Who is your favorite 'SNL' politician?

Oct 6, 2008, 11:09 AM | by Amy Wilkinson

Categories: Politics as Entertainment, Saturday Night Live

Snlwillferrell_l After watching last week's debate, I couldn't help but wonder how much more awesome the VP verbal tango would have been if the real Alaskan governor had been replaced by everyone's favorite funny lady Tina Fey. Well, I sure didn't have to wait long to find out. Saturday Night Live answered my prayers this weekend, sending up the debate in its opening sketch, which featured  Fey, Jason Sudeikis as Joe Biden, and Queen Latifah as debate moderator Gwen Ifill. My favorite part of the clip below? When Fey whips out a flute and asks, "Are we not doing the talent portion?" (And that's not just because I'm a former flautist.)

Fey’s obviously hit comedic paydirt with her spot-on impersonation of the pol, but as much as I love me some updoed, skirt-suited Tina, I can’t help but pine for the days when Will Ferrell brought down the White house on SNL as a bumbling version of our current Commander in Chief. I’ll always remember those squinty eyes, that Texas drawl, and all of that well-thunk strategery. SNL has had its fair share of great (Fey as Palin, Ferrell as both Bush and Janet Reno, Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton) and not so-great (Fred Armisen as Barack Obama) political impersonators. Time for you to cast your vote, PopWatchers. What's your favorite political impersonation in SNL history? (And what did you think of this weekend's opening sketch?)

This is Bob Dole's peanut butter!

David Sun, Oct 19, 2008 at 07:32 PM EST

Hands down, Norm Macdonald's Bob Dole on "The Real World." When he pushed the kids out the chair, "This is Bob Dole's chair" I was on the floor.

Raven_Moon Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 05:21 PM EST

Tine Fey is hilarious! My other faves are probably Dana Carvey as Bush Sr., & Will Ferrell as W.

Moo Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 10:57 AM EST

Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton and Will Ferrell's W ROCK!

tony Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 08:13 PM EST

Um Chevy Chase....Gerald Ford. Started it all baby. oh and Carvey and Hartmen doing Perot and the Admiral. "Im hungry!"

queen of disrepair Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 08:01 PM EST

there is also a classic sketch of Phil Hartman as Reagan. In public he's Mr. Golly Gee but in private he's kicking everyone's ttail, speaking several languages and complaining about having to do everything around here.

Diane Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 01:24 PM EST

I appreciated all the other great political impressions (Phil Hartman as Clinton and Dana Carvey as Bush Sr. are two of my favorites) but Tina Fey as Palin has turned Saturday Night Live into Must See TV for the first time in years.

Rahul Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 01:12 PM EST

Phil Hartman's Bill Clinton was the best. I love the McDonalds-Jogging skit.

queen of disrepair Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:52 PM EST

I've always loved the Hartman/Clinton sketches (

queen of disrepair Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:52 PM EST

I've always loved the Hartman/Clinton sketches (

Sabrina Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:29 PM EST

Tina Fey *IS* Sarah Palin. (So sorry, Tina...) But seriously, I know I'm not the only one who turns on the news and has to take a second to sort out whether CNN is showing Palin footage or SNL footage. And Will Ferrell was of course brilliant as W.

Riley Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:18 PM EST

Phil was the BEST Clinton!! That skit where he played Clinton going into a McDonalds- that was classic!!

Hammond playing Cheny was one of my favs too- especially when he did Cheny's creepy smile!

Harvy playing Ross Perot was just brilliant- he had that guy dead on!

Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:14 PM EST

Dana Carvey as Ross Perot!!!! Duh!

Lynn Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:05 PM EST

Phil will never be forgotten - he could do anything. Hammond can be ANYONE. Love his Clinton and Cheney. Tina is excellent as Palin, and also Amy as Hillary. They are ALL SO TALENTED!!!!

Belle Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:04 PM EST

I miss Phil Hartman too and loved his Bill Clinton (especially the scene in McDonalds). Darrell Hammond’s Clinton is funny too and spot on. The current actor who is doing W. Bush is awful! He needs to be impeached. No one can touch Will Ferrell’s W nor his Janet Reno too. Dan Aykroyd's Bob Dole was pretty funny. Amy Poheler as Hillary was funny. Tina Fey is too funny doing Palin. They need a skit in a “war room” with Hammond’s Clinton, Carvey’s Bush, Will’s Bush, Amy’s Hillary and Tina Fey as Palin. That would be hilarious.

Kerri Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 11:57 AM EST

Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton (in McDonald's!)

