How come no one is watching 'Journeyman'?

Categories: PopWatch Petition, Television

Journey_l Monday nights are meant for two things: Journeyman and crying.

Yes, Journeyman.

You know, the awesome show the whole world is ignoring, even though it's on right after Heroes. It doesn't make sense to me that people aren't tuning in each week to see how time-traveling reporter Dan Vassar (Kevin McKidd, pictured) is going to deal with his long-suffering wife (Gretchen Egolf), his job (which always seems to be on the line), his son (who likes his "magic trick"), his ex-fiancée (who we recently found out is also a decade-jumper and really lives/d in 1948), his prying brother (who's a cop), and what happens when you pull things back with you from the past (like money, wine, and guns). Did I mention that I cry at the end of practically every episode? What about the fact that the soundtrack adheres perfectly (and beautifully) to the years Dan "visits"? And that the show is absolutely nothing like Quantum Leap?!

Are you intrigued yet? You should be, despite the fact that NBC isn't showing Journeyman any love. The network just announced episode orders for Chuck and Life, but left our time-traveler out in the cold. And here I thought Life was just a board game. I'll be busted up if Journeyman gets canceled, but I'm used to early deaths for my cult favorites. I can only hope that if NBC scraps the show, they give it a fair ending, like the final episode of Surface. Mmmm...water and sea-creatures.

Tell me PopWatchers, should we start the petition on behalf of Journeyman right now? Or are there other shows whose fates concern you more?

If it's not too late, I and my spouse would love to see Journeyman continue his time travels. There really is not much else fresh and unique to watch. I am sooooooo tired of Law and Orders and CSI's. Let's have some happily ending stories please!!!!

Terri L Thu, Feb 21, 2008 at 05:07 PM EST

Leave Journeyman on the air!!! I love to watch this show and my 13 year old son actually watches this one with me! Finally a wholesome show that doesn't need extreme violence or sex to lead to enjoyment. I would miss this show horribly if it was removed from the line up after Heros.

Georgia Wed, Feb 20, 2008 at 07:37 PM EST

I love this show too. It fits right in behind Heroes. NBC just needs to give a little more time. It's a winner!!!

Charlene Sun, Feb 17, 2008 at 06:07 PM EST

If you are a Journeyman fan. Speak up!

I love this show. This show offers everything for me. Smart sci-fi premise with believable characters. They make it work. I'm hoping another network can strike a deal with NBC to get this show rolling again.

Right now NBC is hyping "American Gladiators" (blech!), and yet here it is, Monday, and I have no Journeyman to look forward to. Are they kidding with that? I'm still holding out hope that Journeyman will resurface, but, I fully expect the brain trust at NBC to axe it, even though it is a truly great show. Guess I'll have to buy the partial season on iTunes and just watch those over and over, when there is nothing else but "reality" TV on. I love Journeyman, I miss it, and I want it back!

Tana Sun, Jan 6, 2008 at 09:58 PM EST

This is the most awesome show on TV right now. NBC should definitely renew it if they want to keep me as a viewer of their networks!

Dan I. Fri, Jan 4, 2008 at 03:22 AM EST

Definitely the best new show on tv.

What is sad, NBC didn't promote the last few episodes and they were the most compelling of the series! Of course NBC said that if the ratings didn't show growth, they wouldn't pick up the Journeyman's option.

That's like expecting a redwood sappling to grow with no sun/water.

How sad.

Here's hoping FOX picks up this show!

Save Journeyman Thu, Jan 3, 2008 at 10:58 PM EST

This is a fantastic series. If you have missed it, you can view the last few episodes at www.nbc.com Please support the efforts to save the show at the Journeyman Board at NBC.

Chris Walter Tue, Jan 1, 2008 at 04:46 AM EST

It's such a great show, of course NBC will cancel it! Why not keep stupid game shows, reality shows and stuff like Bionic Woman around instead? ~sigh~ Just when I was starting to have some hope for TV again, too.

Scott Sat, Dec 29, 2007 at 07:02 PM EST

Journeyman is such a smart, witty, well put together show - of course it's being cancelled. Nevermind that it's a show of substance, that it's fans watch week after week or that it is exactly the type of show that would build ratings over the course of time through word of mouth and recognition. The acting is crisp and the writing (around a rather difficult subject - time travel) is on target each week.

