Hey! If you're not going to do it right, then why even do it at all? Every time something is the slightest bit different from the book, it's an insult to Stephenie Meyer, the characters of the book, and me and you not too mention a disappointment.
How did you feel when they cut out the blood typing scene?? How about when they cut out the meadow scene and replaced it with that stupid thing instead that never even happened. or How about when Edward saves Bella from the would be rapists and she tells him in the car she knows what he is but it doesn't matter to her (b/c she loves him). They never even say I love you in the movie (big oops!!). How do you feel when they cast someone, who doesn't even come close to fitting the description in the book? How do you feel when they rush trying to get the movie out sooner, so they can make a buck and the acting is poorly done because of it? All those things, I felt a since of loss each time. I love the books to death and they've ruined it.

Nessie Sat, Apr 18, 2009 at 04:05 AM EST

ohh, for god's sake, BJ!!??! Do you have to disagree with everything???! Can't you just enjoy things instead of being so negative all the time?? Ok, so the movies aren't as great as the books but I mean lighten up!!!
Geeez!

BJ Fri, Apr 17, 2009 at 12:15 PM EST

I have a feeling that this movie is going to suck just as much as the first one did. :(

Nessie Fri, Apr 17, 2009 at 11:08 AM EST