Dee Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 11:46 AM EST

I will never forget Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton and eating everyone's food at McDonalds. Classic.

pai Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 10:49 AM EST

Loved Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton, I remember him jogging into a McDonald's. Phil was the master.

CMU Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 10:09 AM EST

Who could forget Dana Carvey as Bush Sr.? "Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent...." Tina's Palin is spot on. Phil Hartman's Clinton was brilliant. Will Ferrell's Reno was also fantastic.

DETROIT Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 10:05 AM EST

Will as Janet Reno, Tina as Sarah Palin, Molly as Monica Lewinsky and Chevy as Gerald Ford. In that order! Absolutely spot on - hilarious!

wildecat Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 09:58 AM EST

I loved it when the real Janet Reno crashed the "Janet Reno Dance Party" and then said, "I love your dress" to Will Farrell.

Brian Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 09:51 AM EST

I love Hammond as Clinton, the way he plays him as a pimp and its his world and we're just living in it personality is just too funny. Also Will Ferrells Bush and Janet Reno, Just thinking of him in that Reno outfit makes me laugh.

Kelly Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 09:30 AM EST

Right on Mike - that skit where they had auditions for W was hysterical! My favorites are definately Will Ferrell as W and I loved Norm McDonald's Dole on The Real World.

ries Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 08:30 AM EST

if anyone has seen will as bush playing with a ball of yarn, that is as good as it gets. i think he did it for his audition and is somewhere on the best of will ferrell dvd.

DavidRane Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 04:29 AM EST

Kristen Wiig as Nancy Pelosi...especially the first skit.

Celimene Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 04:13 AM EST

Loved Dana Carvey as George H.W. Bush. "Na gaaa do it," indeed. Though Phil Hartman was sublime whenever he did anything, and as people have said, Norm MacDonald's Bob Dole in "The Real World" was priceless.

Shel Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 01:33 AM EST

I think SNL does awesomely with the political parodies, period. Tina *is* Sara Palin and Darrell Hammond can do no wrong in my book. Will Ferrell was great and, heck, I even liked Fred's Obama. But when I think of the best politician skits ever, I think of Phil Hartman. His Clinton at McDonald's and his secretly-smart Reagan are classics that will never get old. Miss Phil.

ns Tue, Oct 7, 2008 at 12:48 AM EST

Tina Fey has been phenomenal as Palin. I also have to give it up to Norm McDonald's Dole and Dana Carvey as Bush I--the way Carvey captured his declining fortunes was hilarious. But the alltime champion has to be Darrell Hammond as Clinton. I love the way he plays Bubba as someone who's putting one over on everybody, knows that WE know it, and gets a huge kick out of it.

Cat Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 11:31 PM EST

Darrell Hammond as Clinton--love him!

brynna Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 10:39 PM EST

it will always be Will Farrell as Bush for me. Although Fey as Palin is quite fantastic.

Dana Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 10:19 PM EST

I swear that if Fey and Palin each gave a speech and I had to guess which one was the real Palin, I would flunk. Fey looks and sounds so much like Palin that it almost scares me.

Todd Reynard Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 10:16 PM EST

Haha Will Ferrell as Janet Reno ("My nunchucks and throwing stars will make you the mayor of Pain") and Dubya ("Stratergery"), Dana Carvey as Bush Sr. ("No' go'a do i') and Ross Perot ("I don't wanna discuss what I may or may not say, you are not listening!"), and Tina Fey as Sarah Palin ("Maverick"/ "I can see Russia from my house")

Courtesy of IMDB ©

Schmokey Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 10:01 PM EST

Hammond as Al Gore with his lockbox, and Chevy and Gerald Ford. Chevy never tried to look or act anything like Ford. He just fell down a lot, and it was high-larious.

Dan Ackroyd as Carter talking a dude down off an LSD overdose was pretty hilarious as well.

Annie Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 09:37 PM EST

This probably doesn't count, but John Goodman as Linda Tripp was outstanding.

Jo Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 09:36 PM EST

Will Ferrell as Bush is the best! But Hammond nails everyone he plays and I love his Clinton.

Annie Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 09:35 PM EST

Phil Hartman as Clinton, he was the greatest. I still miss him!

Silv Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 09:17 PM EST

Darrell Hammond as Clinton, Dana Carvey as Bush Sr.

lainey Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 09:11 PM EST

Will Ferrell as Janet Reno or Phil Hartman as Clinton

JB Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 09:09 PM EST

No way to ever replace Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton, I still miss him!