Here is to executives who don't watch their own shows and just pay attention to some numbers on a spreadsheet. To execs who renew Chuck, which I also watch, but is like popcorn rather than renewing the full course meal of Journeyman. I will enjoy joining any petitions that are created to save one of the smartest shows on TV.

Anna Kovatch Thu, Dec 27, 2007 at 08:57 PM EST

I love this show!!! There are have been very few shows on television that are this creative and get you thinking "what if". Most shows on TV now have little in the way of self respect and love for other people.
Just think back to the original Star Trek... They cancelled that show with out warning and look at all the spin off's it created.
Lets hope for more JOURNEY MAN!!!

Bruno Welson Thu, Dec 27, 2007 at 02:30 AM EST

JOURNEYMAN. Love the show. Pathetic Decision to have it cut off. I most definitely am going to give a thumb down to NBC for their latest charade. NBC execs wake up guys! You could have at least given the show a chance to prove itself. One more season is all I ask. Then the show will get the others on its own. That's little but sure!

kevin warner Thu, Dec 27, 2007 at 12:40 AM EST

I get depressed every time I think about Journeyman being cancelled. NBC is so messed up in their thinking. This show is getting better and better. Anyone heard anything positive in the show being picked up by another network or NBC keeping it? I love Journeyman!!!!!

Adam Tiegs Wed, Dec 26, 2007 at 05:02 PM EST

It truly would be devastating if NBC pulls the plug on Journeyman without a good ending. It's one of the best new shows (in my humble opinion) and for some reason, people aren't watching it (time slot?, usually after another good show? [Heros], I don't know!). Please end it right or continue making one of the better shows on TV!

Lou Wed, Dec 26, 2007 at 12:06 PM EST

I've come to a point in my life where I practically hate ALL TV shows, but NBC HAD me hanging by a THREAD. That thread was Heroes and Journeyman. I work late on Mondays so I had to view these shows ONLINE. At first, Heroes was the show I'd watched first, but as time went on, I had to watch Journeyman first. NBC has a GREAT show on their hands and they are CLUELESS!!! It's no wonder they are trailing in viewership. Congratulations, NBC...that's TWICE you've dumped on my head...First, "The Others" (also was on Monday night) and now Journeyman.

Laura Tue, Dec 25, 2007 at 09:06 AM EST

This is the best TV show I have watched in YEARS. My husband and I look forward to every episode. The time slot kinda stinks, but I still stay up to watch every second of it! I am SO tired of NBC's reality shows. It's about time we got a show that CHALLENGED our intelligence! PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!

Sarah K Mon, Dec 24, 2007 at 08:33 PM EST

Bad move, NBC! Don't leave this series incomplete. Let it finish! Renew it already. It's a good quality show that never fails to engage and entertain. Give it a chance to gain a following rather than throwing it away prematurely.

Kristen Mon, Dec 24, 2007 at 02:12 PM EST

I absolutely love this show! I've watched it from the beginning and have loved every episode. I don't know why I'm surprised that NBC has chosen to get rid of it. It happens to all my favorite shows and I should have anticipated it. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who wants to fight to save it. We need to get more people on the bandwagon! Save Journeyman!!!

tara Sat, Dec 22, 2007 at 09:53 PM EST

I just love this show. When I started really getting into it, I grew afraid. . .will it continue? Sure enough, it looks like it will be cancelled. I hope they change their minds because I like it more and more rather than less and less like most stupid shows.

Kate Thu, Dec 20, 2007 at 03:22 PM EST

I think that NBC is crazy for cancelling this show. We've seen every veriation of Law and Order. What's next? Law and Order and the Island of Misfit Toys? Come on NBC. Don't you think that it is time for some real television? The characters are well written, well acted and the story lines are intellegent. It is time that we have something worth watching rather than picking which briefcase has the money, which Jerry Springer guest is the Batchelor going to pick or the endless hours of reality tv. Please! This show deserves to be brought back for a second season. The possibilities are endless. We deserve the chance to see what will happen to Dan and the rest of the cast. You can't just leave us hanging in limbo between the past and the present. We want more Journeyman!

R.L.HILL Thu, Dec 20, 2007 at 02:48 PM EST

I've been watching Journeyman,I love it,and it has been a part of my Monday nights since the premiere.Journeyman just keeps getting better and better. Please save Journeyman!!!

