Simon likes the way David Hernandez stripped it

Listen closely to what Simon muttered after D. H. Stripper's performance last night:

Kudos (Crumpets?) to Mr. Cowell for finding a cheeky way to mention it without mentioning it. We salute him with our right thumb pressed against our forehead and all the other fingers flailing towards the general vicinity of Ryan Seacrest. As usual!

It was fair to assume you were talking about me, Snarf, based on our posts yesterday (and you know it). But, hey, I'll add "self conscious" to the list, too. By the way, I again apologize for my "biting" commentary earlier. I'm totally hormonal today -- can you tell?

Nix Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 07:10 PM EST

I'm sorry, I can't look at that still with the microphone and not be transported to a faraway land.

Snarf Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 06:55 PM EST

I don't recall mentioning your name in my post Karen. Self concious much?

LM Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 06:17 PM EST

All right...Now, there is "Gay" and then there is "QUEENIE GAY"...I'm sure Danny "Chicken Neck" Norriega is taking it to new heights. At least Clay wasn't so obvious! Danny, your days are numbered before you get b**ch slapped by David Hernandez.

I think Simon rests his hand on Paula's chair to establish his own warped sense dominance. As if he needs to!

Karen Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 05:47 PM EST

Okay, that was wrong and totally knee-jerk. I apologize, Snarfie. Funny how I make a comment that does not once ask for David to be removed from the show, or deride him for his personal choices, and I am homophobic, out of control, hypocritical, a prude, and now self-righteous. You're spot on, Snarfie. Sooooo astute.

Karen Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 05:40 PM EST

Good one, Annie. Oh, and Snarf? Bite me.

Andy Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 05:25 PM EST

Not to change the subject, but has anyone else noticed that for the past two weeks, Simon has been resting his arm on the back of Paula's chair? And not just to do his thumb-on-forehead salute. I think he's trying to keep Paula from bouncing up and down like a little kid who has had too much sugar. It's like he's been designated as her caretaker, trying to tone down the crazy.

Just wondering.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who heard this last night. My husband told me I was hearing things even when I replayed in on the DVR a couple of times

Snarf Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:51 PM EST

And cue the selfrightous upset parents bemoaning the lack of "family friendly" fare in 5, 4, 3, 2....

Bruce in NC Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:39 PM EST

Even though I don't watch this show, I am glad they are letting him stay on. It is no big deal. If they did let him go, would AMPAS have to strip (yeah I did; had to) Diablo Cody of her Oscar?

Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:37 PM EST

Simon said "Say I like the way you stripped it down" to Randy.

They should keep those mikes on for the whole performance!

mscisluv Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:30 PM EST

I thought he said "Tell him you like the way he strips for guys"...

tuppy Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:26 PM EST

I heard "I liked the way he stripped it down" — in any case, brilliant!

brett Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:21 PM EST

I think he said, "Tell him you liked the way he stripped it down". I'm so glad Annie noticed this, I saw it on youtube earlier and thought I was just hearing things

KG Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:17 PM EST

i could only make out "...strip to that." followed by a short chuckle from randy.

am i the only one bothered by david's facial expressions though?

Lyn Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:10 PM EST

I couldn't hear anything than his last note. Bad video?

Snarf Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 04:03 PM EST

Snort.