Fred Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 08:21 PM EST

I think the two best ever would have to be Will Ferrel in "Janet Reno's Dance Party" and Molly Shannon's Monica Lewinsky.

rufus11_33@hotmail.com Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 07:25 PM EST

williams 1986. old school. This is a funny man. Forget these rejects we have now, as stand up. Bring back the golden oldies. Eddie murphy and willaims. We haven't forgotten you. Come back.

rufus1133 Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 07:22 PM EST

"Emily Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:58 PM EST

I loved Robin Williams playing Reagan. But Fey as Palin is fabulous.
"

robin williams played regan? hahahhahahaha. I'm finding that link. thanks

Cat Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 07:19 PM EST

Darryl Hammond's Clinton wins for me every time. I think several years ago I couldn't actually picture the real Bill Clinton b/c Hammond's Clinton was so present in my mind.

rufus1133 Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 07:17 PM EST

I'm not a big fan of her's, but fey's is the best. Close second to my boy will ferrell's gw. The stupider the better snl. :)

Lindsay Coleman Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 07:00 PM EST

Hammond is great, great as Clinton. That impersonation will never stop being funny. He was pretty hilarious as Gore also. Hammond is the greatest.

rey Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 06:35 PM EST

hammond is great as clinton. but my favorite is when he does cheney.

jd Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 06:33 PM EST

a couple of years ago, will forte did a sketch as bush where he complained how hard it is to be president.
"IT'S REALLY HARD-I GET MAYBE 9 HOURS OF SLEEP TOPS."

Mike Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 06:24 PM EST

One of my favorite Clinton sketches was the Cold Opener back in 90's where Chris Farley, David Spade, Chris Elliot, Adam Sandler and Tim Meadows auditioned for the role of Clinton. Needless to say, they were all terrible impressions, especially Sandler's, where he acted the same as he always did (even with a song).

Liz Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 06:09 PM EST

One of my favorite political SNL skits was on the episode Kate Hudson hosted back in 2000. It was a Meet the Press spoof with Ana Gasteyer as Hillary and Jimmy Fallon as Rick Lazio. "I..don't..trust..Jewish people" & "I'm going to come down hard on soft money"
And being only 20, my image of Bush 41 is pretty much inextricable from Carvey's impression. That's gotta count for something.

Paz Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 05:48 PM EST

There was a great sketch in 2000 when Will Ferrell and Darrell Hammond as Bush and Gore announced they would both be President. "Heck, you all didn't know who you wanted anyway."
Then they had a clip of them as the Odd Couple.
Also I thought the Hardball sketches with Hammond as Chris Matthews and Chris Kattan as Paul Begala were hilarious.

J Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:56 PM EST

Definitely Phil Hartman as Clinton and Reagan. Nobody beats Phil!

Joe Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:55 PM EST

Ackroyd as Nixon and Carter
Chevy as Ford
Dana Carvey as George H Bush
Jon Lovitz as Dukakis
Will Ferrell as W
Tina Fey as Palin

melissa Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:49 PM EST

Will Ferrell as Janet Reno.

kal Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:42 PM EST

norm as dole was awesome and dana carvey was perfect as bush sr., but chevy chase as ford is still my favorite. he didn't even try to look like or really act like pres ford, just went around falling. his "impersonation" actually affected how ford was perceived in the real world! just like tina fey's is affecting us. all awesome!

Tim_CA Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:38 PM EST

Jinx!!

Tim_CA Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:37 PM EST

No doubt - it has to be Norm McDonald as Bob Dole. I can still see him grasping the pencil in his fist and talking about himself in the 3rd person. Still Hilarious!!

Lauren Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:37 PM EST

I loved Norm McDonald as Bob Dole! He was great. Especially in the skit where Bob Dole was a cast member in MTV's Real World and talked in 3rd person the whole time. Good stuff.

JP Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:10 PM EST

Tina Fey was born to play Palin. During the real debate I had to do a double take to see if it was Palin or Fey!!!!!

Nacho Mama Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 04:09 PM EST

To 9 Daves, oh yeah! Goodman as Linda Tripp, hahahaha. Hammond as Clinton is great. I love Tina Fey but the resemblance keeps it from being a truly great impersonation. she's always half way there. Ferrell as Bush is good but Goodman as Tripp -- that just might be the best.

Kurt Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 03:40 PM EST

The lost season when Lorne Michaels first came back: Terry Sweeney as Nancy Reagan. He was hysterical.

Stephanie T. Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 03:23 PM EST

Fey as Palin, Carvey as George sr., and Chase as Ford.

Note to Lorne, bring back Queen Latifah. She was brilliant last Saturday!

