Who got snubbed by Emmy? And which nominees rule?

Jul 17, 2008, 09:23 AM | by Michael Slezak

Categories: Emmys

Emmysnub_l Last weekend I had a dream where I was sitting in front of my TV set watching the Emmy nominations press conference, and was shocked/elated when Ugly Betty's Becki Newton received a nod for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. In my dream, I remember thinking to myself how this was impossible, seeing how earlier in the month, Gold Derby leaked the list of the top 10 semifinalists in the category (and the nine other major races), and Newton's name was inexplicably missing.

This dream tells me a few things: I'm unhealthily obsessed with the Emmys; my dream-life has an impressive degree of factual accuracy; and, yes, you can always count on a whopping number of boneheaded omissions in the major categories. This year, however, seems even worse than usual. Maybe it's because PopWatch favorites like The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, and Friday Night Lights all cracked one or more of the lists of semifinalists, and yet none scored a single major nomination. I spent all morning sending out positive Emmy energy into the universe, hoping it might result in a nod for Battlestar's glorious Mary McDonnell (apparently only former A-list movie stars and Mariska Hargitay need apply for Best Actress in a Drama), Medium's unheralded Jake Weber, or 30 Rock's Tracy Morgan, but nope… all of 'em got the hose. At least I can take consolation in the fact that Zelko Ivanek and Michael Emerson made the cut for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama.(And of course, Wilhelmina Slaaaytaaaah!)

After the jump, check out the full list of major nominees, and then vent your snub rage/nomination elation (and those names you can't believe you're seeing yet again... like comedy actors whose names begin with "Sh") in the comments section below. (And do check back at EW.com later this morning for Emmy reactions from our TV critics Gillian Flynn and Ken Tucker, plus click here to get Michael Ausiello's snappy judgment on the nominations.)

This could be the worst Award show ever. Why Why Why Why does 30 Rock win so often? Alec Baldwin is a pig (no pun intended.) And Breaking Bad and Damages?? Who watches those shows? Michael Emerson was snubbed. Hugh Laurie, again, was snubbed. Everything was about politics, and if I ever have to hear somebody insult Sarah Palin again, I will scream. Mad Men is NOT a good show, and does NOT deserve those rave reviews. What a mindless, stupid show! What do you see in it, EW? Jeremy Piven didn't deserve ANOTHER Emmy for a show that nobody watches, and Kristen Chenoweth completely deserved an award for her cute, quirky, and irresistable role on Pushing Daisies, a sweet, addictive show. And I could have SWORN that Christna Applegate was going to win the Emmy, but instead that Palin-hater Tina Fey gave another undeserved win for 30 Rock. I simply can't believe that Lost gives its best season yet, and Mad Men won. How many viewers does it attract? Let's see...oh, right, uh, NOBODY?!

Kurt Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 03:05 PM EST

Anyone with half a mind knows that Battlestar Galactica and The Wire are the best things to ever be aired on tv. They are so out the other shows league that they are above emmys. I think the first 5 episodes of season 3 of BSG maybe the greatest thing I've ever watched including even movies.

Also it's just a joke that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia isn't cleaning up the comedy categories. Also what about Burn Notice?

Pat Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 08:41 PM EST

This show wins my award for the worst award show ever. Can't believe all the senseless time fillers. And references to shows like Smothers Brothers and Laugh In which the majority of the viewers don't even remember because they weren't even born when the shows were on tv.

mary jean Lacidonia Wed, Sep 17, 2008 at 09:27 AM EST

the nominators must have a dificult time in choosing whose hot and whose not as they have to sort through so much gargage out there that to find the gems is no easy task.Greys Anatomy has overlooked it's talemted actors and seem to concentrate more on sex, sex and more sex. Like sex in the city, they switch partners as often as they change their socks. They were a good show at one time, but the airs gone our of their tires.
Happy for House and Charlie Sheen - house is an original and delas with a nyriad of issues head on Two and a Half Men have me Laughing so hard, and the supporting cast is flawless.
But at the end of the day - it's just TV. The horrors of real life make all this hoopla pale in comparison. one last thing - I may be in the minority Lost can get Lost. Miss one episode and YOU'RE Lost.

Zach Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 02:18 AM EST

Nominating Curb Your Enthusiasm without nominating Larry David is like nominating Sopranos without James Gandolfini. David has been the funniest man on tv for years!

Meghan Fri, Sep 12, 2008 at 10:10 AM EST

I'm a huge Office and 30 Rock fan, but the comedy I'm looking most forward to?

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's the most consistently zany, hilarious and un-P.C. show on the air right now.

dellapina Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 03:49 PM EST

It's ludicrous that The Shield was completely ignored. The last two seasons have been astounding in terms of storyline, but I can't even find the words to describe how good the acting is. Michael Chiklis and Walton Goggins deserved nominations and they better get em next year!

Tracy Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 01:10 PM EST

Miriam Shor should be nominated or maybe next year.

Holly Wed, Sep 10, 2008 at 12:56 PM EST

hey! Isn't this the very same stuffthe Emmys gave us last year? It sure does look like it to me. What about CSI # 1 Show remember? William Petersen and NOt the least Jorja Fox and her stellar 1/2 season. Sheesh I can't figure that award out for the life of me and I think that this is the year I will stop trying.

Ana Maria Sat, Sep 6, 2008 at 08:13 AM EST

What I think is: there will never be unanimity on the part of viewers about this or that actor or actress Emmy for the show. This is because each of them believes that the actor or actress of your favorite series should be the indicado.Mas not quite people. I can only give a comment on an actor or series if I have the opportunity to assess the performance of this or daqwuele actor. As Mariska Hargitay criticize if you do not assist Law and Order SVU? I particularly believe in the good faith of those critics who choose to torcendo and I indicated that we have a great premiação.Assisto most of the series that had indications, I think Glen Close and Sally Field (the main) but be talentosíssima der Mariska, the spectacular performance in Ündecover "I will also be happy. This site is the unhappy, I think that exception, that I loved as your Emmy 2008.

Jennifer,16 Thu, Aug 7, 2008 at 06:48 PM EST

OMG.. for Actress in a Drama series ; goes to MARISKA HARGITAY!! she deserves this award after an outstanding season 9!! She was the first ever detective or cop of the Law and orer series or spin-offs she wins hands down in my heart!! and anyone who watches SVU, would agree with me 100%% ++++

Nancy Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 08:43 PM EST

Snubbed, you say? William Fichtner, brilliant in both Invasion and most recently Prison Break. His tense, and INtense portrayal of Agent Alex Mahone is lethal and vulnerable at the same time, he totally immerses himself into every role. Unjustly overlooked!

WayneCha Thu, Jul 31, 2008 at 01:59 PM EST

Most of the nominees in the major categories above are quite deserving, but there always seems to be some inexplicable choices thrown into the mix. Why do they insist on supporting immature and mediocre shows like "Boston Legal" and "Two and a Half Men" when "Battlestar Galactica" and "Pushing Daisies" are rightfully being touted as two of TV's best?!

Now I'd like to add a few to EW's "50 Biggest Emmy Snubs." I think "That 70s Show" and Topher Grace were just as underrated in the comedy categories as "Frasier" and Kelsey Grammar were overrated. With a terrific ensemble cast and sharp writing, "That 70s Show" was a smart show about dumb people. "Gilmore Girls" should've been nominated several times for comedy series, and James Marsters was consistently brilliant in his portrayal of one of the most complex characters ever to grace the small screen: Spike on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Emily Wed, Jul 30, 2008 at 12:42 PM EST

I have to throw in my support for all things Battlestar Galactica. It is simply one of the few great shows still left on television. It would have been amazing to see the show or its cast recognized for once in a major category. Oh well, I supposed I will go cry into the welcoming bosom of my BSG DVDs :)

arabesque Sat, Jul 26, 2008 at 11:30 PM EST

Overall, I thought these were pretty good. I was disappointed to see that Mia Michaels wasn't nominated for best choreography--she did some fantastic work last season. Very happy about Hugh Laurie, and absolutely thrilled with Mariska Hargitay's nomination! The emmys are all about rewarding actors/actresses for their outstanding. Undercover may have been Mariska's best work I have ever seen out of her, and she completely deserves to be up there. I have never seen anybody deliver a performance like that. I'm definitely pushing for a win for her.

lizbethu Fri, Jul 25, 2008 at 09:04 AM EST

There are some really obscure choices on the ballots this year - it's like the nominating board only got half a copy of the full list - I agree that Jensen Ackles was overlooked - did they realize that there is such a network as The CW???? Does anyone else think there should be cable emmy's separate from network television emmy's? The rules are completely different between the two mediums - cable has a lot more freedom and less regulation they need to adhere to, thus the actors can be much more "expressive" than those on the major networks. I haven't even seen half of the shows, actors, or actresses that have been nominated, and I am a huge TV fan!

Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 05:24 AM EST

There should have been more nominations for Lost. None of the leads (Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lily) were nominated and they bring so much to the story.
Grey's deserved more nominations too. Ellen Pompeo was terrific this season with the Meredith evolving and finally moving on from the past and her fears. Also, Amy Madigan should have been nominated for being a guest star. Maybe she was in too many episodes to count as a guest star. At least one of the Desperate Housewives should have gotten some attention. At least Eva Longoria Parker. She's not just a pretty face. She is the funniest of all of them.

jo Wed, Jul 23, 2008 at 06:35 AM EST

Why is Grey's anatomy still being talked about. Please dont make me laugh Ellen Pompeo is the only lead of a drama series that nobody actually notices. A lead actress is suppossed to do just that "LEAD AND ACT"'.She is so flat, Kate Walsh would have been a better choice. You think if she had been carrying her weight the ratings would not have been plummeting so much. And to worsen it Patrick Dempsey is all looks and no talent. Even emmy snubs can see that. That said CONGRATS TO THE NOMINES but BSG and Jensen ackles were robbed!

Renee Sun, Jul 20, 2008 at 02:09 PM EST

Besides SYTYCD (Hello!!!), I'm also a little disappointed Big Bang Theory wasn't up there, particular since 2 1/2 Men was. Same creator but Big Bang Theory is so much funnier! And the whole ensemble is great. I appreciate the People's Choice awards (I think it is) for their "best ensemble" and "Best New Comedy/Drama" categories. It makes sense to me to have a separate category for shows that are new this season.

bigzizzo Sun, Jul 20, 2008 at 09:29 AM EST

the wire being snubbed is not surprising although it probably is the best show in the history of television but where is the nomination for lavan davis of house of payne and whrer is felicity huffman's nomination? emmy really dropped the ball this year.i'm tired of seeeing former movie stars get all of the actor nominations this is the emmy's not the oscars.lavan davis' character is the funniest on television it's a shame he wont be recognized for it.

Beetlebury Sun, Jul 20, 2008 at 01:39 AM EST

It's a shame that the Academy never showed the love to The WB and now The CW. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel were 2 of the best acted and written shows on television. But now I truly feel the pain for the glaring ommission of Jensen Ackles for Lead Actor in a Drama for Supernatural. This is the smartest show on television right now. It's got action. It's got drama. And it can be funnier than any of those shows considered comedies. But week in and week out Jensen brings it and I am truly disheartened that his efforts have gone unnoticed once again.

1. kathleen-i totally agree. Zach Gilford deserves a nod for that bathroom scene--one of my favorite parts of a dull season. And Jesse Plemons needs a nod for having the balls to call Tyra pathetic for her definition of a man.
2. They need a category for teen shows. Maybe then performances by people like Ed Westwick and Michelle Tratchenberg (Gossip Girl) won't go unnoticed.
3. According to your magazine, "Cavemen" did better in the ratings than "30 Rock," so I feel confident in saying that Sam Huntington deserves a nod for making me laugh so damn hard.
4. "Notes from the Underbelly" was ratings starved too (still doing better than "Scrubs"), but Rachael Harris kept me tuned in.
5. Even though I think Jean Smart is hilarious, Jennifer Esposito kills me every episode.
6. Justin Chambers' break down in the last episode of Grey's deserves a nod.
7. Theo Rossi, who played a paramedic on the two-parter Grey's, and Judy Greer on "Two and a Half Men" deserve guest spot nods.

chad Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 11:41 PM EST

I cant believe there was not more love for brothers and sisters!! where is rob lowes nom? or calista flockhart? and there best drama nom? i was shocked!! they tacked the war, the election, a gay wedding... not to mention the writing and acting on the show is AMAZING!! i love damages and am glad they got some love... i wish elizabeth perkins got her weeds nom... but at last they got mary louise...

Michelle Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 09:06 PM EST

I agree with all of the House and Hugh Laurie fans. He is by far the best actor on TV and deserves the win! And totally agreed about RSL getting snubbed year after year after year. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Alexa Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 08:57 PM EST

HELLO?!?!?!?
GREY'S ANATOMY!!!!!!!!!!!
Did the Academy people not watch that AMAZING season finale?!?! And Ellen Pompeo--I was completely convinced that she would get nominated this year--she was spectacular!! And so was Patrick Dempsey!
Why is it that the only thing the Emmys have ever awarded Grey's are supporting actress noms and wins? I mean Sandra and Chandra are phenomenal, but why don't they ever give the rest of the cast a chance too, like the Golden Globes and the SAGs do! I agree with Andrew...
And that the show didn't even get a nomination for best drama this year, I'm completely at a loss for words!!

Elizabeth Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 08:24 PM EST

personally, i don't agree with boston legal and house still being nominated. i can't believe boston legal is still on tv. as for house, i watched for one season, and it seemed like every single patient has the same disease. and plus, it's really annoying for those in the medical field!

Elizabeth Wu Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 08:21 PM EST

Zach Braff of Scrubs should have been nominated (as well as the show too!). He was nominated a couple years ago, but it seems like NBC never really cared about this show. sad.

AL Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 08:15 PM EST

If Mariska is performing at award nominating levels, then so is her partner on the show - Christopher Meloni. He always gets overlooked.

No FNL, at all, anywhere?? That's the biggest shame of them all.

john david Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 05:20 PM EST

ROBBED: Dana Delany, Tracey Ullman, and Kristen Wiig from SNL. These ladies are awesome.

Aaron Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 05:19 PM EST

What about the writers for Jericho???This is the most compelling drama in recent TV programming, so different from all the copycat shows out there.

Mary Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 01:55 PM EST

Same names, different year. Are you kidding me? Mary McDonnell & Michael Hogan from Battlestar Galactica are the ones I consider the biggest snubs. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Frannie Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 01:16 PM EST

To anyone who doesn't think that Mariska Hargitay is deserving of her fifth consecutive nomination is on crack.

FYI, the Emmys are NOT about "giving everyone a chance." It is about honoring the best work in television, and Mariska has continually shown that she has serious acting chops and that is why she is nominated again and again. Anyone who saw her Emmy submission episode, "Undercover," knows that she gave an amazing performance with extremely difficult subject matter. And if you didn't see that episode, please don't say she doesn't deserve it because you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Mariska is a fantastic actress and I am looking forward to her winning that catagory.

That being said, I agree that Robert Sean Leonard and Henry Ian Cusick should have been nominated. Matthew Fox deserved a Best Dramatic Actor nod. He was great this season! Congrats to Lost and Mad Men for their nominations!

A Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 01:10 PM EST

I'm still a upset after last year's snub. Jenna Fischer's portrayal of the evolution of Pam in season three, from the end of her engagement, to Jim's return, to that amazing coal walk... Too bad the academy never tends to see the big, overarching picture. Nothing is a greater testament to acting ability in television than the ability to portray characters that evolve. This year, I've got my fingers crossed for Rachel Griffiths who's astounding in Brothers and Sisters and Chandra Wilson who outshines Katherine Heigl, any day, with a smaller frame and ego and infinitely greater talent.

Anonymous Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 10:43 AM EST

I'm thrilled with the nods for Vanessa, America, and Kristin. But you could have predicted these nominations easily. Eh, nothing new.

Will there EVER be nods for Michael Urie and Becki Newton, easily the best thing about Ugly Betty? Michael should've been recognized after season one had ended, especially after the excellent job he did in "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." But I guess my ranting won't change anything, so I won't even.

The whole Emmy nods this year feels been there, done that.... not a lot of deep thought on their part.

Poor Kevin Connolly will never see a nomination in the Best Actor-Comedy character, as long as he keeps playing the straight man to Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven and Jerry Ferrara.
Shows like BSG and My Boys, which are smart, clever and thought provoking are left off, but tired old Two and a Half Men is nominated?
Nothing for the entire cast and production of Army Wives?
I'm glad House got nominated- but I always think of it is as a comedy, not a drama. Does that make me a bit left of center?