Rae Thu, Dec 20, 2007 at 02:46 AM EST

There is a reason NBC translates to Nothing But Crap. Dumping Journeyman makes NBC worthless. What are they going to do, another reality series? How about some more pointless humor crap like Chuck? Let's dumb the audience down some more. Forget thinking while you're watching television. Shows that make you think are bad! I'm boycotting NBC. If you're as mad about this as I am, boycott it too!

elizabeth Tue, Dec 18, 2007 at 01:42 AM EST

Typical. The Big Three just can't seem to handle a "concept" show that is well written, with fascinating characters and honest-to-goodness CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! (I get my heart broken every year, and you'd think I'd stop watching these shows, knowing full well that the suits are too darn stupid to appreciate these types of programs.) Nor do they understand that these shows need time to build audiences. The shows either have to be vapid (most reality shows and at least one game show fall into this category), fantastical, or hinge on disaster and conflict, instead of allowing conflict and drama to unfold organically. Meanwhile those of us with brains are leaving the big three for cable where so many of the award-winning shows are now. A person can only tolerate so much soap opera before their mind turns to mush. Oh, wait, that must be the problem with these programming people, they've already suffered brain damage from watching too much idiocy.

elizabeth Tue, Dec 18, 2007 at 01:22 AM EST

Other posters already said it well, among the best new TV series in years, with real character development and the kind of ups and downs that a family going through a stressful change would endure. Making time-travel seem realistic, who'da thunk it? NBC will be making yet another mistake that has put it in the basement if it does not give this show time to grow an audience.

Jennifer Thu, Dec 13, 2007 at 05:31 PM EST

I READ THIS ON ANOTHER SITE AND I THINK THEY ARE RIGHT NOW IS OUR TIME TO FIGHT FOR JOURNEYMAN AND SHOW NBC THAT WE WANT IT TO STAY. WE NEED TO VOICE OUR DISAPPROVAL TO NBC AND FIGHT FOR WHAT WE LOVE!!

"Reports are pouring in from all over the web that Journeyman has been “cancelled.” But none of the news is any different that what has been reported here. There has been no announcement that the show is canceled. There is only news that NBC let a deadline pass for picking up the rest of season one. We should seize this opportunity to let everyone know that we haven’t given up on Journeyman. If you see a news source, whether it is a blog, newspaper or whatever, reporting that Journeyman has been “canceled,” let them know via a comment or e-mail that there is still life, and that SaveJourneyman.net is dedicated to keeping the show alive."

Jennifer Thu, Dec 13, 2007 at 02:59 PM EST

I PERSONALLY DONT SEE WHY NBC IS SO SET ON GETTING RID OF THIS SHOW. I DONT KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL VISITING THIS SITE BUT NBC DIDNT MAKE A DECISION ON TO KEEP JOURNEYMAN OR NOT AND THEIR DEADLINE SEEMS TO BE UP SO IT SEEMS THAT JOURNEYMAN IS BEING CUT. WELL WE CANT LET THIS HAPPEN JOURNEYMAN IS TOO GOOD OF A SHOW TO BE LET GO. WE ALL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO SAVE IT. THERE ARE MANY THINGS WE CAN DO. THERE ARE TWO PETITIONS ONE TO SAVE JOURNEYMAN AND ONE IS A SECOND SEASON PETITION. SOME PEOPLE HAVE STARTED A RICE-A-RONI CAMPIAGN AND ARE SENDING IN RICE-A-RONI BOXES TO NBC HEADQUARTERS TO PROTEST THE CUTTING OF JOURNEYMAN AND TO LET THEM KNOW THAT WE WANT IT TO BE SAVED. SO PLEASE VISIT ANYWEBSITE YOU CAN FIND AND HELP US SAVE JOURNEYMAN!!!

WE LOVE JOURNEYMAN AND WANT TO SEE IT STAY!! WHO IS WITH ME?