DebbieG Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 03:13 PM EST

Tina Fey is great as Palin, I am loving it!!! LMAO!!!

Emily Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:58 PM EST

I loved Robin Williams playing Reagan. But Fey as Palin is fabulous.

CJ Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:46 PM EST

Dana Carvey as Bush Sr.
Prudent. Prudent. Prudent.
Of all the years I spent not watching SNL, somehow I still remember his impersonation (and giggle to myself).

Julia Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:43 PM EST

Fey as Palin wins. Not only is it funny, accurately capturing the essence of Palin, but it's also transcended SNL and changed the dynamic of the campaign by debunking Ms. Palin. Fey just may have saved the country.

Bri Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:40 PM EST

I just watched the third season last night and saw Aykroyd's Carter and was impressed. Kristen's Pelosi stands out in my mind, not only because of how good it was but because it was probably the moment that people really took notice of what she did.

Clinton in McDonalds.. Jason's Bush was EXCELLENT this weekend.

Sean Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:30 PM EST

...and how could I leave out the late great Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton... one of the best sketches was the COPS parody with Jan Hooks and he being visited late at night about a domestic disturbance... with her beating him.

Sean Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:26 PM EST

Jan Hooks as Nancy Reagan/Hillary Clinton; Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton; Dana Carvey as George Sr.; Ana Gasteyer as Katharine Harris; Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton/Dennis Kucinich; and John Lovitz as Michael Dukakis

Margrete Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:24 PM EST

Darrell Hammond as Clinton is pure gold. Also LOVE him as Al Gore. Dana Carvey as Bush sr. is great, and Seth Meyers as Kerry is a favourite too.

Oh, wait. Tina Fey's Palin, Will Ferrell's Bush, Phil Hartman's Clinton, Amy Poehler's Clinton and Kucinich, Maya Rudolph's Rice
Okey, I love them all.
Well except for Forte's Bush, Armisen's Obama and Sanz's Richardson

Strepsi Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:24 PM EST

Or Christina Anthony from Second City Chicago!
http://www.secondcity.com/?id=theatres/chicago/mainstage/cast
or Audrey Dwyer from the Canadian Touring cast
http://www.secondcity.com/?id=touring/canada/cast

Unbelievably, the Detroit Second City is all white. :-O

Rebecca Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:22 PM EST

"Janet Reno's Dance Party!" is still one of my favorite catch phrases from SNL and the sketch with her actually showing up to hang out with Will is still something that makes me laugh.

I recently saw Tina Fey and Amy Poehler play the Bush twins and HOLY CRAP, was that hilarious with them speaking their secret twin language.

Dana Carvey as Perot ("can I finish, can I finish, can I finish?") and Will Ferrell ("strategery") as George W. are up there at the top for me as well.

Strepsi Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:20 PM EST

MEMO TO LORNE MICHAELS: much as I love me some Queen Latifah, there are tons of young, attractive black and mixed-race comedians in Second City clubs in the U.S. and Canada. Would it kill you to add a couple to your cast???? Is Maya Rudocph really the blackest funnywoman you know? Heck hire Darryl Hinds from Second City Toronto's current show, BARACK TO THE FUTURE!
http://www.secondcity.com/?id=theatres/toronto/mainstage/cast

gg1248 Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:17 PM EST

Who can forget Jan Hooks as Nancy Reagan, refusing the leave the White House and being carried out by the Secret Service as Barbara Bush (a/k/a Phil Hartman) watched?!

Sam Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:08 PM EST

Poehler is a great Hillary, and Darrell Hammond is just awesome. He does everyone!

Claire Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 02:05 PM EST

I have to go with Ferrell as Janet Reno. Tina Fey is pitch-perfect, but watching Ferrell as Janet Reno got me rolling every time.

Sandy Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:51 PM EST

Tina Fey's Sarah Paylin is the best political impression since Phil Hartman's Clinton. It's made Saturday Night Live must-see again.

ElectAPromQueen? (maybe not) Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:45 PM EST

ferrell as reno, darryl hammond as cheney.

katie Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:44 PM EST

I loved the Al Gore GW Bush debate when they had to sum up in one word about their campaign. Al Gore "Lock Box" and GW "stratergry" And also Dana Carvey as George Bush "Not ganna do it"

Al Fredo Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:42 PM EST

A lot of good choices, but I would vote for Carvey as Ross Perot (over his Bush impersonation).