Leigh Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 02:33 AM EST

I'd figured they'd pass on Anne Dudek when it came to recognizing "House", which is a shame in itself, but no love for Robert Sean Leonard, especially after that heartbreaking finale performance? Totally unforgivable.

Lisa Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 01:51 AM EST

If Matthew Fox were to be nominated, then Josh Holloway would have to be also. Personally I think Josh has the better lines and is the better character.
CONGRATS to HOUSE and especially to HUGH LAURIE on their nominations.
Now if HUGH does not win this year....
I will just cry or scream...or something.
He is MORE than deserving of this award. I feel honored to be able to watch him at his craft each week. The accent change, the cane, the pages and pages of dialog....for 4 season now....I think it's time he gets recognized for that.
HUGH IS HOUSE!

WE LOVE YOU, HUGH!!

Marcy Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 03:20 PM EST

Rainn Wilson totally deserving. I can understand Office fans whining about Jenna Fischer she is good but Krasinski - totally overated. The voters got this one right. Just because on supporting actor is great doesn't mean he gets to drag the whole bunch with him.

me Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 01:51 PM EST

becki newton is my favorite supporting chick since laurie metcalf on roseanne. this girl needs to at least be nominated. her timing is on point every time. emmy will just never get it, will they?

Bill Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 12:16 PM EST

Ellen Pompeo was amazing in season 4. she deserves a win.. EW said it:

Pompeo's character, the ever-mopey Meredith Grey, is so polarizing that it's hard to envision her ever getting an Emmy nod. But honestly: Those sad eyes, überpouty lips, and woeful voiceover deserve a little love from the Academy. Plus, the girl has been through some of TV's most emotionally draining scenes. Especially last season, when she literally scrubbed blood off her own kitchen floor and had flashbacks to her mother's suicide attempt. Now that's worthy of a statue — or at least a little respect. —Tanner Stransky

ga fan Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 10:27 AM EST

Where are GREY'S ANATOMY, ELLEN POMPEO and PATRICK DEMPSEY???

Matt Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 09:51 AM EST

Ok, I can stand Scrubs being snubbed AGAIN. I'm used to it, but John C. McGinley being snubbed again? What does it take for Dr Cox to get some Emmy love?

Andrew Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 09:50 AM EST

Ellen Pompeo. HUGE SNUB.
the Globes and the SAGs better award her. or people will loose faith in all these award shows.

The funniest show by far on television today is The Office! I wish that they could all get an Emmy as a cast, because they all play so well off of each other! I just hope that Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson win! They came back after the strike and never missed a beat. If no one has ever watched the Dinner Party episode you are missing out!

jeanne Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 07:48 AM EST

Battlestar galactica the entire cast

Patch again Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 06:01 AM EST

Oh, and Big Love. WHere the heck is Big Love? Jeanne Tripplehorn was especially wonderful this season. The writing? Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amanda Seyfried -- even Bill Paxton! Where are they?

Patch Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 05:57 AM EST

If you're a movie start who stoops to do a TV show, the academy feels that it needs to reward that with nominations and it stinks for other talented actors and actresses. They've always done that in the guest acting categories, but now it's most visible in lead actress, drama.
Other than that, I'm personally most mad about Jenna Fischer getting snubbed, and I'm blaming it on Emmy voters' fascination with Holland Taylor of 2 1/2 Men, a show which voters inexplicably adore.
At least they got Mad Men right (although I would have loved a nom for one of the ladies on there)

Cheri Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 05:56 AM EST

Where is Mary McDonnell ? She was terrific this season. There's no excuse for her omission.

Z Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 02:29 AM EST

Where was Tyra Banks for host of America's Next Top Model, who has made me laugh uncontrollably constantly at judging. But no, they have to nominate Ryan Seacrest.

Tayler18 Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 01:19 AM EST

Where is Weeds??? in best comedy. i luv 30 rock and the office too. but seriously why two and a half men? at least mary got a nom, but i freakin love justin kirk and kevin nealon on that show!

John Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 01:15 AM EST

Each category had some major snubs

Mia Kirschner has always done exceptional work on the L-Word but this season was one of the finest performances by an actress in a long time. This season each episode she portrayed a different version of Jenny, she was the villian, hero, victim, and victimizer and you believed in her every step of the way.

Catherine Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 12:38 AM EST

Robert Sean Leonard and Anne Dudek from House were robbed. "Wilson's Heart" was a powerful hour of television that deserved to be recongized. It's tragic enough RSL gets overlooked yearly but this year is especially galling.

sara McDaniel Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 12:12 AM EST

John Adams was amazing. Expected but deserved nominations.

matt Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 12:03 AM EST

No Battlestar Gallactica? I recently started watching the seasons on DVD and can't stop watching! It is the BEST DRAMA I've ever seen! Do yourself a favor and check this show out. Mary Mcdonnell is breathtaking!

The fact that Flight of the Conchords is so ruthlessly ignored by the general public makes me want to cry. Every minute of that show is brillant!

Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 12:01 AM EST

Long shot, but I would have loved to see Ed Helms get a nom for The Office.

Trish Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:54 PM EST

I came on here to see if John Adams was nominated and I saw on another website it got 23 nominations!!! Why didn't you put that on here.

Dan Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:44 PM EST

The Wire, arguably the most important television show ever, has been ignored.

Kristi Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:41 PM EST

Oh, and I forgot Brother's & Sister's Why just Sally Field and Rachel Griffiths? The best on the show are Dave Annabel and Matthew Rhys!! I just dont get the Boston Legal nominations at all!

luc Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:38 PM EST

Tracy Morgan from '30 Rock.' Screw Jon Cryer.

Renaissance Blogger Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:34 PM EST

An Emmy list that excludes Friday Night Lights is meaningless and devalues the receipt of an Emmy by anyone who now might win. It's like saying you won the golf tournament... on Tiger's day off.

Kristi Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:29 PM EST

Cat Deeley? for reality tv show host? Where was she? I love Mariska Hargitay..but seriously? There are so many others that should have gotten a nod! Especially Becki Newton!

Sparky Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:19 PM EST

I am livid that Becky Newton and Jake Weber get ignored. Both are so good in their roles! And would someone explain why Charlie Sheen gets nominated for anything?

Annie Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:16 PM EST

I am so sick of James Spader's overacting I could throw up. Thank god it's the last year for Boston Legal. Can't believe all the emmy noms BL got considering this year was their worst yet.

Mack Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:04 PM EST

Where's the great and fabulous Marcia Cross!!!!???!!!

Jeff P Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 11:00 PM EST

When the second half of the Office started in April, I had a gut feeling it was going to win best comedy. Their last half of the season was executed perfectly!

Not happy at all about FNL not getting any noms, but in comparison to the first season, it wasn't on the same level IMO.

Vivi Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:46 PM EST

Desmond from "Lost". Desmond from "Lost". Desmond from "Lost". All I know is that Michaeal Emerson better freakin' win his well-deserved Emmy!

Confused Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:45 PM EST

Does anyone besides Emmy voters even watch Boston Legal? How can anyone think that is a better drama than The Wire or Battlestar Galactica? Can you even call it a drama? As far as I can tell it's full of David Kelly wackiness (stupidity!) and William Shatner hamming it up. Ridiculous

jason Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:39 PM EST

the emmys are so out of it, and are there only white people in the academy? i'm not trying to get on a soapbox, but the list of non-white noms is WAY too small, but yay to chandra an L Yeah! (do we still call vanessa williams that?, i do). i'll never understand that academy there. same old, same old, no risky decisions or surprises. whatever. don't care much about this year's show. oh and yeah, what stick up it's butt does the academy have for "the wire"?? oh yeah, i forgot, there's black people in it, silly me. ok i'm done with that angle. i'll watch the image awards instead.

Mark Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:38 PM EST

I get that Scrubs has been down for the past few years, but no two supporting actors have been better on any show, than Donald Faison and Johnny C. It it a travestshamockery that either has not been recognized for their brilliance.

Silv Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:34 PM EST

I think perennial nominees should remove themselves from competition, quietly (are you listening, Katherine Heigl and Oprah), and without any big announcements. Do Mariska Hargitay, James Spader, and Sally Field really need another award? Let those other worthy actors receive their due. Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights, et al. deserve their shot.

cecil Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:32 PM EST

Could somebody please explain to me why anyone gives a crap about the Emmys?

