'Greatest American Dog' recap: No, not Tillman!

Tillmanron_l During the last 24 hours, things have just not gone my way. I'll spare you most of the details, and just pick up with Tillman (pictured with owner Ron) getting eliminated from Greatest American Dog.

This week was all about personality. It should've been Tillman's time, if you consider barfing and farting in the swimming pool "personality," which I do. In canines. But no. First, Tillman whiffed it in the Dog Bone Challenge, which involved the owners predicting whether their dogs would take or leave things set before them. We all saw Tillman drool on the steak in the obedience challenge, so I was as confident as Ron was that Tillman would as least lick Round 1's piece of steak. He didn't. (J.D. and English Border Collie Galaxy went on to win the challenge and banished Travis and Presley to the Dog House.)

The Best in Show competition asked the owners to work with their dogs in a photo shoot to produce an image that best represented an adjective they'd randomly selected. Tillman got LAZY. As J.D. proclaimed, "We have a winner!" But no. Ron was lazy and didn't work with Tillman on his lounging positions, so Tillman could do nothing at the shoot. According to the judges, the shot of Tillman resting his head on the back of the chair was the most boring shot ever taken of a Bull Dog. I wouldn't go that far, but it was unimaginative and disappointing. Ron and Tillman ended up in the bottom three, along with Brandy and Beacon, and Teresa and Leroy.

After the jump, Brandy is full of crap and Teresa is in deep doodoo with the judges.

So once again, I was hoping it was Brandy's week to go home. She and Beacon drew the word loving and brought the predictable heart and rose props with them to the shoot. I actually liked the image they ended up using, a shot of Beacon sitting, wearing a rhinestone collar, and looking up adoringly — though I doubt that when the photo was taken, Brandy was consciously trying to capture the idea of a man kneeling and proposing. Please. The only good thing about Brandy staying is that Travis has had enough of her self-absorption and knows how to handle her: She interrupted him trying to commiserate with her about the challenge with a serious "Can we focus on me?"; he came back with a calm "Yeah, let's do. Might be the last time you're here." Well done, sir. I just would've said something classy like, "You can suck it."

Teresa drew the word angry, which was admittedly one of the more difficult assignments ... if your dog is always happy and/or bites when it finally gets pissed. (Hey, don't get mad at Leroy for going Method.) Teresa's idea was to anger Leroy by spraying him with something. That failed to get a rise out of him, so she took film producer Laura's advice and used the movie magic known as "snarl bands." I knew this was a bad idea immediately, and I was right: The judges said it was inhumane. I give Teresa props for not selling Laura out as the provider of the bands, but take them away for her telling the judges that Leroy liked wearing them. (Cut to the replay of Teresa telling Leroy something like, "I know you don't like these," as she put them on him.) Here's my question: Doesn't Leroy play with toys? Why couldn't she have wound him up with a little match of tug of war, then pulled out of the shot? And if he is always docile, she could've gotten creative with props. She could have cut a few toys up into bite-size bits, as if Leroy had destroyed them, then just gotten him to give a serious face. (Me talking about a dog's "serious face" is no more ridiculous than the judges debating whether Laura's Pomeranian Preston really looked regal with his head tilting to the side.)

So, who will miss Tillman (he farted on his farewell lap!) and who will miss Ron? (That man was always good for a quote: "I like Bill. He has a good laugh. He puts up with Tillman's gas. I'd have no problems seeing him win this thing.") Which photo did you like best? (Galaxy's "sneaky" pose, which will appear in the pages of Dog Fancy, was pretty great. You've got to give J.D. that.) How much do you want to slap Brandy? (You're engaged, lady, let Laura and Travis flirt in the kitchen if they want to!) And um, how inhumane do next week's challenges look? (Walk your dog across a mini-moat, and make it dance with you? Bite her, Leroy! Bite her!)

okiekate Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 01:13 AM EST

mrmetzler...Galaxy is an English pointer/border collie mix.

okiekate Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 12:55 AM EST

For Tori...Tillman Tees...www.gotillman.com. Cheers!

mrsmetzler Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 07:52 PM EST

can someone tell me what kind of dog "gallaxy" is? I have a dog just like this one...

TillmanFan Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 01:55 PM EST

We will miss you Tillman!!!!

