Did CBS' 'Moonlight' finally get interesting?

Moonlight_l In case I'm not the only one watching CBS' vampire drama Moonlight, I'll warn you that I'm about to talk about the plot of last Friday's episode. Bolt now if you must...

Okay, so full disclosure: I haven't always watched Moonlight. I intended to when it premiered last fall, but by the time I got around to it, the handful of people I knew tuning in had stopped. Then I spent a few Friday nights at home, and was too lazy to turn the channel after watching David Conrad on Ghost Whisperer, so I finally saw it. It was right around the time that Mick (Alex O'Loughlin, pictured) first discovered his ex-wife, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon) — the vamp who sired him and whom he supposedly killed the night he saved Beth (Sophia Myles) — was possibly now a human and working as a freelance photographer. Yes, I wish Moonlight was as well written as Buffy and Angel, but who isn't fascinated by the idea of a vamp becoming human?

After some back-and-forthing, we found out on Friday's episode that Coraline's "cure" is a temporary one, first used by her family and others who wanted to escape the guillotine. (We also learned that vampires were the target of the Reign of Terror.) The episode ended with Mick sampling the cure, and, after getting his ass kicked by Coraline's brother and gorging himself on food, showing up at Beth's boyfriend's funeral to reveal his momentary mortality.

So, here's my question to you folks who've been tuning in: Is this the start of a great story arc — Mick is human, what will it mean for his relationship with Beth, how long will it last, etc. — or a fine place to call it quits? Moonlight won the People's Choice Award for best new drama, but we all know that means nothing — and it looks like Friday's episode was the last one canned before the strike.

Should the show return?

Duh! Moonlight should return it was a excellent show. It is nothing like Buffy or Angel.(Maybe the vamp part a little.) I really hope Cbs puts it back on the air soon. This show has really great actors and it was worth watching.

If CBS doesn't bring this show back as a mid-season replacement, they may come to regret the decision in the long run. True Blood has taken off like a forest fire over on HBO, Twilight is set to be released in theaters with millions of fans waiting to pounce and Johnny Depp is slated to star in a Dark Shadows film directed by Tim Burton. This is a definite resurgence of a genre that has more lives than Dracula has wives.

For once we got a good show with interesting characters and now it's canceled. That sucks. I love the show and watched it right from the start. I'm 54 and I stilled loved watching it. So it appealed to many age groups. I hope there is a way to get it back on. Enough Law and Orders and CSI's. Let have some good and different shows.Not more of the same old things over and over.

The first time I saw this show I was hooked.Alex O'Loughlin is so hot. The writting is great as are all the characters. They leave a boring show like Ghost Whisperer on, problably because the lead(JLHewitt) is more well known then Alex O.I'm so glad that I recorded most of the episodes on my dvr so I can watch them over and over. Please someone bring this show back!!!!!!!!

I watched every episode of Moonlight and just love the show. It's a new twist on a old story told. I haven't seen any series premiers of the show yet but hope that it will be back this fall. Friday nights just wouldn't be the same without both Ghost Whisperer and Moonlight!

Moonlight to me is written, directed and acted as if each episode in itself were a classic movie. It fulfills my wildest imagination of how true love should be, honest and protective of the one you love. The chemistry of the entire cast is electrifying and the actors bring the storyline to life, beckoning viewers into their magical and mystifying venue filmed in the noir. This drama series puts other shows to shame for those of us who are true romantics. After three months, I still cannot believe it was cancelled.

great casting of the 4 main characters, great stories - so much potential for future stories, why does CBS keep CSI - which is so predictable and cancel a new drama!!! Aren't they interested in what their viewers want - doesn't look like it!!

yes !! moonlight should come back on. it is a great show. remember dark shadows, everyone love that show also. that show swingtown stinks. my grandkids love moonlight ans my kids and myself. swingtown is not good for kids to watch. please bring back moonlight. a big fan of moonlight.

I loved watching Moolight on Fridays, It seemed to fit right after Ghostwisperer. I was glad that Mick and beth finally could possibly together. Please lets see what next season has to bring. Close up all the lose endings.

Please bring this show back for a 2nd season!! Friday night is the only night I watch anything other than Food Network, TLC, FX, or Bravo. If you can keep bringing Big Brother, Survivor, or How I Met Your Mother, there's got to be a spot for MOONLIGHT!!

I am very upset about the show canceling! It figures... if it is a good show Not a reality show... It IS A GREAT SHOW! I saw that previews of upcoming shows and kept waiting for them to come on... This the best show I have ever seen in my life! 3 weeks ago started here on german TV but got the chance to watch all the 16 episodes in english by now nd I m so captivated can not describe! More like just a tv serie this is, a feeling one jumps into it getting lost in :-) Gorgeous and Brilliant!!! Perfect cast, perfect ambience! Plz go on with!