Zack Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:32 PM EST

Dianne Wiest is great and all but the actress who plays Sophie (Mia Wasikowska)is truly amazing and I think outshines everyone else on the show.

Also....Tony Shaloub? AGAIN? Ok, Emmy, he's OCD, WE GET IT ALREADY!!! GIVE SOMEONE ELSE A TRY!!

mathew Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:31 PM EST

I don't love Desperate Housewives but Marcia Cross deserves a nomination.

Amy Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:32 PM EST

I think, given THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME, that Michael 'Benry' Emerson must be the winner come Emmy night... my faith is in LOST!

Sam Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:32 PM EST

All I know is that Marcia Cross better be nominated and WIN for Best Actress in a Comedy Series before Desperate Housewives goes off air. Without question she is one of the best actresses on TV.

Deanna Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:30 PM EST

WTFF!!! How could Conan not be nominated in the variety category!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:30 PM EST

Friday Night Lights and the Wire again. Why the f is anyone from Two and a Half Men on this list? Go Neil! But seriously underwhelmed. Mariska? WHAT! Connie Briton ANY DAY OF THE WEEK OVER HER.

rayray Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:29 PM EST

THE WIRE...its disappointing that shows like Desperate Housewives(though not this year) get praise and accoledes but THE WIRE doesnt..just as much disappointing is that it is almost exclusively the only HBO show that has not been given a hand job by the EMMY voters who were on their knees for the over hyped Sopranoes..but what do you expect from a bunch of up-tight industry insiders their noms are as bad as the shows they produce.

motherteresa Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:19 PM EST

This year Hugh Laurie better win for best actor. If James Spader wins again than I know that the Emmys are a farce. Hugh Laurie was great this year and especially the final 2 episodes. Also House should also win Best Drama Series. GO HUGH!!!

Dawn Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:14 PM EST

WTF?!!! Where the hell is 2005 winner and two-time nominee Patricia Arquette??!!! That has to be the biggest snub, imo. And Mariska Hargitay and Sally Field AGAIN??? Boring(yawn). But YAAAY for Kyra Sedgwick!!!

And what about Jake Weber for Medium??? That's just wrong. If anyone deserves a nomination in that category, it's him. GIVE THAT MAN AN EMMY ALREADY!!!!

YAAAY for Anjelica Huston!!! She def deserves an Emmy for her role on Medium!

I'm spittin' mad about Arquette and Weber's snubs, and about Holly freakin' Hunter gettin' a nomination!! (She is 100% USDA certified canned ham) Other than that, the nominees are just plain boring to me. Nothing exciting at all. Just blah.

hmmm Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 09:04 PM EST

yay: LOST, Dexter, Mad Men, Michael Emerson, Micahel Giaachino [Lost Composer]

BOO: THE WIRE... [i'm speechless. this show is a show that will go down in history as a immaculate, smart, well written, well acted show! and it has never recieved a Major Nomination? not one? WTF?]

also BOO: for no Friday Night Lights, Henry Ian Cusick, Yunjin Kim, Matthew Fox, and No Writing/Directing Nominations for LOST!

UGH!

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:53 PM EST

I cannot believe that Robert Sean Leonard did not get a nod for Supporting Actor for House! Did they not see his brilliant performance in the season finale. Hugh Laurie definitely deserves to win. But as for the show House, season 4 was the worst of the series and wouldn't be surprised if it didn't win.

Deon Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:47 PM EST

Is this a joke??? where in the hell are the Actress from Desperate Housewives?? you have got to be kidding me! Marcia Cross, Dana Delany, and Eva Longria DESERVE to be on that list! That show came right back up to speed last season and this ladies were Fantastic!! what bull!!

Cher Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:46 PM EST

Glad Jericho at least got a nomination for Special Effects. Now we know why it cost so much per episode, those producers were going for quality! Brad Beyer deserved at least a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the dead scene with Bonnie and the finale if not the Emmy itself!!

mat Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:43 PM EST

Boston Legal again? its such a mediocre show. Mad Men is good but overrated. So is Damages. The BEST shows on TV (nomination or not) are THE WIRE, BSG and LOST. Michael Emerson deserves the Emmy for best supporting actor.

Scott Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:36 PM EST

How did Pushing Daisies not get a nod for best Comedy series? This is insane. And if Tony Shalhoub gets another dam emmy or Ryan Seacrest walks home with a statue for is Cirque du Seacrest b.s. I swear...since when do people on E! get Emmys?

NightShade Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:33 PM EST

Cheers for the Special Effects Nomination for Jericho's Team! Jeers for not recognizing with a nomination nod: Lennie James, Skeet Ulrich, D.B. Sweeney, Esai Morales, Shoshanna Stern, and Brad Beyer for world class flawless performances that make big screen actors look like reality show contestants!

Alex Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:23 PM EST

I gave up on the Emmys years ago. Do these people even watch television?? Half the time they just pick the most famous people or shows that are attached to the most famous people, which seems to be an insulting assumption that if you used to be in movies, you must be a better actor than someone who's only been in television. Ridiculous.
My personal gripes:
Matthew Fox - love or hate Jack, he did some amazing work this year!
Chi McBride - his delivery is THE funniest part of Pushing Daises!
The nomination of Damages - I tried to get into this show. Repeatedly. It bored me to tears and I saw the final plot point coming from a mile away. The pilot of Alias accomplished essentially same premise (albeit different genre) in one episode that they prolonged for a whole season.

G Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:23 PM EST

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES got ROBBED!!!!! WTF!?

rick Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 08:11 PM EST

what about brothers & sisters for drama...eva longoria was hilarious on dh, as was marcia cross. boston legal? really? charlie sheen? do people out there really think he can act, much less is funny? wow.

Temis Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:58 PM EST

Mary McDonnell deserved a nomination, so did Chi McBride, Elizabeth Moss and Lost in the writing category. Michael Emerson deserves to win, but so many of his co-stars are worthy - Henry Ian Cusick, Naveen Andrews, Josh Holloway, Terry O'Quinn. They could just turn the Supporting Actor category over to Lost.

Kathy Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:52 PM EST

Snubbed!! Part 2

Matthew Fox, Yunjin Kim and agree with earlier comments David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel (both great in Bones).

Nana Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:49 PM EST

I think The Closer deserved more nominations.I sincerely hope that the networks don't pay any attention to the critics!! If they cancel The Closer I will be devastated!!!!

Kelly Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:47 PM EST

How could the Emmys overlook Brad Beyer's stellar performance as Stanley Richmond, "Jericho," CBS? As he signed his goodbyes ("thank you....") to deaf baby sis Bonnie (Shoshanna Stern), he grabbed viewers' hearts and never let go. It was an oustanding television moment, every emotion carried in barely a whisper.

lilmyatery Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:47 PM EST

No BONES nom's!!!!!!!!! What's up with that!??!! What a GREAT, UNDERATED show.

susanc Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:44 PM EST

Agree with posters re Mia W. from "In Treament". Amazing acting. Rooting for Gabriel Byrne. Am happy he was nominated but don't think he'll win. Not flashy enough.

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:39 PM EST

When is "Bones" gonna get some love. They ride the balance between Drama/Comedy like no one else. It's way better than Lost or Mad Men

Kathy Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:38 PM EST

Snubbed!!!
Friday Night Lights and Breaking Bad for best drama, Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Ray Wise (Reaper), Henry Ian Cusick (Lost), January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks (Mad Men)

JT Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:27 PM EST

The Emmy voters really need to watch tv for a change. Ellen Pompeo deserved to be there. She was phenomenal in season 4. I have hope the Golden Globes will reward her for it.

Jen Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:25 PM EST

To all Boston Legal haters out there, to coin a phrase from Ms. Kathy Griffin - SUCK IT. BL's only fault has been the fact that it's too smart for most 18-49ers. Sorry guys, it's true. Spader, Shatner & Bergen have all done brilliant, consistent work from day one & deserve all kudos given. David E. Kelley doesn't have to pay off anyone to keep him on top. His work, in BL especially, speaks for itself & always will. Besides, next season is Boston Legal's last, so stop crying... so I can start. *sigh* That being said;

I think this is FINALLY Hugh Laurie's year for Best Actor. The last season of House MD was amazing! Urie & Newton from Ugly Betty were totally snubbed! I never have understood - why all the noms for Two & 1/2 Men? Jon Cryer's awesome, but REALLY? Having a "Reality" category is completely laughable & ironic. Grey's & Housewives lamed out, don't try to front. I'm sick of people blaming the writers for everything. SHUT it already! Yay Dexter! Psych, Eli & Burn Notice...?

michelle m of los angeles Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:22 PM EST

Holly Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:19 PM EST

No Yunjin Kim (Sun) from Lost? Are you KIDDING me??? Did any of the Emmy voters see the last episode? Candice Bergen?!?! Doesn't she already have a vault full of Emmys? Bah! Michael Emerson will have to carry the weight for the whole brilliant cast.