Sakuji Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 04:04 AM EST

The judges bitching about the snarl bands were just stupid. They produced a great shot, and there was NO WAY those little plastic bands would EVER hurt a dog. All you people who humanize animals need to just grow up.

AM doglover Sun, Aug 3, 2008 at 08:08 AM EST

I totally agree and so do many of my friends. We watched because of Tillman. He and his owenr should have their own show

Jena Malone Sun, Aug 3, 2008 at 05:10 AM EST

Oh no-- can't be!! Tillman is gone!! I love Tillman and that's the reason why I watched the show in the first place. The show is going to lose viewers and I hope CBS will fire those stupid judges!!!

alexa Sat, Aug 2, 2008 at 09:18 AM EST

These judges got to go! This show is not done fairly. How can you sit up there, as a judge, and talk about inhumane with snarl bands, and let Teresa and Leroy continue on the show. For some reason I feel they were just looking for a excuse to let Tillman go. Let's see the other dogs, ride a skateboard, surf and snowboard. And why did some dog owners, get easy personality picks and some got hard ones, poorly planed and stupid contest whoever thought of it. Let's cheat some more!!! and let the idiot judges give you a lecture about inhumane then overlook it. This show has lost alot of viewers, BAD MOVE JUDGES!!! Get rid of them. Tillman is awesome and will always be special.

judith Sat, Aug 2, 2008 at 08:36 AM EST

Tillman was the superstar of the show.
without him there is no interest!
he should have never left, all his pictures where great. Do the judges know anything about bulldogs? you are my hero Tillman!!!!

Andrea Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 11:54 PM EST

It's a pity that Tillman was so short changed, but it certainly wasn't by the judges. Viewers should have seen this coming- Ron was warned last week that he and Tillman were meant to be partners, and that Ron was simply not acting the part of Tillman's trainer. He let Tillman down again this week, and as frustrating as it was to see Tillman go, it shouldn't have been shocking. Yet here I sit, tickled pink to see that some people seem to have missed the part that one human/dog pair gets voted off each week, and o!!noes!!yes! it could even be the dog you like!

So far this show seems to be a pretty accurate cross section of American dog ownership-- a little cringeworthy and pathetic at times, but charming, engaging and hopeful at others. The canine stars, of course, steal focus shamelessly, and that's really only to be expected. Human drama and squabbles become appropriately petty when contrasted with a group of dogs who clearly can't see what all the fuss is about!

ariel snyder Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 11:41 PM EST

I thought the lady with the border collie should have went home not you. The rubber bands she put on her dog could have hurt the dog. They say that she loves her dog. The people I think loves their dog the most is
ron:bulldog
travis:boxer
So you should have stayed I was hurt so was your room mats
i love you tillman and ron

ariel snyder Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 11:32 PM EST

I was so mad that tillman was expelled. I could not stop bitching at the judges i was so pissedoff. I love you tillman just to let you know the one judge was so wrong. The picture of the lazy tillman was not the worst picture ever. I love you tillman!!!!

Shari Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 08:29 PM EST

I also thought Tillman was very humorous, even though a little obnoxious, but am sorry to see him "expelled." I would like to see Brandy and the other person who dresses her dog in look-alikes be expelled - not their dogs! I adore Star, but am also partial to Brittanys. What I am really annoyed about is the fact that I had to use this site and this blog to see who is no longer on the show! Whose idea was it to change the show to Wednesday night... and stupidly, I didn't realize this! Go sporting and herding dogs!

Anthony Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 07:47 PM EST

I will quit watching the show, I enjoyed watching Ron and Tillman, they made the show. Maybe you could let them have there on show because they are in a class of there own. Maybe you use a few tips from youtube

Ruth Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 07:11 PM EST

Please join me in boycotting the show since Tillman was voted off

Chelsea Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 04:14 PM EST

Ha ha ha ha ha! Who else finds it amusing how Travis is flirting with Laura? Laura seems to care less and treat him like everyone else! I think Laura would sooner date a dog than any man in that house... she must have legions of mactors after her... with a love like Preston, it's no wonder Laura is happy being single.

