What should the Idols sing for Neil Diamond Week?

Apr 28, 2008, 05:37 PM | by Michael Slezak

Categories: 'American Idol', Idolatry

Dawnie Walton and I could probably use a little help in the song suggestion department, so check out our latest installment of Idolatry, then weigh in with choices for the five remaining Idol contestants in the comments section below.

Re:Re:Re; Olive Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 07:45 PM EST

Olive is the only Olive I know smart enough to go to TMZ! I love Olive!

drella66 Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 07:40 PM EST

I dont think its far archie got the two most recognizable songs which always helps get votes

Dwight S Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 07:31 PM EST

Archie should have sung Shiloh, and D Cook should have done Girl You'll be a woman soon.

The rest really doesn't matter, and Paula just jumped the shark.

Jane Q. Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:58 PM EST

No matter what David Archuleta sings tonight i pray it's a super uptempo song. All we've gotten from him so far this season is slow mellow chill ballads & one slow-medium tempo song. It makes him so one dimensional. He has shown us very lil diversity to no diversity at all. Bottom 2 will either be the 2 girls or 1 of them and Jason. I think the final 3 should be the 3 guys. Syesha should go home this week and Brooke next week. Just my view pt.

wtf Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:45 PM EST

I think JC could do really well with both. Brooke needs something happy, so she could be set, too. DA went the KLC patriotic w/cheese on top route, which disappoints me, but his fan base will love it. Syesha will be fine. But DC - I heart you and all, but WHAT THE HECK? Please pull another Little Sparrow out of your magic bag of tricks - please?

Stretch Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:42 PM EST

Just to let you all know, the voters will quickly be out and voting for Brooke no matter what. So, even if she does bad, voters will STILL be voting for her. Just to let you all know. So be out in full force after tonights Idol and vote like crazy for your favorite, because the one that you like may go home tonight.

2cents Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:26 PM EST

Can we have the "Oh no they didn't" awards handed out before the show?

Brooke singing I'm a Believer? And let's not forget Jason's two songs (can't decide which one is going to be more disastrous, so I'm putting both on the ballot).

Re:Re:Olive Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:23 PM EST

Olive is not that physic. She just knows where to look....at TMZ.com.

If she was that physic, should be living off of her lottery winnings in some mountain resort, with Popeye.

RE Olive Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:01 PM EST

Olive rocks! You watch, she predicts with 100% accuracy!

olive Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 04:59 PM EST

2 songs performed tonight...

Jason - "Forever in Blue Jeans" and "September Morn"

David A. - "Sweet Caroline" and "America"

Brooke - "I Am...I Said" at the piano and "I'm a Believer"

Syesha - "Hello Again" and "Thank the Lord for the Night Time"

David C. - "I'm Alive" and "All I Ever Really Need is You"

jennjenn Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 03:34 PM EST

I dont know what's wrong with some of you! If you dont like someone on AI then at least have enough respect for yourself to stop putting them down and just talk about the person you do like... just cuz you dont like Archie doesnt mean you have to bash him... just talk about the person that you DO like and shut up about the rest... I'm looking forward to tonight.. I am an Archie fan and I know he will sing great, but I also have a lot of respect for David C. and look forward to what he's singing as well. I think they are the 2 top competitors and both deserve to be in the finale!

Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 03:04 PM EST

One of the Joan's is an imposter.

Scott Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 02:14 PM EST

Do they start singing 2 songs tonight? If only one song each, here are my picks:
David A: Heartlight (a “puppies & kittens” version)
David Cook: Sweet Caroline (as yet another billy idol type remake of a Neil Diamond song)
Jason: Soolaimon (baked version - duh)
Syesha: brother love’s traveling Salvation show (a Syesha Broadway Version after all the accolades last week)
Brooke: You don’t bring me flowers (will sing both the Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand parts, thereby attempting a duet for one)

Kathy Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 01:40 PM EST

David Cook should sing "You Got to Me". It's upbeat, like "Happy Together" from earlier in the season. "Solitary Man" would also be good. I hope Jason sings "Red Red Wine".

Dana Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 01:14 PM EST

David A. is not cute. There is nothing cute about him. I get the Jason appeal, but not David A. He's funny looking and boring. So, if he were a regular guy in high school he'd be short and goofy. And you girls wouldn't swoon as much. Let's vote on talent. He might be able to sing, but so can my church choir. We need someone who can actually write a song and he just can't do that. If the weirdest thing about him is that he doesn't like to be tickled then he's just a goofball.

Judy Casteel Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 01:06 PM EST

Who doesn't think of furry cartoon characters when they think of David A? But that's the way I like my Sat. morning TV, NOT MY MUSIC!

