Little David can go it alone and should go it alone. It's time he grew up and left home. He's 17 years old and will have major decisions to make; should he go back to high school and graduate? Should he get tutored and get his degree, then go on to College? Or should he give it all up and go fully and completely into the Music Industry? That's a lot of decisions to make. And he cannot afford to make the wrong one.

He will need to take voice lessons, will need a voice coach and will need a manager, a manager with David's interests in his heart. And this person cannot and must not be Daddy. This boy/young man needs to get a life - his OWN LIFE.

Also in the next few years his voice will change as he matures; his wisdom teeth will come in and change the way his mouth is shaped; sure he can have them removed, but they'll make his voice better. How? they'll make the cavern of his mouth deeper + wider; that improves resonance and timbre, which he really needs. He'll be great.

Both davids were amazing given all the pressure and time consuming commerials for ford and press interviews. David A. has an amazing voice with perfect pitch. He is a balld singer and there is nothing wrong with that. Ex. Josh Groban. remember David A was only 16 yrs old when the show held auditions. For his young age he has an amazing voice and is an outstanding talent. However doing some work in the music biz, you must understand that image is more important sometimes than talent. David A. sang "Imagine" which was made as a hit song in 1971 by John Lennon. That's a classic old song that I've loved back then and I appreciate the Archuleta boy singing it on American Idol. David A. is a very good singer but he is just too young, too immature, and too manufactured because of his meddling father. I voted for David C. because I think he's a more mature sexier singer. I've been watching my DVD recording of this week's two FINALE episodes (the Tuesday and Wednesday shows). I edited out the commerials but I put the Guitar Hero commercial with ARCHIE at the beginning of the DVD and the Guitar Hero commercial with COOKIE at the end of the DVD. I put some of the commercials that had music inbetween the two episodes. Anyways, I've watched my DVD of the finale at least a dozen times already with the DVD looping over and over. COOKIE was definitely more mature. I could see that ARCHIE was more of a FOLLOWER when he was together with COOKIE. I really enjoy watching the show, but I could see how people who only see the show once would be manipulated by the emotion of the show. IT'S A GREAT SHOW. BUT IT'S ONLY A SHOW. David Archuleta lost. David Cook won. As far as I'm concerned, the correct DAVID won because COOKIE is more mature and better able to handle what's coming. ARCHIE, god help him, he has maturing to do and I see him stumbling cuz of his idiot DAD.

Congrats to both Davids. Both have the talent to go wherever their dreams and their ability to stay focused will take them. David A is still young and has much to learn. In my opinion, too many of his songs sounded the same, with the soft voice and the all too predictable same frills that were added to show his vocal flexibility. David C showed more variety in what he attempted to do over the last 10 weeks or so and did it better than anyone. He had a much more powerful voice but used it wisely and only when required. He showed the better stage presence as well, and overall, was the top competitor in what I believe to be the most talented final 12 ever. I believe that most of them could do very well in the recording business should they choose to follow that dream. Congrats to ABC for a great series and to the judges, who were the most entertaining of everyone involved. Let's not forget host Ryan, who did a great job leading the event and the incredible orchestra and singers.

I'm curious to know what went in the voters mind when they voted for David Cook. The polling difference between the Davids is a stunning 12 million votes. Could it be that all Syesha fans gave their votes to Cook? Or could it be that a 'knock-out performance' is not all that it takes to win the people when it comes to singing competitions?

I'm sure David Archuleta will have a bright future in being a recording artist. It's Cook that I'm a bit worried. I'm rooting for Cook, by the way, but considering that he actually got in the 'Idol' by chance instead of by design, will he know what to do next after he won the title?

I hope that at least BMG can help him out on this.

It's funny for me to read this because I always suspected that David A has a 'stage parent' in the background. He has that oppressed kid look in his eye as if he's trying to please someone. Obviously, he loves singing but I wonder if he can really handle stardom on his own. David C on the other hand is a rather tough cookie (no pun intended). I've watched the season since the beginning and he's not such a 'sweet guy' (check out some of his reactions and his egotistical comments). I'm not judging, just observing. The thing is that he's good...he's a performer and his huge ego will allow him to deal with all the stardom. They are both good but I think that David Cook is more rock star material. David A. can be 'Boy Band' cute but not my idea of a real star. Maybe I'm wrong but it's my opinion.

If it is to remain a talent competition rather than a popularity competition, I would rather have Cookie as the winner.