Glenn Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 04:09 PM EST

It's unfortunate Teresa ended up with that word... I don't think the others could have done much better. ANd in the end, she did get a very good shot, if you wanted a nice picture of a mad Border Collie. I'm sure Leroy has forgiven her, and didn't mind a few minutes of annoyance for the 40 days of fun with nothing but Teresa and a mansion full of dogs to play with. For everyone who likes throwing around the word inhumane, why don't you call the American Humane yourself at (818) 501-0123. Ask them why they weren't on set 24/7, violating the standard expectations that animals should be monitored at all times while being filmed. Maybe if the AHA and Kirstin McMillan had done their job, the owners would not have been put in that awful position in the first place! The real question is, how did Brandy make it through last night for a photo that did not communicate the easiest emotion for a dog to express? Love.

Glenn Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 04:09 PM EST

CBS should not have aired this on last night's episode, as it is not the something for untrained owners to attempt at home. But working dogs and professional trainers have been using this technique on set for decades. Why don't you google the head trainer, Kirstin McMillan, and read about her background? www.hollywoodanimals.com is Kirstin's family- if this was inhumane, why did she allow it? And how does Victoria Stillwell market herself as a canine "expert" if she is ignorant about anything more than house pets? Laura is known and respected by many studio trainers in Hollywood... and she would know the most humane method of how trainers work on set with trained canine actors. Responsibly, she recommended the safest and fastest method for achieving the look that whichever producer at GAD wanted. Teresa should have never been given the word ANGRY to begin with... the average dog owner in American does not have a dog with the GAD's temperment.

Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 04:08 PM EST

Snarl bands are the slang term used by studio trainers in the film industry, commonly (and humanely) used under American Humane guidelines. The actual moniker is "snarl device" and it's merely an ouchless elastic hair tie, something most girls with long hair would have on them for braids and ponytails. Rite Aids, etc carry the hair ties, made by Goody, Scunci, etc... They are no more annoying than brushing a dog's teeth or putting on a gentle leader harness. And certainly much less aggravating than "anasthesia free teeth cleaning" being advertised on every dog corner. Studio trainers much prefer a "snarl band" to raise a working dog's lips over encouraging a dog to become angry.

Hmmmm.... Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 03:03 PM EST

Re: Travis flirting with Laura. Travis is an aspiring actor. Laura is an independent film producer. Let's do the math, everyone...

Alice Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 02:02 PM EST

I thought this "challenge" was too subjective and the range of difficulty too broad. I think the producers themselves were inhumane in forcing someone to make his/her dog look "angry" - how did they think it would be done? Mandy Bierly's suggestion re: using torn up toys is possible but that could easily look more like 'mischievous'. Any other suggestions from other readers?

A few suggestions for improving this challenge:

- give all the owners the same set of "personality traits" to portray, say, everyone has to produce 3 pics, one for sneaky, one for lazy, one for joyous. Or, to make it simpler, everyone gets to choose one trait to portray out of the same 3.
- make it clear what criteria are being used to judge the pics. Maybe each pic could be rated out of 5 for each of: creativity, level of difficulty, and how well the portrait depicts the trait.

Otherwise, I think this a great concept for a show and will definitely keep watching.

MNWLA Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 12:47 PM EST

Tillman was adorable, but Ron was a terrible trainer, and that's what the show is about. Not to mention Ron's inability to connect the crap he proudly feeds Tillman and the fact that Tillman farts and throws up all day. Tillman isn't lazy - he's sick!

Kel Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM EST

I WON'T WATCH THIS SHOW ANYMORE! I can't believe they voted out Tillman. He was so cute and wonderful. They should have gotten rid of the girl that stuck a rubberband in her poor dogs mouth or Beacon's owner. Tillman was by far a much better Great American Dog.

Nanadeb Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 09:30 AM EST

Are you crazy. Tillman and Ron were the best. You have lost so many viewers. Beacon she have been the one to go. His owner needs to get off the show, nothing against the dog. Tillman and Ron made the show the best. Are you willing to give up viewers and ratings? Reinstate Tillman and Ron and get rid of the idiot judges.

dee Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 09:00 AM EST

I usually don't add my comments to these blogs but after reading many people who will quit watching because one dog was eliminated, I want to ask ..why? Does Ron have that big of family that supports him, are there that many bulldog owners in America? I watch the show to be entertained. Just like a favorite player on Survivor or Big Brother, I have favorite dog (Star). I would continue watching this show even if Star was eliminated because I enjoy a reality show that entertains and touches my heart with dogs.