Michelle Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 12:59 PM EST

Brooke- All Through The Night
Syesha- Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
David A- Goonies theme
Jason- She Bop
David C- True Colors

*** Oh, I thought it was a different mentor.

bethany Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 12:53 PM EST

DAVID A: I Think It's Gonna Rain Today

Is that the one covered by Bette Midler on beaches? What a great idea, that is a beautiful song! Ooh, I hope he does. As for Jason, I really wanted him to snag red red wine, but it sounds like Syesha got it, darn it! I'm just not sure about this whole Neil Diamond thing.I feel we need to go much more current, next week. Or at least pic another era, not just one particular singer.

Maine Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 12:33 PM EST

David A.- Hello Again
Jason- Daydream Believer
Syesha- Cherry Cherry
David C.- He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother
Brooke- Sweet Caroline

Stephanie T. Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:41 AM EST

David A.: He Ain't Heavy
David C.: Cracklin' Rosie
Jason C.: Solitary Man
Brooke W: Song Sung Blue
Syesha M.: Hello Again

Diane Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:31 AM EST

Jason - Forever in Blue Jeans
David A - He Ain't Heavy
David Cook - I Am I Said
Brooke - Cherry Cherry
Syesha - You Got To Me

Billy Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:29 AM EST

O.K. My choices:
David A. "Love on the Rocks"
David C. "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show"
Jason "Song Sung Blue"
Syeesha "I Am I Said"
Brooke " Longfellow Seranade"

Khaelis Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:10 AM EST

Jason - Cracklin' Rosie hahaha

Kameron Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:09 AM EST

I think David Cook should sing I am I said. That is the best song for his voice. Girl you;'ll be a woman is too low register and he'd be called a copycat. He knows he needs to stay away from versions of versions of songs. He's going to do something new. And I will fall in love all over again.

Khaelis Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:07 AM EST

Love on the Rocks ... another fav :) but who? ROFL!

To Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:04 AM EST

Maybe you are the imposter and the other Joan is the real deal. Maybe there is cyborg Joan and she's coming to save us all with the real song answers. Or maybe I'll just wait until 8pm to see who is singing what.

Khaelis Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:04 AM EST

If they can really do it up in the right way, David Cook doing "America" (not sure of song title "Be Coming to America"?)could really bring down the house. But it needs to have the instrumentation for a great impact.

To Real and Imposter Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 11:03 AM EST

Who cares, this shows that anyone can come on here and post spoilers and be wrong or right. If you are right you get lucky if you are wrong you are wrong. Who cares.

Seejay Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:51 AM EST

I don't care what Brooke or Jason sing , they need to go , either one would make me happy since my faves other than DC are gone. As for those who don't feel Neil Diamond is relevant today , just look at his song book , he is a genius. And so many artists have done his songs. Just change them up to create a new version is what the AI producers want them to do. Make them new and fresh and it is done all the time now .

Rocky B Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:50 AM EST

What does that mean: giving someone "spoilers?" Please help!

Julia Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:44 AM EST

Would someone just tell me why we are having a Neil Diamond week at all? Good Lord, my ears are already bleeding in anticipation.

calla Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:44 AM EST

To Carly - thank you. Yeah, I can totally see him picking that one! ;)

DAW Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:41 AM EST

THANK YOU, Joan, the one and only.

TO CALLA Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:40 AM EST

schmaltzy ET song= heartlight.

To Olive Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:39 AM EST

Olive was the last post last week before the show and she predicted with 100% accuracy! I'm waiting for Olive!

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:39 AM EST

The only spoilers I have at this time are for Jason Castro. Anyone else posting under this name is an imposter...and a child...and a jerk.

calla Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:35 AM EST

Oh great, now we have Joan posers? Ugh.

Amy Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:34 AM EST

I don't think that is the real Joan.

Ansie Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:32 AM EST

David Cook, Girl You'll be a woman soon but the Verge Overkill, Pulp Fiction version:>

calla Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:32 AM EST

Oh my, Joan - please give David Archuleta spoilers!!! (pretty please with sugar on top?)

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:32 AM EST

David Archuleta will make you get your visa and convince you

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:32 AM EST

David Archuleta will make you get your visa and convince you

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:32 AM EST

Brooke sings of the blues and a girl she once knew

calla Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:31 AM EST

Carly, What's the schmaltzy ET song?

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:31 AM EST

Sayesha will enjoy some red wine and play me

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:30 AM EST

Another hint for you spoiler lovers:

David Cook will tell you so, he said and he will be a lonely man

carly Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:15 AM EST

Forever in Blue Jeans is an excellent choice for Castro. Big comeback?