Sarah Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:18 PM EST

The Wire, the wire, the wire. Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler. Matthew Fox and others on Lost are always stellar. Why do people like Entourage and (gag) Boston Legal so much? Unbelievable.

magie Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:08 PM EST

ELLEN POMPEO deserves an award, not just a nod.

Janeen Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:07 PM EST

Gee whiz. I'd better go back and look again, because I'm pretty sure I didn't see ANY mention of "Moonlight." Doesn't surprise me, though. People have no taste.

Thomas B. Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:06 PM EST

Mad Men, Lost, Curb and Dexter should NOT be on that Emmy list.
Because they're GREAT shows.
And GREAT shows no longer belong with the Emmys.
Obviously.
Whoever has ever watched a season of the WIRE, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, CALIFORNICATION, BREAKING BAD or FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS will know what i'm talking about.
And if you're a fan of any of these shows but have never given the others a try, do yourself a favor---
cheers

Andi Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 07:01 PM EST

I am once again disappointed that The Wire was shut out of every category. The best, most provocative series on television for the last five years, has never been recognized and its shameful.

Mar Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:55 PM EST

Wait! Where are all the People of Color Nominees?? Oh yea- there are like on Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy and the Wire. humph...humph said a voice.

Mel Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:44 PM EST

I'm glad Grey's didn't get nomimated. Oh and Wilson didn't have great storylines last season, so not sure why they are nominated. Felt bad Patrick Dempsey didn't get in, even though I don't want Grey's to win anything. Kyle Chandler DESERVED to be in the Best Male category, and that Sheldon guy from Big Bang Theory. Love that show.

EF Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:29 PM EST

Why didn't 24 get any nominations? Oh that's right,it wasn't on this year because of the writer's strike.
BOO!!!!!!!

Sheri Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:28 PM EST

Maura Tierney is the only reason I still watch ER and she is never recognized. The woman is an amazing talent - an acting lesson on every episode.

Ashley Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:25 PM EST

The glorious Mary McDonnell indeed. She lights up the screen with just her left eyeball. What are these people thinking? Long live Mary McAwesome.

Jessica(again) Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:21 PM EST

I also really wish that Bones would get some love-a terrific ensemble cast that is bouyed by amazing writers. Emily and David deserve acting noms as much as anyone that made the cut! I also want to send out a special shoutout to tw riveting Lost actors: Henry Ian Cusick and Matthew Fox. Both gave some of their best performances this year and should be acknowledged for it. Kudos to Michael Emerson's nomination!

Jessica Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:18 PM EST

I was hoping that list was a cruel joke. I say ditto to all those that are baffled by Boston Legal's noms and that lack of same for so many other deserving shows. I've seen 5 minutes of BL, which was more than enough. Happy for Lost although I would have loved noms for writing, direction, and other actors. Yay for NPH, Rainn, Lee, Kristen, and FotC! Now if only the Emmys would get it right and hand any of them a damn statuette...

LENCHO Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:08 PM EST

Big Bang Theory always makes me laugh. I didn't expect it to be nominated for best comedy series, it still has some rough spots. But I can't understand the snub of Jim Parsons for supporting actor in a comedy. His work as Sheldon is right on the same level as the supporting work of Don Knotts, John Larroquette, and Laurie Metcalf. He has his character perfected, and he should receive some acknowledgement.
Would have also liked to see some noms for The Riches. And I have noticed that the fever for Heroes must have worn off. I don't see it mentioned anywhere, but then again I haven't read every single comment.

fussbucket Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:04 PM EST

I agree, Flight of the Conchords totally got snubbed. It should of got nominated ahead of Two and a Half Men. HELL, anything should have been nominated ahead of Two and a Half Men. That show is so much crap.

Lindsay Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 06:00 PM EST

Some notable ommissions:

* Sarah Chalke - outstanding guest spot on HIMYM
* Michaela Conlin - Bones
* Allyson Hannigan - HIMYM
* Matthew Ryhs - Sienna Miller's sex life (or Brothers & Sisters, if we must)
* Leighton Meeister - Gossip Girl

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:58 PM EST

Needed some Henry Ian Cusick. He's the best thing about LOST.

Rooting for Ryan Seacrest (or Heidi..though Ryan does more "hosting" than she does). And David Morse better win supporting actor in a mini-series or movie. He was amazing in John Adams. Pretty much rooting for John Adams for everything. A great mini-series.

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:57 PM EST

No Pushing Daisies for Best Comedy?!
It would also have been wonderful to see Henry Ian Cusick, Robert Sean Leonard, Yunjin Kim, Anna Friel, Chi McBride, Maura Tierney, Kristin Wiig, Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, and Phil Keoghan.

MrFord Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:54 PM EST

Well, where to begin. This year was a little better than last year, but there were still so many shows that got snubbed! How I Met Your Mother and Scrubs.

But the one thing that up setted me was Flight of the Conchords not getting nominated for Best Comedy Series. Kudos for getting nominated in writing, directing and original music but where's the big one? I didn't feel that it had a shot originally, but when it's name came up on the shortlist I was totally ready to see it get nominated. What a tragedy.

I would have also liked to see Rhys Darby in Best Supporting Actor. He had no shot at it, but in my mind he's nominated with Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillon, Rainn Wilson, and NPH.

But overall not too bad.

tets Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:53 PM EST

Ellen Pompeo should have been in that list. Dana Delaney too... The Wire...FNL...I could go on but would hurt too much.

Ella Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:52 PM EST

Maura Tierney for ER. Her portrayal of Abby Lockhart is always compelling and keeps me tuning in.

LW Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:48 PM EST

I'm glad that Mad Men, Lost, 30 Rock, and The Office got noms, but what will it take to get Two and A Half Men, Boston Legal, and Charlie Sheen off the the tired list of noms?

Khalid Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:46 PM EST

I wasn't the least bit surprised that The Wire was once again throughly disregarded by the Academy. The work that this amazing group of artists has put together since the show's inception is everything that any of us could ever hope for a drama to be: thought provoking, heart breaking, brutally honest and revealing of many basic human truths. Maybe this latest snub will be enough to make the academy take a look at changing the process. The submission process, as it stands now, is set up to punish series that dig deep and make the audience pay attention from one episode to the next. Its simply not possible to watch one cold viewing of one episode of The Wire and have any sense of what is happening in the narrative. The Wire demands that the viewer pay close attention and follow the story line from show to show, season to season. I propose that each series be allowed to submit 3 episodes to be considered as a group for best drama. This seems like a very workable compromise.

Jill Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:45 PM EST

Betty wuz robbed!

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:43 PM EST

My beloved Flight of the Conchords gets no love? They got some song nominations, but it really should have gotten a Best Comedy Series nomination as well. It is one of the funniest shows on TV, and I was given false hope by its appearance on the short list. Bret and Jemaine both needed nominations too, instead of the unfunny Charlie Sheen and Tony Shalhoub. I also wish Pushing Daisies would have been up for comedy series, but I'm happy with its acting nominations. The Office, too- Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson, but no John Krasinski or Jenna Fischer, my favorite things about that show. Oh, well- Go, Lost, everyone from 30 Rock, Michael Emerson and Neil Patrick Harris!

QB1 Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:38 PM EST

How could they leave out Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton from FNL? They are so out of touch with reality!

sarah j Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:33 PM EST

COLUMBO, I just saw your note. You are absolutely right about Ed O'Neill. His work in JFC was superb! There were many fine performances in that series, now that I think about it, but he was truly outstanding in that show. Bravo!!

Bethany Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:31 PM EST

The Wire didn't get nominated for best Drama AGAIN? Are you people kidding me? No wonder the American public continues to skip these awards ceremonies. They are a joke!

Of course, I do hope that Julia Louis Dreyfus wins again!

sarah j Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:31 PM EST

I would have liked to have seen Jane Krakowsky (spelling?) from 30 Rock get a nomination.