Why? Because he earned his success all by himself. I'm not bashing Archie, I don't hate him and you Cookie fans like me shouldn't be such spoil sports as with you Archie fans who bash Cook.

Both are good in their own fields, but Cook can sing songs other than rock songs. Honestly, I was never the type to go for rock songs. I would much rather have chosen ballads. But Cookie can make the oldest songs contemporary.

Even if you Archie fans say the show is FIXED (though I too have the same presumption), a true American Idol should be able to make hits. Face it, without the Idol title, Archie will have to have more work and polishing to be done. IMO.

But I say good luck to both of them. I want Archie to achieve his dream but at the same time I want Cookie to help his brother AND achieve his own dream.

Honestly, why can't you people stop bashing the other? If you like Archie, fine but that doesn't mean you can go bash Cookie. Same goes for his fans. Sure, Cook is older and you people think he's a 'screamer' and that Archuleta is a 'singer'. Well I've got news for you, even if Archuleta is great in Ballads, do you think he can pull off a rock song? An A. Idol should be able to sing all kinds of songs and not just one field.

While you Archuleta fans think Cook is screaming, it's probably only because you want him to win. Yeah sure, Cook can produce hit songs while little Archie can't and don't you dare use the excuse that he's seventeen. And you presume that the AI producers want him to win. But c'mon, non-Idol watchers are buying his songs because they are contemporary. And I saw in a blog that 8 of his songs are topping Archuleta's, even his earlier songs.

Now even if Cook might not win coz of the teenage girls voting for Archie, he should win this coz it's a talent competition

Sorry ANTMfreak-but, Naomi Judd's mouth is what started all this animosity with the Archuleta's..If she was a decent human being, she would have kept her mouth shut and not gossip. What happens at Star Search, stays there..She must know what "father from hell" is because I remember one of her daughters referring to her as "the mother from hell"..She certainly wasn't Mother of the Year. If she doesn't like the father, that's okey, but she or anyone else, should not be bashing David for what his dad did (if he did it)..people lie..how do we know that's the truth. I wouldn't believe anything Naomi said. I find it really sad to see what's going on here..Grown people bashing a 17 year old trying to make a life for himself, but he will go forward and succeed. David A would be my choice mainly because of the quality of his voice...pure and no screaching. David C would not be my choice because of his always shouting rather than letting the notes sound like music - musical quality. David C should shave once in a while; that would certainly enhance his looks...clean cut. David A it is for me even though he is young to begin a career in the music field...so much to learn re being interviewed, carrying on conversation. That comes with age and experience. Voice is top notch.

Don't you know that the show is FIXED. Each week, the song choices are limited to a list that is selected by the shows producers. The singers that the producers like are given first choice on the songs and then the others have to fight over the leftovers. That's why David Archuleta's Father made his son sing the extra unauthorized words to a song that was not on the list. American Idol is a FRAUD. You watch, if David Archuleta has to sing FIRST in the finale, then you know it's FIXED and David Archuleta LOSES.

I live half way around the world in Asia and I follow American Idol closely every season. After reading the comments on this site and some others, I feel that I have to say something.
David Archuleta is a singer and since this is a singing competition, he should win it. Cook on the other hand is a screamer, and since this competition isn't about screaming, then cook deserves to loose. Furthermore to all those you say that archuleta is boring, well think again. Cook is just as boring. All his performances starts of slow and soft, then he picks it up a little and always ends up screaming at the end. That's boring. Before I go, just incase you all think I am some love struck teenage girl, sorry but I am a 45 yr old guy.

My husband, David Archuleta, is not really 17 years old. He is really 30 years old and he is therefore disqualified to be on American Idol. Don't believe what you see. David has always looked young and is always carded when he goes to bars. But he has also had a great deal of plastic surgery to keep him looking young and underage. You would not believe how many times he has cheated on me because of his looks in order to get underage girls. And the way he sings, he used to sing better but because of old age he's losing his voice and that's why he sounds the way he does in the sexy monotone way he sings. David shouldn't be on the show, but he had to be on the show ever since he saw Kelly Clarkson on the show. Don't be fooled by that Star Search thing also because that was really his baby cousin on the show. And David now took over because he's starstruck and wants his face on teen magazines. David Archuleta has never sold any music and the only thing he is good for is having teenyboppers sending in multiple votes over and over again via the 800 number and in text voting.