I really want Cook to perform an unplugged Play Me (those lyrics!) and a Les Paul rocking Kentucky Woman.

I've got ten bucks that says Archuleta went for either I'm a Believer, that schmaltzy ET song, or both.

lpa Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:15 AM EST

Joan always posts hints the Tuesdays of each AI performance. She has ALWAYS been correct. She usually has Jason spoilers, and IIRC, sometimes spoilers from other singers as well.

To: Who's Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:13 AM EST

Uhhhh...she's basically been right every week, so....

Who's Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:10 AM EST

And why is she right? Do we know for sure she's credible? David Cook's songs please.

TO JOAN Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 10:03 AM EST

yay!! thank you!! how about brooke? any clues?

lpa Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:59 AM EST

Joan, thanks for the hints! So Jason is singing Forever in Blue Jeans and September Morn! Cool.

Any other hints? Pleaaaase?

trevor Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:52 AM EST

shut up guys! some of neil diamonds song didnt recognize by the new generation even though andrew lloyd weber is kinda old but hes song still remains on the mind of the many people younger or older, whoever really dont know the superstar mariah, dolly is a legend...so he didnt deserves to be there and a mentor... hey AI you dont have anymore budget 4 a biggest star singer???? y not guesting whitney, madonna, cindy lauper, britney and cristina to be the mentor they have a lot of hits song!... but i will go 4 david cook... he's the winner!...

Martin Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:51 AM EST

David Cook - Beautiful noise (suitably rocked up of course)
Brooke White - I am, I said with tinkling piano and soaring notes
Syesha Mercado - Red, red wine
David Archuleta - He ain't heavy, he's my brother
Jason Castro - Song sung blue since it has a gentle melody and could be sung unaccompanied

Highland Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:50 AM EST

By the way, I don't envy you guys...ND means well, but he's kinda just a more talented Bobby Darin (the "Simple Song of Freedom" years, of course). Know what I mean? I think Mr. Diamond means well, but I'm still totally embarrassed. They all just make you blush, don't they?

Highland Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:41 AM EST

Wait, TWO EACH? All right, here are the second songs:
SYESHA: Holly Holy
DAVID A: I Think It's Gonna Rain Today
JASON: Juliet OR And The Singer Sings His Song
BROOKE: And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind
DAVID C: Coldwater Morning

Joan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:35 AM EST

A teeny hint for you spoiler lovers:

Jason always dons durable twill weave when taking a stroll at dawn, when the foliage is dismounting.

Highland Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:31 AM EST

SYESHA: The Boat That I Row
DAVID A: He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother
JASON: I Am...I Said
BROOKE: Play Me OR You Don't Bring Me Flowers
DAVID C: Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show

AB Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 09:04 AM EST

Ever since I heard there would be a Neil Diamond night I've been hoping that David C will do a rocked out version of 'I Am...I Said'. I think he could really tear into it. However I could see Archie deciding to do it and completely sucking the life out of it.

mscisluv Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 08:42 AM EST

Neil Diamond? Sheesh. No wonder the ratings are dropping. As someone else asked, don't the producers know it's 2008? We had Mariah Carey last week, and in the past we've had J Lo and Gwen Stefani, which is at least heading in the right direction. I'm not sure who else to suggest, but you can't ask teh contestants to be relevant and then have them sing Neil Diamond.

gary Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 08:37 AM EST

thecheappop.com had a funny piece on this and called david a. a guy who likes soup

Cookie Fan Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 08:16 AM EST

Jason - Kentucky Woman or Cracklin' Rosie
Brooke - Song Sung Blue or Delirious Love (would be a nice change from the ballads!)
Archie - Hello Again or I'm A Believer
Syesha - Love On The Rocks or Holly Holy
David Cook - Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon or Solitary Man

wendy Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 08:10 AM EST

what ever Brook desides to sing make sure her family have q cards so she can get done with a WHOLE SONG before she has another DO AGAIN

Elizabeth Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 06:47 AM EST

GREAT POINT!! about the older songs. I think its getting to be a little late in the game to not start 'looking ahead'.