Elizabeth Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:42 PM EST

Amy Poehler as Dennis Kucinich (and not because I live in Cleveland and have to stomach the do-nothing smurf - WHY DO YOU PEOPLE KEEP ELECTING HIM??) Seth & Maya did a good job as the Kerrys too.

wg Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:37 PM EST

Nothing will ever top Phil Hartman in the brilliant "President Reagan, Mastermind" sketch.

But I also have a fond place in my heart for the series of Bush vs. Dukakis ads back in the day - "George Bush is TALL! But Michael Dukakis..."

MP Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:36 PM EST

Hands down Will Ferrell as Janet Reno. Close second Darrell Hammond as Al Gore -- "Lock Box."

Nee Nee Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:25 PM EST

Hammond as Clinton always makes me laugh. The political skits all throughout the 2000 elections, to me, were the best. Hammond's Al Gore is pretty funny, and the whole "Strategery" thing...just hilarious.

SDB Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:19 PM EST

I would have to say, Hammond as Clinton with Tracy Morgan as his secretary, Betty Currie doing a "non gloating" interpretive dance to Aretha Franklin's 'Chain of Fools' after Clinton won the impeachment hearing. Funniest skit ever!

Mo Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 01:14 PM EST

The Bush-Clinton-Perot skit is still "hee-haw, pee in your pants high-larious!" How about Phil Hartman playing totally demented as Perot's running mate (Stockdale? can't remember his name) in the skit that ends with Perot abandoning him by the side of the road? And back during the recount, strangely prescient, but probably in bad taste to bring up now, was the "what if" scenario where Al Gore preempted all your favorite shows every night to read excerpts from his new tax legislation, and Bush was cowering under his desk while Washington burned because he just wanted to see what would happen if he pressed that button...

KG Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:57 PM EST

Queen Latifah's subtle facial expressions were hilarious and Tina Fey just knocked the skit right out of the park. Jason Sudeikis wasn't that good as Biden though. For me, that skit looked like a debate between Palin and Sudeikis, not Palin and Biden. His acting is the same no matter what he plays - Biden, Bush, one half of the a-hole couple (w/ Kristen Wiig), etc. And I miss Will Ferrell playing Bush like a deer caught in headlights - with squinty eyes.

Anne Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:55 PM EST

Love love love Hartman as Clinton in the McDonalds. Must go youtube the skit.

wendydee Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:50 PM EST

I have to go way back and my fave would be Rich Little doing Nixon. Also anyone see the person Jay Leno had play Obama in Celebrity Jeopardy, he was good, would love to see him with tina fey

Jim from Saint Paul Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:41 PM EST

There was a debate spoof SNL did with Phil Hartman as Clinton and Dana Carvey as Perot and Bush. Funniest spoof they ever did. Dana Carvey as Perot was hilarious.

Laura M. Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:35 PM EST

Definitely Darrell Hammond as Clinton. Phil Hartman was hilarious as Clinton also, but Hammond just knocks it out of the park every single time. And I agree that Hammond's appearance as Clinton recently was the funniest thing on SNL all season.

HD Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:31 PM EST

Dan Ackroyd's Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon impersonations were very funny back in the day. And I would have to give Phil Hartmann as Clinton the edge over Darrell Hammond as Clinton.

Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:26 PM EST

Hammond is a fantastic Clinton -- he always conveys just the right amount of womanizing sleaziness, but I have a special place in my heart for that skit of Phil Hartman's Clinton stopping at the McDonald's.

pappa was bush, mamma was a bush Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:25 PM EST

gotta give it to those who went with Dana Carvey as Bush Sr. "Nah, gahna do it, wouldn't be prudent....."

Canadian-Girl Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:21 PM EST

I looooooooved this weekend's spoof of the debates. My favorite line was at the very end when Tina Fey made the comment about the maverick drinking game. How much do you want to bet that this drinking game already exists? (Or if it didn't before it sure does now!) As for the others, I loved Hammond as Bubba and a close 2nd would be Will Ferrell as W. Although if Tina Fey keeps it up she may steal my top spot altogether!

QuestLove Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:19 PM EST

Tina Fey all the wey!

Jeanne Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:18 PM EST

Kristen Wiig's first sketch as Nancy Pelosi was awesome, it still sticks in my head. But nothing will ever top Ferrell's George W. Bush. Ever.

Meanwhile I'm wondering why they made the switch from Forte to Sudeikis for Bush last week, Forte was doing pretty good I thought.

Eric Friedmann Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:15 PM EST

Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford! No comparison!

S Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 12:13 PM EST

It was just a one-off skit, but Michael J. Fox playing Dan Quayle during a State of the Union Address was priceless.