Barry C. Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 08:13 AM EST

Good job ,getting rid of Tillman, Are you guys crazy ,another viewer lost .

Doglover Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 06:44 AM EST

These judges can be really ignorant with their comments to these dog owners. They cheated letting Teresa and Leroy stay on the show. The judges stated the snarl bands was inhumane, so why wasn't Leroy and Teresa eliminated. Wrong move judges!!!! Alot of people are upset with their stupid decision, practice what you preach to these dog owners. If their is to be a next round starting, please get new judges they make me sick, especially the one that sits there and holds her dog, she is very mean to these dog owners!!!! I'm so disgusted and will not continue to watch this show, unless next time there would be new judges picked. Tillman was the most talented dog on the show, and alot of people are upset he was left go. Go Tillman, you are one bulldog.

mhermstad Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 01:24 AM EST

I am so upset, I don't care what happens since Tillman is gone... he was the best American Dog.... because of a photo shoot? sorry that was bad, should have been Beacon
and his squeaky master... they need to go home!!!!

deb cummings Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 12:59 AM EST

Pebbles my english bulldog is very upset the coolest dog of the show was eliminated. Big Mistake, Tillman was the dog with the most unique character and talent. just dc'd our season pass on tivo for the greatest american dog.

Jeff Everett Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 12:30 AM EST

I can't understand why a Dog Show would dump the dog (Tillman) that got most viewers to watch them in the first place. The show has lost this viewer. Get rid of the most talented dog in the show? I don't get it. ???

S. Bertolone Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 11:37 PM EST

Do you really want to know why Ron and Tillman got the boot? It has to be because of the comment made by Ron to the judge about her weird pig-laugh. She obviously didn't like it and voted him off. The other judge seemed to like his photo and we all know that the one who should have gone was Teresa and Leroy who used the bands on her dog, the judge Victoria really didn't like that and thought it was inhumane.

Cheri Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 11:31 PM EST

What a total disappointment. I will only watch the show in hopes that star wins it. Tillman was my favorite and it sounds like a whole lot of other people thought that also!

Sharon Boyce Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 11:10 PM EST

I wrote my first comment before I read the other comments. Ron was too danged energetic! Not lazy! All he had to do was put Tillman in front of the camera and wait for him to be Tillman. 5 minutes, tops. The snarl bands aren't cruel under the circumstance it was used. Spraying your innocent dog in the face and mouth with a grapefruit spray for doing NOTHING wrong is by far crueler than the snarl band. The emotional abuse was FAR more cruel than the dog having a band on his mouth for a few minutes. How do YOU give your dog medicine? Bet you that you hold onto his upper jaw as you slip the pills down his throat. Same thing. Discomfort. Not abuse as were this woman's other solutions. The lady who suggested the snarl band chose the LESSER upset.

Sharon Boyce Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 10:56 PM EST

Look - ALL dogs are the greatest. But--how many taught THEMSELVES to ride a skateboard.? Those judges appear to be a bunch of doofuses. Tillman needs to be reinstated.

Suzanne Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 10:07 PM EST

All I can say is "Ditto!" And I'm disgusted they put the show on Wednesday instead of Thursday. I got all settled to watch the show tonight when I got home and I'd recorded "Big Bore."

Lauren Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 09:43 PM EST

HOLY CRAP!!! what were they thinking. Tillman was the only reason most people watch the show! By the way, i will kill myself if Brandy wins. I hate her.

Cali A. Smith Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 09:01 PM EST

My husband and I were very upset to see that they threw Tillman off of the show. He was the BEST and the cutest dog I have EVER seen. YOU GO TILLMAN...YOU'RE THE DOG

Joseph McCarthy Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 08:36 PM EST

Tillman was the shit. He will be missed.

Till-maniac Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 08:19 PM EST

The show must not be fixed because Tillman and Ron were the heart and soul of the show. The producers would be crazy to let them go on purpose. As for Brandy... she's engaged? She seems to be a little overly interested in Travis. Hope this is a wake-up call for her fiancee. It's not too late!

Lisa Schmidt Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 08:02 PM EST

What is up with those judges? Leroy should of eliminated instead of Tillman. The judge stated that snarl bands should of never been used! Very dissapointed last night, and probably won't continue to watch it. Tillman rocks! A very talented dog.