Jen Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 01:49 AM EST

I don't think I agree with any of these predictions. I think Red Red Wine is too obvious for Jason Castro. He hasn't been very obvious in prior weeks. I hate Song Sung Blue so hope no one does that. I think anything up tempo would be dreadful by David A; he should stick with ballads. I think David Cook could rock the house with America, but I don't think it will really happen. I also think Girl, You'll Be A Woman and Solitary Man are too obvious. Brooke needs to stick with something she can play the piano to, similar to her Let It Be performance. I don't have much opinion on Syesha. She could probably do Don't Send Me Flowers, but I hope not. She's good at up tempo songs. My list:

Jason: Soolaimon or Holly Holy

Syesha: Amazed and Confused

David A: Be or September Morn

Brooke: Love on the Rocks or The Story of My Life

David C: I think he could do a swooning rock ballad of I've Been This Way Before or even Play Me

Lara Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 11:50 PM EST

you guys are outdoing yourselves with the videos this season. bravo.
i like a lot of your song choices, but i disagree that no one should do "cherry cherry" - i think dcook could make that song really sexy if he busts out the guitar. and you're totally right that it's time for him to rock again; it's been too long. however, as his other song, i really want to hear "september morn". "you'll be a woman soon" is waaaaay too obvious, imo.
**everyone** needs to leave "coming to america" and "heartlight" alone.
i know the songs are old, but they're great, so i'm actually psyched for this week. here's hoping brooke keeps her stuff together, because i really don't want to watch her melt down again.

irene Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 11:35 PM EST

My choices:

David Cook- Solitary Man or I Am...I Said

Jason- Red Red Wine

David A.- America or I'm A Beleiver

Brooke- Hello Again

Syesha- September Morn or Thank the Lord for the Nighttime

Huny Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 11:08 PM EST

Joan, you didn't even give us any hints to decipher!

Joan Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 10:44 PM EST

The contestants will sing two songs tomorrow.

Tony Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 10:42 PM EST

I wish they could pick their own songs. This out dated mentor thing is getting old. Don't the producers know it's 2008?

Deneen Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 10:11 PM EST

I'm sorry, but am I the only person who doesn't want to hear anything from Neil Diamond? It's 2008 people! Nigel and Co. better wise up--their ratings are starting to slip b/c they keep pimping out their mentor spots to any "legendary" artist with a Vegas show to promote.

wtf Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 09:39 PM EST

Slezakovski - meant to mention - Archie (or anyone) doing America?! Isn't that like KLC doing God Bless the USA? Sheesh! And if they sing it for the group song, it will remind me of the Idol Gives Back Gospel Hour - please no.

And hey - all you dissin' the Slezakaminski for missin' Carly - get off his case - we all have our own grieving process - respect the Videomeister's! Especially when he's funny doing it!

Briznatch Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 09:36 PM EST

"Sorry all you teenie wennies and narrow minded she's the real deal!"

Well, dear Susan, I'm not a wennie or a narrow minded, and apparently, you either are a teenie wennie or you do not have spell checker. Despite your best efforts, however, you have completely failed to convince me that Carly is the real deal.

by the way, who is Saliesha?

ANTM Freak Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 08:53 PM EST

Don't they get to sing two songs this week? Anyway, lots of good picks, I'm not all up to speed on Neil Diamond but there's a cover of "Solitary Man" by a band called HIM (YouTube it) that'd be great for Cook. If Archuleta sings that pile of crap "Heartlight", I'll shoot the TV, but I can so see him doing it. Either him or Brooke. Castro should do "I'm a Believer". "Red Red Wine" for Syesha is a great suggestion. Finally, can you finally get off the whole Carly thing, Michael and co.? You're starting to look like the fan-tards that post on Idol Forums.

karen Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 07:46 PM EST

david cook: girl you'll be a woman soon
brooke: play me or soolaimon
syesha: brother love's travelling salvation show
jason: i am i said
archuleta: something horrible... like crunchy granola suite or porcupine pie

en Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 07:30 PM EST

I think you are too harsh with David Archuleta. I am a 30 year old professional and I truly enjoy his voice and talent. He has a great personality too. I really wish to get some positive comment or constructive criticism for him from your blog.

fred Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 07:09 PM EST

DC- Holly Holy
DA- He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother
Jason- And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind
Brooke- Play Me
Syesha- Hello Again

How Transparent Can Idolatry Be? Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 07:05 PM EST

Oh man! You two talked about all five of them, and you didn't have one frame with David Archuleta's actual face or person in it. Even with the Brooke/Bambi imagery, you had a shot of Brooke the human! Geez. That cutaway was not his fault. When will you let him out of the doghouse?

To Crystal Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:48 PM EST

Crystal,

How could have a song choice for all of the contestants but Jason and Brooke. Neil Diamond week was MADE FOR THE TWO OF THEM. I think Jason should sing either "Solitary Man" or "Play Me". "Song Sung Blue" is too obvious a choise. Love the comment on "Shiloh" and Archie singing it. He is young enough have an imaginary friend. Still think that "Heartlight" is his song. It's corny, cliche and from ET. Perfect for him.

wtf Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:43 PM EST

DC - Play Me, Solitary Man, Holly Holy

DA - I'm a Believer, Holly Holy

Jason - Stones or Red, Red Wine (UB40's reggae version)

Brooke - Like You Do, Holly Holy (hey, it works for most of them!)