Johnny Pomatto Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:23 PM EST

I've given up on the Academy seeing the greatness of The Wire, but why was Rescue Me ignored? Dennis Leary gives one of the most exciting performances on tv, and the show is far better than other FX shows like Damages

Laura Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:20 PM EST

My picks:
COMEDY SERIES-The Office
ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES-Lee Pace, Pushing Daisies or Tony Shalhoub, Monk
ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES-America Ferrera, Ugly Betty
SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES-Rainn Wilson, The Office
SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES-Kristin Chenoweth, Pushing Daisies or Vanessa Williams, Ugly Betty
GUEST ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES-none
GUEST ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES-none

Delon Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:12 PM EST

Where's Elizabeth Perkins?!? OMG, she is rubbed again!!! OUTRAGE! OUTRAGE! Why's Christina Applegate is nominated? It should have been Anna Friel instead of her. Two and a Half Men?!?! How about Reno 911? How about Michael Urie instead of Jon Cryer?

Holly Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:10 PM EST

Hello? The Tudors....Where are they on the nomination list?! Natalie Dormer was superb this season.

John Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:05 PM EST

Tracy Morgan. . .snubbed? Are you kidding me? He's the weakest part of the show. I love the character, but he along with commercials are reasons alone for DVR's fast forward button.

Gabby Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 05:04 PM EST

Dan, I agree with your comment about January Jones. At first I read her performance as wooden, but it gradually dawned on me that she was playing it straight without any of the usual affectations that most actors assume. It's refreshing, and it makes Betty all the more interesting.

columbo Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:59 PM EST

Ed O'Neill shoulda been nominated for his work in John From Cincinatti. That is All.

AW Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:59 PM EST

Ok maybe I am obsessed with reality competition shows but seriously...where my fav Tyra and the rest of ladies from America's Next Top Model

AW Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:58 PM EST

Ok maybe I am obsessed with reality competition shows but seriously...where my fav Tyra and the rest of ladies from America's Next Top Model

CandyMaize Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:51 PM EST

I *knew* it wouldn't happen, but apparently had just enough hope left in me that I was STILL disappointed that JENSEN ACKLES (Supernatural) was left out for Lead Actor/Drama.

The show is great, as is his co-star Jared Padalecki .. but Jensen has serious acting chops. He consistently gives outstanding performances in every scene he is in, every episode. And since his show only has 2 regular characters - he's in a LOT of scenes .. and still manages to always bring "Dean" to life as a real person.

I know that the show's genre isn't the most popular and the CW doesn't support/promote the show - but folks are really missing out. And Jensen is so dang good looking that too many people probably stop & drool and think he's just eye candy ... but he offers so much more than that! Again, folks are really missing out ...
AND the Emmy's really missed the boat when they overlooked Jensen this year!

Karin Buchanan Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:42 PM EST

How about The Tudors? Burn Notice? Big Bang Theory? (I laugh out loud at every episode) What about Eureka? Life? Eli Stone?

Marcie K Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:37 PM EST

I would love to see the guys from Psych. That is a funny show

Jason Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:34 PM EST

The Good - 30 Rock's 17 nominations, Mad Men's 16 nominations, Bryan Cranston for Breaking Bad, Ted Danson and "Hey It's That Guy" Zejko from Damages, the Wire's writing nomination, and Amy Poehler for SNL.

The Bad - No major nominations for Big Love, The Wire, The Riches, Friday Night Lights, or Battlestar Galactica. Sorry I don't watch Desperate Housewives so I can't throw support their way.

The Ugly - Boston Legal, James Spader, and Willam Shatner. David Kelley is paying someone to keep his reputation afloat. Two and a Half Men. Charlie Sheen has never. been. funny. ever. Ever.

Troy Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:28 PM EST

Jenna Fisher as Pam for The Office?
Tracy Morgan for 30 Rock?
David Duchovny for Californication?
Mary McDonnell for Battlestar?

These should ALL be no brainers.

PS - yey Bryan Cranston!

Sara Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:27 PM EST

I am so excited to watch this show, to see if KATHY GRIFFIN wins in either of her categories.... also to see live footage of her "Straight to Hell" hilarious special in front of all those celebs. Love her!!! Go Kathy!

Mike Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:26 PM EST

Dana Delaney--I don't get her omission whatsoever. She won for "China Beach" so she's on the Emmy radar. The comedy category is tough for the women, but still, she could have easily edged out America or Tina Fey, whose shows both had lackluster years.

Jill Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:25 PM EST

Glad to see Holland Taylor and Jon Cryer on the list. They are the best parts about that show. Another example of the "supporting" actors being better than the "lead" actors. And why James Spader again? It's like Helen Hunt and Candace Bergen.....enough already.

Dan Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:24 PM EST

I can't believe that none of the women on Madmen got nominated - they are all so amazing and give such unmannered and unexpected performances. January Jones is so strange but so perfect in that role - she is just amazing without being very actory (as are all of the performers for that matter).

Supernatural fan Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:17 PM EST

JENSEN ACKLES. Never have I seen an actor that has the type of range he does.

And Supernatural in general. One of the best dramas I have ever seen. Watch the CW on Thursday evenings. Crying, whining Izzie is getting so old, these guys on Supernatural are so refreshing, funny and witty.
It also doesn't hurt that they are super yummy as well!!!

Sarah Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:07 PM EST

No 'Wire'??? Or 'In Treatment' or 'Closer'??? *sigh* I don't get it.

Two and a Half Men and/or Charlie Sheen should be nowhere NEAR an Emmy.

Meghan Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:06 PM EST

Flight of the Conchords definitely got snubbed...

Keiht Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:05 PM EST

Yes, Connie Britton's omission is a nightmare! She deserves the win.

DanOregon Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:05 PM EST

Agree on the FNL and Wire snubs. Best nomination? Bryan Cranston for Breaking Bad.

Pamela Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:02 PM EST

Yay for Kristen Chenoweth! I am really pleased to see this particular nomination, as well as that for Zeljko Ivanek for his work on Damages (though I'd also have liked to have seen Ted Danson recognised too. Maybe for next season!). Boo to the boring: Entourage; Two and a Half Men; Jeremy Piven; James Spader, Tony Shalhoub - again? Taking out these oft-repeat noms (really now, are they worth it?) would have given innovative/daring shows such as The Wire and Flight of the Conchords a decent go at a nom. But no, Emmy plays it relatively safe again.

However, I trust that the shows/actors that missed out (in additional to those I've mentioned above:BSG, FNL, Emily Deschanel, Robert Sean Leonard, hosts of others) know that their fan base still loves and respects what they do even if Emmy voters have a blind spot, or three.

Tipo Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 04:01 PM EST

WEEDS.
NOT UP FOR BEST COMEDY.
BUT TWO & A HALF MEN IS.

This is DISGUSTING.

Lauren Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:58 PM EST

I wish I was surprised Mary McDonnell didn't get nommed again. It never fails to be disappointing. Her show may be crap nowadays but they actually her something to do this year and since she's Mary McDonnell she predictably rocked it.

Mel Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:58 PM EST

Why Boston Legal? This is just another David E. Kelley dramedy that uses the same worn-out schtick that was fresh back when it was called Picket Fences. Now, it just sucks wind.

The Wire got robbed like Barksdale's stash by Omar.

Rasha Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:51 PM EST

I'm going to get creamed for saying this, but Jensen Ackles of the underrated "Supternatural" deserved to at least be on the short list. Yes, the CW hit only reaches about 3 millions viewers a week. Yes, it's very hit or miss (mostly miss thanks to the writers' strike). Yes, it's about monsters. But watch Jensen Ackles poor so much life, emotion, fun and emotion into that character week after week, season after season, and you'll be saying "YES, YES, YES! NOMINATE HIS GOREGOUS ASS FOR AN EMMY!" I hate that his talent is so overlooked.

sockigal Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:50 PM EST

Can't believe Battlestar Galactica didn't get any noms. One of the best shows on Television, incredible cast, and unpredictible story lines. Every week in like watching a full length, really great popcorn movie. Too bad the voters don't watch the best show on TV. They are definitly missing out!!!

Amy Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:49 PM EST

ROBERT SEAN LEONARD!!! He has been a solid actor on House for years, but his performance in this past season finale was phenomenal and heart-breaking. The best acting I've seen on television in a long time. His exclusion from the nominees is inexcusable.