Laedeekat Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 06:38 PM EST

Yeah, I was disappointed to see Tillman go also. I just knew that crazy lady using the bands would be off. When I saw that, I knew that would be a no no. She was going to have to tell how she got him to make that face. I was also glad to see Star's shoot go well at the end.

Sue Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 06:03 PM EST

Tillman is a superstar! He needs his own show. He blows all the other dogs off the screen. The judges are incompetent idiots. I won't be able to watch the show without Tillman.

anthony Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 05:50 PM EST

Are you kidding me? The judges voted Ron and Tillman off? And those shrill, inhumane, nasty women remain on? That's total crap. I'm sure this show was fixed anyway, but CBS should know they have probably lost at least half their viewers. The star is gone is so is that show. Fire those judges and bring back Tillman.

Tori Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 04:59 PM EST

Oh No! I was so disappointed that Tillman was voted out. I think Teresa should've been out using that snarl band, that was really bad. Hey how do we get Tillman Tee's like the ones Ron wore on the show.

CariD Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 04:51 PM EST

I haven't been watching the show minute by minute, but one of the reasons I wanted to watch is because I love Victoria Stillwell's show on Animal Planet....but, that said, I'm disappointed in her as a judge on this show. She makes strong comments about the way the owners treat the dogs, then those owners aren't eliminated. I really think I'll be making less effort to watch any of this show next week.

John Botelho Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 03:43 PM EST

Today at our Thursday senior poker game, the main subject was Tillman. Everyone in our group are dog lovers, and Tillman was our favorite. Most agreed that the picture selected did not do him justice. Perhaps a steak laying on a fire hydrant with Tillman just looking at it laying down would have done the trick.

Although we disagreed on who should have gotton the boot last night, Tillman was not one of them. The judges are not in touch with dog lovers, had they been Teresa would have gone after tormenting her dog with a rubber band. Maybe she should have put them on the judges mouths so they could experience the gruelty.

My gut feeling is the show is a fix and the winner is already picked based on the characters, not the dog. Just another reality show, no different that Big Brother. Looks like you lost a few fans last night, including our group. Way to go CBS

tara Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 03:39 PM EST

Tillman rocks and so did Ron. There was an obvious love and respect for his dog and you could see the bond that was there. It was easy and not forced like some of the dogs. Seriously, how could Tillman not do "lazy" correctly? That dog is cute AND talented and I hope he and Ron are buddies for many years to come. I do like the old guy and Star, they seem to share the same kind of relationship based on mutual love and respect and I hope he wins now that Tillman is gone. I really would have liked to seen Bella S. gone, her owner is annoying and demanding and she seems to think her dog is a trophy or something and kinda snobby because her dog is and "actress".. whatever. I am not watching anymore either. No skateboarding dog and nobody else is all that interesting. This could have been an awesome show, I looked forward to it for awhile and then it just wasn't put together as well as I thought it would be and the judges..um.. well, they should have left their dogs at home and stayed also.

Amy Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 03:37 PM EST

I was sooo sad to see Tillman go........unfortunately his owner blew it for him. Its a shame that they cant eliminate the owners and not the dogs! Im really surprised that Brandy and Beth Joy? (Bellas owner) are still treading water. They both annoy the crap out of me!

Barbara Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 03:29 PM EST

I will miss Tillman too and don't really understand what the judges want half the time. It just seems like there is no pleasing them and they are just as obnoxious as some of the dog owners. My two favorite owners are Bill and Travis as they are pretty laid back and always friendly and helpful to the other dog owners.

doris Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 03:25 PM EST

Tillman was the only watchable and lovable character on the show...therefore, I will not be tuned into America's Greatest anymore. Also, the judges are a bit obnoxious.

Michelle Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 03:25 PM EST

I agress with the others. I hated seeing Ron and Tilman go. He did great with Tillman and with kindness not abuse. I hope to see them down here in Huntington Beach, CA surfing or skating boarding. Rock on Tillman. : )

lenora lilja Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 02:48 PM EST

Last night Terasa and Leroy should of went home not Ron and Tillman Teresa cheated and was curel to her dog. I will not be watching anymore. it was not judged fairly.
Lenora

Frank Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 02:25 PM EST

Tillman is gone. I will no longer watch. Hye judges: HUGE mistake.