Sayesha - Like You Do

collins Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:33 PM EST

hate to break it to you, slezak, but carly was gonna do "sweet caroline" if she stayed. i, for one, am extremely upset at the loss of the possibility of hearing carly sing a love song leaning ballad (it would have been her, a piano, and a cello) about another woman. or maybe that is just my crazy lesbianic brain dreamin' away yet again.

we miss you carly! and by we, i mean me and itunes, 'cause they won't be getting any more money out of me this idol season.

2cents Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:23 PM EST

It's amazing how many song of Neil's I know - even though my mother was a "diamondhead" - and listened to him over and over again - he still had a lot of popular/recognizable songs throughout the decades. Good for Idol for choosing a different (not so obvious) mentor.

queen of disrepair Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:21 PM EST

Jason - Play Me
Brooke - September Morn
David Cooke - A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You
David Archuleta - Heartlight (I know Neil didn't write it but he did sing it)
Syesha - Thank the Lord for the Nighttime

2cents Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:20 PM EST

Are they only singing one song each this week? I hope's it two - otherwise it will be a looooonnnnggggg show.

Susan Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:18 PM EST

Idolatry has been such a laugh and the most honest commontary on AI 2007.Thanks for supporting Carly. Sorry all you teenie wennies and narrow minded she's the real deal!
Saliesha-She will take Broadway by storm! At least it's by choice and not because she can't find any other work.
Brook-Has the potential to bring back the earthy sounds remmenicent of Carly Simon. But she better get a backbone if she wants to surrvive.
Jason-I don't think cares so why should I!
David C.-A chamelion of sorts.Of those left he has the greatist potential.
David A.-Great voice but he needs to grow up fast to survive his fifteen minutes of fame ! Otherwise we're going to see a Muchaley Caulken meltdown.
We already know who's going to wear the crown this year so who cares what they sing.......

David Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:17 PM EST

Am I the only one who really wants to hear "Crunchy Granola Suite"?

cimagato Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:04 PM EST

This is much harder to do than it looks. Here's my guesses for them:

I'm a Believer or A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You- Jason
Forever in Blue Jeans - Brooke
Solitary Man or I Am I Said- David C
Heartlight or Song Sung Blue- Syesha
America or Play Me- David A.

I would like to thank my mother for knowing way too much about Neil Diamond and the Beatles.

kim in kentucky Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 06:03 PM EST

def Love on the Rocks

Minutiae Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:54 PM EST

Whomever came up with the idea of using a Teletubby to represent Archie is BRILLIANT.

Solitary Man Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:52 PM EST

I would enjoy hearing any of these:

Solitary Man
Shilo
Brooklyn Roads
Love on the Rocks
Evermore
Thank The Lord For The Night Time
You Got To Me
Play Me
Delirous Love
If You Know What I Mean
Lordy
Stones
Walk on Water
The Boat That I Row

wendel Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:20 PM EST

David Cook-Solitary Man
Brook-I am I said
Jason-Thank the Lord for the Nighttime
Archie-I'm a Believer
Saleisha-Little Bit You, Little Bit Me

Lizzle Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:17 PM EST

It would be cool to hear any of these:
A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You
Solitary Man
Shilo
Kentucky Woman
Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
Holly Holy
Longfellow Serenade

Jay Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:15 PM EST

Seriously, I too was upset that Carly was kicked off before Brooke, but at least start getting over it. You're pushing Carly just like the show producers are pushing Archuleta . . . and no one likes to be pushed.

actingup Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:05 PM EST

I LOVE the Idolotry video. First with all the robots for KLC - and now Bambi and the Teletubbies. HILARIOUS! Neil Diamond is a great songwriter - but I agree - this close to the end the contestants should be able to pick more modern songs. I did love Andrew Lloyd Weber week - but I always love anything from Broadway musicals. It shows who can really sing and if they can truly "act" the lyrics of a song.

Lucy Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:00 PM EST

The "rocker" on Canadian Idol did "Forever in Blue Jeans" at his audition and it was actually pretty good -therefore I'd say a good choice.

Lucy Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 05:00 PM EST

The "rocker" on Canadian Idol did "Forever in Blue Jeans" at his audition and it was actually pretty good -therefore I'd say a good choice.

E.B. Berman Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 04:55 PM EST

I know you keep using the Bambi clips to mock Brooke, but they just make me love her more.