Rasha Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:47 PM EST

Nina Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:47 PM EST

This is actually a pretty good list of nominees. I'd have liked to have seen "Friday Night Lights" and "The Wire" get some love, and I don't understand the "Boston Legal" thing, but by and large these are very solid nominations.

ITA that this is the wrong year to cry about BSG not getting nominated. It should've gotten more nods in the past, but this last season was fairly lackluster.

Rick Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:44 PM EST

I don't understand the attention BSG gets. At best in is a decent sci-fi show but usually it's unwatchable and stupid. Seriously I could not get though the entire first season. Is everybody a damn Cylon. How the hell can you fix a broken Cylon ship with a hole in it by plugging it with a shirt, then fly it around space even doing tricks in a ship you have never ever been inside. Thank God the robot Ship has air too, otherwise the annoying Starbuck would/should have died.

buckley Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:44 PM EST

I agree with everyone who thinks Kristen Wigg is the person to recognize at SNL...
the woman is genius.
Penelope anyone?

donner Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:43 PM EST

the snubs always suck, but I am tickled to see 30 Rock, The Office, Extras and Pushing Daisies get some love...

csat Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:41 PM EST

I dont understand why the Wire cant see a NOD just once. I dont think the academy even watches TV..they probable pick up a TV guide and spend 5 minutes browsing and there you go!!

By the way..SAMANTHA WHO?? Applegate and Smart?? Wasnt that show on for like 3 episodes. Maybe without the strike and a full season, look at them next year....but the the heck are they thinking!!

The Tudors is from Showtime, not HBO.

Allison Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:37 PM EST

JAMES SPADER???AGAIN? AGAIN??????? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY? CHARLIE SHEEN AGAIN? AGAIN????????????????? WAKE UP EMMYS!!

Michelle Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:36 PM EST

Do the Emmy voters even watch television?! It seems like they nominate the same people (and some of the same crap) every year. Have they even seen BSG or The Wire? I mean, C'MON! I'm sure if they watched even one episode of those shows, they would see that they warrant a nomination, if not a win.

Crystal Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:36 PM EST

The noms this year are particularly annoying, too many snubs to even type. I'm happy for Mad Men, but Vincent should have the Supporting nod, I think.

Tania Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:35 PM EST

It's unfortunate that two undeserved shows got nominated in the Best Drama category. Lost and Boston Legal bumped The Wire and In Treatment as far as I'm concerned. Two very smart and intelligent shows get snubbed for those two overrated programs.

Stunning performances from The Wire, In Treatment, Damages and Mad Men (other than the ones already nominated) were snubbed for likes of those in Grey's Anatomy. James Spader again for Best Actor? Charlie Sheen for the unfunny Two and Half Men?

Finally, Friday Night Lights got exactly what it deserved which is absolutely nothing. At least something good came out of the nominations.

I need a drink. >:(

ruba Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:35 PM EST

The biggest snub of all is for the great period HBO show "The Tudors"
it didn't get any nominations.

Joseph massimino Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:35 PM EST

Yeh, Love 2 1/2 Men too. There is so much great TV, that is why we have two Tivo's. HD Tivo is the best. We don't have to choose between any two or four showes at any time. We get them all, and watch them all. By the time we get done with this season, next season has already started. That leaves no down time. We work all year, so we like great TV all year.
Let's not forget The Closer, and The Wire.

Buckley Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:34 PM EST

BSG!
it's a travesty this show doesn't get any recognition form Emmy's. It's a thousand times better than anything else listed here....except maybe The Wire

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:31 PM EST

I love Amy Poehler and I think it is fantastic that she is nominated. I love her Nancy Grace.

tess Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:29 PM EST

I don't understand how two and a half men is better than Psych. Psych is one of the funniest shows on TV even though they have to keep it going for a whole hour.

fishpaw Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:29 PM EST

The best catagory???? Supporting Actress in a Comedy. I will be smiling on who ever wins. Just Glad I don't have to vote.

NineDaves.com Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:28 PM EST

there are a lot of posts on here, and i can't go through them all to see if i'm repeating, so i'll just say - hell yeah for sharon gless!

Joseph massimino Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:27 PM EST

Top 10 best TV - Not in any specific order.
Boston Legal Supernatural
Saving Grace
Smallville
Grays Anatomy
30 Rock < Funny, Funny, Funny
Californication Dexter Lost is not on the list, but I watch every show. I do not put it on the list because I still don't have a clear picture of what the big picture is.
Jericho < Did it get canceled again? Loved it.
Pushing Daises
CSI

Frank Miller Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:27 PM EST

What, no '24'? Oh wait... damn writers strike. LOL

GO, DEXTER!!! That's awesome. But The Wire (once again) was SCREWED.

Vivi Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:15 PM EST

ugh so sick of those greys anatomy women getting nominated for best supporting actress. their spots could have easily been filled by yunjin kim or any of the ladies from mad men. seriously, where is elizabeth moss?? and how do people not realize that tracy morgan is the funniest person on 30 rock? I think vincent kartheiser was snubbed for mad men too. happy for bryan cranston and jon hamm tho

Isobel Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:11 PM EST

Uhm... the reason why the Emmy noms are why they are is b/c the judges are mostly older folks who neither seen nor heard of BSG or WEEDS or CALIFORNICATION -- They LOOVE 2&1/2 Men & Mad Men b/c it's from their white, patriarchal "kiss me kitten" generation -- ie no irony, no multi-layered subtext or no cultural diversity. Frankly -- MM just creeps me the hell out!

Check out their secret judges emails during the Emmy Semi-finals: http://goldderby.latimes.com/awards_goldderby/2008/07/emmy-top-10-new.html

Reba Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:10 PM EST

snubbed = How I Met Your Mother. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton. Jason Segel. Jenna Fischer. Chi McBride.

Crossing my fingers for NPH, Michael Emerson, and Chenoweth.

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:09 PM EST

2 words - Conan O'Brien!

Darcie Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:05 PM EST

the emmy's always seem to be conducted by the oldest of fogies. Monk? Two and a half men? Remember the awful Ray Romano run? Ugh. My heart soared when Flight of the Conchords was on the top ten list for best comedy, but I knew, there was not a shot in New Zealand that the show would get any love... FNL was robbed too!

bird Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:01 PM EST

I still have to scratch my head at all the noms for "Two And A Half Men" and "Boston Legal". Geez. Michael Emerson of "Lost" is richly deserved, but [and we knew this was coming when the 10 finalists were leaked] the omission of anything for "Friday Night Lights" is inexcusable.

CJ Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:01 PM EST

Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory was robbed; I cannot see anyone else doing his character even half as well.

Nancy Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:01 PM EST

I've read a lot of comments about Desperate Housewives getting snubbed, and I just wanted to add my 2 cents here. I don't think Desperate Housewives deserved any noms this year, even for Dana Delaney or the always perfect Marcia Cross. The writing on that show has suuuucked for the last two years. Yes, this past season was better, and I don't mind taking a leap of faith (or ignoring the obvious) to make a plot work, but DH required a transcontinental flight of faith for me to stay with it. It's entertaining, and all of the cast is fantastic (especially Cross, Huffman, Longoria, Delaney), but I think it got exactly the reward it earned this year. I hope for better next year, but the writing needs to improve - a lot.

Toddie Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 03:00 PM EST

I am raging against the machine that (a) LOST was not nominated in the writing category for "The Constant;" that nomination must be in the time loop that the island has fallen into, cuz' it sure ain't here; (b) Mia Wasikowska was not nominated for supporting actress for her incandescent portrayal of Sophie on In Treatment; and (c) the complete and utter indifference to The Wire. Grr.

Roy Onyebetor Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:58 PM EST

Friday Night Lights. One of the best dramas on TV gets ignored. Again.

Kathleen Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:58 PM EST

Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton are gimmes... but how about Zach Gilford as well? The bathroom scene between Coach and Saracen where he realized how everyone was prone to leaving him... that should have earned him and nod right there! I would love to be able to rail about no Jenna Fisher/John Krasinski nods, but they weren't as good as they were in Season 2. I'll give you Dana Delany... Ginnfer Goodwin... how about Jennifer Carpenter... or Elizabeth Moss... and my final yearly complaint... John C. McGinley. The man has been putting out fantastic material for years and yet only Zach Braff gets any Scrubs love from the Emmys, which is a shame.

