Snap Judgment: Gnarls Barkley's 'Run' video

Gnarlsbarkley_l It may not make you "Crazy," but the latest Gnarls Barkley video, from the Atlanta duo's upcoming second CD The Odd Couple (due April 8), might just cause seizures. Not because of the song — €”though it's definitely danceable — €”but because of the dizzying array of fractals on the retro Dance Party USA-style set. (Gnarls' Danger Mouse talked to EW.com's Margeaux Watson here about the making of the clip, in which Justin Timberlake, pectured below left, has a cameo as the  dance show host.) In fact, MTV UK has reportedly held off on airing the video until they can prove it doesn't trigger those who are susceptible to go into convulsions. Judge for yourself, here:

Love the song! The video is kind of great - old Soul Train with psychedelic strips and circles. Fantastic...very Gnarls Barkley.

The choreography looks like recycled TLC stuff...specifically at -1:00 min. mark. (Check out their No Scrubs performance on the 1999 VMA's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biG_cNsvIjs at the 3:50 mark).

The best part of the video is that it is a mix of all those video/dance shows from the 80s like Soul Train, Yo! MTV Raps, BET Rap City, etc. I used to dance (and dress) like that back in the day!

Song is great, too. Can't wait for the new album!

Thankfully, every time I started getting woozy, my system cut it to re-buffer. No telling what what have happened if I had watched the whole thing uninterrupted! Psychedelic indeed. lol

The video was bordering on annoying and the song seemed like a rehash from the last album. Plus, this omnipresent Justin thing has spun out of control. Look it's JT on Madonna's album! Look it's JT in a movie! Look it's JT on a Pepsi ad! He's turning into Beyonce and that ain't a good thing.