Laura Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 02:22 PM EST

Tiiiiiiiiillllmaaaaaaaaan, noooooooooooooooooooooo! I really, really really can't stand these judges. Is it just me or are they completely out of their minds? There is nothing at all likable about them. nothing. It's like watching American Idol with 3 Simon Cowells... that's 3 too many!

So now our fat little cutie Tillman is gone. I can't beleive it. Hasnt the crazy chick Brandy been in the bottom before? Why wasnt her shot lazy? It didnt remotely look "loving".. and you know what... Tillman's shot was not nearly as bad as made out to be. I thought it was cute. That dog can't be anything but cute.

I didnt expect them to win, but I really did expect them to be there after Crazy Brandy and Evil Lauren.

Jannae Gaddess Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 02:20 PM EST

Tillman is the HEART AND SHOW of Greatest American Dog. He and Ron will be missed -- they're the only reason(s) why I watch this show in the first place. Get rid of the stupid judges and BRING BACK TILLMAN!! Teresa should have been the one expelled for using the inhumane snarl band on Leroy. Brandy could be next to go. The show won't the same w/o TILLMAN.

Judy L Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 01:39 PM EST

The show will not be the same without Tillman, the judges should have taken the viewers into consideration...WE ALL LOVE TILLMAN.....................

Magdalen Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 01:32 PM EST

I'll miss Tillman, and I agree that he should have had a chance to do his star turn trick: surfing/skateboarding. But Ron was lazy, and the judges were right to call him on it. The only good news about Brandy is that she makes me hate Bella Starlet's owner a bit less. (Sorry -- blanking on her name. Apart from Bill, the owners are not nearly as memorable or interesting as their dogs. I wouldn't have remembered Brandy's name if you all hadn't reminded me!)

Sally Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 01:03 PM EST

Please say it ain't so!!!! Tillman was the only reason I watched the show. The judges made a HUGE mistake.

melissa Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 12:46 PM EST

Tillman was the best thing that show
had.He made it fun to watch.I feel
the show just lost a viewer.

Glen Bacon Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 12:37 PM EST

What a complete disappointment this show has been! The judges suck for one thing. They don't let the dogs do what they do best. If I wanted to watch a show dog event Westminister would be my choice. The only time you get to see Tillman do his skate boarding is the outtakes before the show? What a complete waste of time this show is!

Matt Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 11:51 AM EST

There is nothing inhumane about snarl bands. They are used on movie sets all the time and every movie set has animal humane experts on set 24/7.

janet Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 11:24 AM EST

Dana, I thought the same thing about Preston's picture. The one where he was commanding the bone looked pretty regal. Maybe the final pic didn't really turn out, but I think Laura could have chosen more wisely.

lisa Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 10:57 AM EST

I won't miss Tillman. The dog was gross! Vomiting and farting in the swimming pool is so disgusting. He also didn't listen to his owner. Ron was lazy! He kept phoning it in.

I wasn't impressed with Galaxy's shot. It was decent, no more. Also, Galaxy is a boring dog. I doubt she even likes JD.

The personality contest wasn't about personality. It was about who could subtly command their dog to take the item on offer. Yawn.

Bill is cool. He deserves to win!

Dana Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 10:49 AM EST

Wow Brandy is a self absorbed twit! I only recently started watching the show but she irritates me. I wonder why Laura didn't pick one of the shots with her dog balancing the bone under her paw, as soon as I saw the pic she chose I knew they'd say the head to the side made her dog look curious not regal. Loved Bill's pic I like Bill.

LC Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 10:39 AM EST

OMG! I LOVED TILLMAN! They made a HUGE mistake. He was a STAR!!!

Janet Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 10:35 AM EST

I laughed so hard during this episode because Ron and Bill were hysterical! But, as previously state, Ron blew it by being lazy. Also pretty hysterical was the jealous Brandy. I hope her fiance gets a wake up call as he's watching these episodes.

I'll miss Tillman, but Ron was lazy two weeks in a row. Ron had the easiest emotion and he fumbled it. I love the show's cameraman giving us, the viewers, an obvious and great shot of "lazy" Tillman asleep as Ron and the photographer discussed pictures.

Brandy needs to GO. She's annoying, catty, self-centered, and childish. I feel so sorry for her poor dog. (Not so much her fiance--he has a choice. The poor dog doesn't.) Anyone with an ounce of class would've kept her mouth shut and let Travis and Laura flirt in private.