Keith Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:57 PM EST

It's really a shame Mia Michaels wasn't nominated for choreography/dance performance for that gorgeous routine she choreographed about her father on "So You Think You Can Dance." I love Shane Sparks, but the Transformers piece has got nothing on that. Wade and Mandy deserved their noms though.

Matt Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:57 PM EST

jaime, michael emerson was not snubbed... hes nominated for supporting actor

Adrien Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:56 PM EST

Jorja Fox short season with CSI this year should have been recognized by the Emmy's. She was brilliant, you felt the emotional pain that her character was going through which is more than I can say for any of the nominee's from Grey Antomy. I only felt glad that none of them were really doctors.

Matt Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:56 PM EST

Jenna Fischer was robbed!!!

Matt Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:56 PM EST

Henry Ian Cusick of LOST should have been nominated in the drama supporting actor category. His work this season, especially in "The Constant" was some of the best acting of the entire series this far.

Lois Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:54 PM EST

I Think Lost is the Best Drama & Office is the Best Comedy !!! Hope They BOTH win .

jt086 Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:50 PM EST

i don't understand why EW critics don't love Damages. Each episode and it's actors are amazing. like mini-movies each week, definitely deserving of the acolades it recieves.

Melissa Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:49 PM EST

hhb, I don't know you, but I think we share a brain. Those were my thoughts exactly.

Nikki Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:48 PM EST

Not only was The Wire snubbed AGAIN!!!! but My Name is Earl put out quality episodes (as usual). What the heck are these people watching, just what the critics recommend or do they all work at 30 ROCK!!!!Michael L. Williams, Clarke Peters, Ed Burns, so many people completely overlooked and let's not forget WEEDS! MLP is great but she has a lot of great support in that ensemble!!! Even the waif Olsen twin was believable, jeez!

Jamie Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:47 PM EST

Forgot to say...WhywhywhywhyWHY were Henry Ian Cusick, Michael Emerson and Yunjin Kim snubbed?

Justin Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:47 PM EST

Henry Ian Cusick, hands down... I know he was snubbed way back when they came out with the semifinalists, but I still fail to fathom how he wasn't nominated for his performance in "The Constant" - and through season 4 in its entirety.. Sure, he may have still lost to Michael Emerson, but he deserved to be nominated.

wg Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:46 PM EST

WHY isn't CHI MCBRIDE nominated???!!! He DEFINES subtle brilliance and steals every scene in Pushing Daisies (that The Chenowith doesn't run away with, but usually they carry the scene away together)! Otherwise, PD's 12 other nominations are acceptable. :)

strickens_girl Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:45 PM EST

I can't believe that BSG didn't get anything. But I was happy to see noms for Dexter and Top Chef. Yay!! And Two and a Half Men? Really?!?! Does anyone actually watch that show?

hhb Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:45 PM EST

Virtually everyone from Friday Night Lights deserves a nomination, but the ommission of Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler is most egregious. Big Bang Theory is a better show than Two and a Half Men, and Jim Parsons (Sheldon) should have been nominated.

Lisa Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:43 PM EST

* Anyone from Big Bang - especially the actor who plays Sheldon. He's awesome!
* How I Met Your Mother
* Supernanny
* My Name is Earl - the acting is great from all around
* Brothers & Sisters - as a drama and Calista Flockhart

Dawn Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:42 PM EST

Are you kidding me? What about The Wire? This show is nothing short of a work of art. If I had to watch nonsense like Two and a Half Men or Boston Legal I would put my head in the oven.

voltumna Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:42 PM EST

anyone from Bones. Great performances, underrated show.

Luminosity Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:33 PM EST

Best show ever = PSYCH

Alex Williams Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:30 PM EST

The Most Glaring Snubbees (in no particular order)
Maura Tierney (ER); Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard (The Riches); Dana Delaney (Desperate Housewives); Tracy Morgan (30 Rock); Bill Hader (SNL).

Eva Longoria on Desperate Housewives. They have always snubbed her.

motherofautumn Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:27 PM EST

Yunjin Kim!

Jane Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:23 PM EST

I cannot believe Battlestar Gallactica has been overlooked AGAIN!
I rented 1 dvd of BSG couldn't stop watching! Provocative writing, fierce, passioante complex characters and a thought-provoking social premise. I'll live out my revenge with hits like Californication & Weeds & Saving Grace, I s'pose...

trent Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:22 PM EST

let's see, since tv is so absolutely ethnically challenged, it looks nothing like America, maybe 1940's Europe, but America 2008. I predict that Emmy will punish any series with the most minority actors or ethnically themed show. PROOF? The Wire was the best show on tv and they were ignored because of their theme and actors, so with that standard...I predict that Mad Men should sweep , that show is devoid of all minorities, no wonder they are such a favorite.

Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:22 PM EST

Survivor is so much better then Dancing with the Stars - I still have no idea why that show is so popular - I guess America loves cheese. Hooray for Jeff Probst though!

Barbara Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:21 PM EST

I'm with Shaun above, did the nominating committee even see "The Constant" - HENRY IAN CUSICK gave a stunning emmy award-caliber performance!

JJ Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:21 PM EST

No recoginition for Kyle Chandler or Connie Britton from FNL! Yet, James Spader gets nominated again!!!! Just don't understand!

Jalal Haddad Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:16 PM EST

Yunjin Kim from Lost as Sun was snubbed. She was amazing this season. Dana Delaney on Desperate Housewives as Katherine. She saved the show. I'm sick of the nominees being repeats: Tony Shaloub in Monk, James Spader i Boston Legal.

Kim Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:16 PM EST

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!! I hope the Cylons destroy them all! Who votes for these things? It's outrageous! The show and every actor was robbed.

On a lighter note: I am glad Kristen Chenoweth got a nod for Pushing Daisies. She's the best thing on that show. Bloody brilliant, but it's going to be tough because Vanessa Williams for Ugly Betty is awesome as well (though I liked her in the previous season more)

queen of disrepair Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:14 PM EST

Maybe more actors from Lost would have been nominated if the categories were named "Best in Dharma".

Bethann Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:14 PM EST

Once again, I am baffled as to "Two and a Half men" and "Curb..." get nominated along with Tony Shaloub. I was surprised that "Entourage" scored a nod considering that last season was awful. Where's the love for "How I Met Your Mother" and "Pushing Daisies"? And as a loyal "Scrubs" fan, I can't help but be bummed that Dr. Cox himself (John C. McGinley) NEVER scores a nod. I love "FNL", but this past season was uneven so I wasn't surprised it was shut out of the Best Drama catagory, but I would like to see Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton nominated (the SEXIEST couple on TV IMHO). I think that the cast of "Lost" deserves more love, but I felt all of their performances were strong this year so it would be hard to single anyone besides Michael Emerson out. Can someone please give Jenna Fischer a nom for her tortured, understated Pam on "The Office"? She does more with a look than many do with a page of dialogue. And Chi Mc Bride was great on "Pushing Daisies"...

Andrea Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:11 PM EST

Hey, if the Emmy people are loving cable, why leave out Psych and Burn Notice? Both are WAY better than Damages. And I love Glenn Close, but not that show. James Roday and Dule Hill may be the best comedy match up in years. Many, many years. Can't wait 'til Friday night. Summer is becoming the best Tv season, with Runway, Psych and Burn Notice. Oh -- Chuck was a great addition last year, too. Zach Levi deserved some love, and the cast of Lost, which was incredible last year.

Rebecca Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:10 PM EST

I see that - once again - 'Battlestar Galactica' and it's cast got ignored. At this point I am not surprised; like every other awards show the Emmys would rather play it safe than give recognition to a *gasp!* "sci-fi" show.

Jillian Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:06 PM EST

I am dumbfounded that James Spader and Boston leagal yet again get nominated! Please god let Hugh Laurie FINALLY get his well deserved EMMY this year. Biggest snubs are for The Wire, and BSG and Robert Sean Leonard from House, why is he never in the best supporting actor list?

Alex S Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:05 PM EST

Nobody got nominated from FX's New Classic TV Cop drama "The Shield"??? I thought that it would have Michael Chitlis for Best Actor and Walton Goggins for Best Supporting, both gave incredible performances....

Alex

Jake Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:04 PM EST

Glad to see that Jeff Probst got a nomination, but after China and Fans vs. Favorites the series should have been nominated. There were two great seasons back to back. BSG and Family Guy both should have also gotten a nomination.

Katie Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 02:00 PM EST

Friday Night Lights was snubbed again. And the cast of Lost.

Kai- Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 01:58