CBS BLEW IT! Moonlight is the best show on CBS and should return for a second season. CBS wisely created an interesting show with a twist that improves on Buffy and Angel, gave us great writing and a great cast with great chemistry, but THEN failed to give the show a fair shake with good promotion and ANOTHER CHANCE BY atleast choosing another night if Friday night wasn't making the numbers necessary. CBS is shooting itself in its own foot. The public wants Interesting & entertaining shows and CBS scored with Moonlight.
Now all we have are reality shows and so naturally CBS' audience is heading for cable.

Every Friday I could escape into the world of MickBeth and it would make my week just a little better to be able to believe that two people could actually love each other that much. CBS has a wonderful line up on Friday nights between Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight & Numbers. I stay home on Friday nights just to watch these shows. I really hope you don't take Moonlight off your lineup. I feel it would be a big mistake. The Actors are very believable and take you to a different place that you feel you are right with them there, and they're very easy on the eyes!!!!!!!!!!

CBS has to be just out of their minds if they take off Moonlight!!!! Mick is way better than Angel. It is a modern day vamp show and it's just incredible!! The actors and actress are excellent and I stay home on Friday night just to watch Alex in action!!! while i really enjoy watching law and order and it"s spinoffs, all of the csi', i cannot stress enough how much i love watching moonlight. it's one of the best shows on. it is like a breath of fresh air, it leaves you waiting for the next weeks show. i love this show.

You are losing viewers with all the reality shows and things that just have no fantasy factor. Vampires in current times working with us. Makes you wonder...could this really happen? It is a great show and will only get better if you can get great stories for them.

CBS is forefront on some many timeslot. Once Ghost Whisperer is over, people are ready for another drama, suspense. Not some hokey pokey game show. Thanks! Keep Mick!

The show is awesome and Mick is your average guy making the most of a bad situation. He is so endearing because of his love of human life and hatred for what he has turned into.

Plus he is easy on the eyes - same as Beth. I think this should be the Ross/Rachel, Luke/Laura saga but much much better as they have had a bond since she was a child - he the protector - her the innocent. It must go on.

Such a great show and looks at the seedier side of life where even the bad guy (vampires) have standards they try to follow.

You have to pick up Moonlight for next season. Alex is strong and forceful as the vampire but on the human side he is sweet,sexy, vulnerable and oh soo hot, which makes him a "Perfect" man. He is also a great actor and deserves to be rewarded with the continuation of this great show. I beg you to keep this show going!!!!!

While the first episodes tried to find their direction, the series quickly became more interesting and involved more of the characters. Rather than surface vampires, it was nice to learn of their pre-vampire lives and early vampire days. It did certainly increase their depth and made them more "real". All in all, great fun to watch and, let's face it ladies, incredible eye-candy! If you want "drama", turn on PBS. For one hour of escapist "vampire solidarity, rah, rah" watch "Moonlight".

Originally the new episodes of Moonlight were scheduled to start on April 11th, but now the CBS website shows the new shows aren't starting until April 25th.

MOONLIGHT is the best show I've seen on network TV in MANY years! It just gets better and better. I pray CBS has the good sense to renew it for another season! Alex O'Loughlin and Jason Dohring - YUM!!!!

Yes this show should return! I don't think any other show in recent or even non recent history has attracted so many dedicated viewers across a wide span of age groups. The star of the show is extremely good looking and a great actor. The leads share a very hot chemistry on-screen. The story lines involving unrequited love, redemption, and other themes are wonderful. I don't think any show has as many videos on Youtube. I love the show and haven't felt this strongly about anything on TV in years. CBS give us what we want!

Most new shows start out slow, the actors have to get a feel for the part there playing.
Everyone should give the show a chance! I for one can't wait for the next 4 episodes and Hoping CBS wakes to the fact that Moonlight is a hit with the people.

Hell yea it should return!!! Best show on CBS yet! I don't understand why they are hesitating at all bringing this show back, it's a winner!! Great cast, talented, good looking, great story line. What's the hold up CBS??!?

I am now completely addicted to Moonlight. It beats Buffy, Angel & Blood Ties hands down for me. Not 100% sure exactly why but for some reason I am hankering for more. I definitely want to know more about each individual character’s past. I think a second season is a must as there is a lot of scope for character development; especially with the character’s of Coraline & Josef. They clearly have a lot to share with us! I see not many people mentioned the “Sleeping Beauty” episode. This is one of my favourites out of the whole first season. It was completely unexpected & it was interesting to see Josef’s softer side! More of Moonlight? In two words: Yes please...

IF YOU ARE NOT WATCHING “MOONLIGHT” …THEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE MISSING! THIS IS THE SHOW THAT KEEPS YOU WANTING MORE AND MORE WITH EACH EPISODE. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS LITTLE SHOW THAT COULD. LOVED IT FROM ITS INCEPTION.. “THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS VAMPIRES” TO THE LAST ONE “THE MORTAL CURE”. I'M TRULY MISSING MY BLOOD SUCKER, MICK ST. JOHN A LOT ON FRIDAY’S NIGHT!.... SO CBS, THE SO CALLED POWERS-THAT-BE, WE ARE ASKING THAT YOU RENEW OUR SHOW MOONLIGHT….SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!!…THANKS.