Jerry Roldan Wed, Dec 12, 2007 at 01:49 AM EST

HEY NBC!! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO? YOU FINALLY PUT ON A GREAT ORIGINAL SHOW AND NOW YOU WANT TO CANCEL IT?? I JUST DON'T GET IT. IF POSSIBLE I HOPE ANOTHER NETWORK PICKS IT UP AND RUNS WITH IT. THIS IS WHY I LOVE FOX.. THEY KNOW WHEN THEY HAVE A HIT AND THEY KNOW WHERE AND HOW TO PLACE IT. I'll stop yelling now. I doubt if NBC even cares about all the petitions out there trying to save this show anf the network. Think about it.. How many prime time game shows can we watch? How many reality shows can we watch? How many hospital shows can we watch? How many funny shows about a dad, his wife and a bunch of kids can we watch? Nothing is original!! Journeyman is the first original show of it's kind that I didn't have to rent or pay on cable.

Lorraine Crews Tue, Dec 11, 2007 at 07:06 AM EST

My husband and I LOVE this program, and we hope it will stay on! We also love Life. These are the only two new shows we're hooked on and DVR every week.

Angie P. Thu, Dec 6, 2007 at 12:45 PM EST

I so love this show! It is so well-acted and thoughtfully written; please don't cancel it NBC! It is the ONLY show I am watching regularly.

Amy Wed, Dec 5, 2007 at 03:15 PM EST

This show CANNOT be cancelled! Go here http://savejourneyman.net/2007/12/04/rally/ to find out how fans are trying to keep it alive!!

Hunterr Tue, Dec 4, 2007 at 12:05 AM EST

What a great show. I started watching it just because it was after Heroes and sounded interesting. Now it's my favorite show. I tried watching Bionic Woman too, but Journeyman is way better. Bionic Woman is just too predictable, while Journeyman is fresh and full of surprises. Maybe if NBC cancels it, SciFi can pick it up.

Janice Trimmell Mon, Dec 3, 2007 at 11:45 PM EST

I love this show. I love the intelligent writing and the science fiction plot twists. Please continue this fine program into next season and beyond

This is my favorite new show of the year. I really hope it continues into a second season.

I think this show deserves a second season and a better time slot. I'd vote for Tuesdays @ 9pm.
Please save Journeyman

DO A TV WATCH FOR DEXTER.

Mike20878 Fri, Nov 30, 2007 at 09:45 PM EST

I DVR Heroes and Journeyman and lately I've been waiting to watch Heroes and watching Journeyman first. I love how the show is dealing with Dan's trips to the past and their consequences in the present. NBC, please give us a back 9!

Lindsay H. Fri, Nov 30, 2007 at 06:22 PM EST

Journeyman is, quite frankly, the best show I've seen in years, and the only one I spend the entire week looking forward to. Everything from the concept, to the actors, to the writing has been excellent from the start - and still gets better by the episode. It's a refreshing change to see a sci-fi plot handled in a serious manner (it makes Heroes look like a cartoon, and I used to be a Heroes fan), and it's a wonderful change of pace from all the endlessly lurid storylines of other dramatic programs. If it suffers from anything, it's a terrible time slot and a severe lack of promotion. I'd say it's doing as well as it, or any other program, could be expected to, under those circumstances. I look forward to seeing it continue to grow, though. It has a great deal of potential, and people who are looking for something different and unique in the land of look-alike television will soon realize just what a gem they've been missing. Spread the word.

Al Fri, Nov 30, 2007 at 05:51 PM EST

Please, please do not take Journeyman away from us. The show is the best that I have seen in a very long time. Acting is great, writing is great, and the show is the
greatest!!

Shaun Daily Fri, Nov 30, 2007 at 04:07 AM EST

The NUTS to CBS for Jericho campaign started on my show and I am calling for an Aspirin to NBC for Journeyman campaign.

We need to get NBC's attention, Dan gets those headaches when he travels so that is the Aspirin..

The fight is on lets show NBC that we mean business..

TanziTwo Fri, Nov 30, 2007 at 12:29 AM EST

we are all talking strategy here. the writers strike is 'scheduled' to end no later than the end of next week. for j-man to catch up, it would take until the beginning of feb (sweeps). continuing our email/blog barrage is good. pressing for a better timeslot is best. perhaps the best is to demand a JOURNEYMAN MARATHON. during the holiday & january slump weeks... if NBC could find the means to air J-man back-to-back-to-back on a slump night like Saturday - for 4 weeks in a row (or so) we could lure the peripheral viewers in to, or back to, the saga they have given up on. there are tons of folks out there that have seen a few eps... a marathon gives them the op to rejoin the story arc - particularly when new/fresh viewing is at a lull - i am just saying.

Ariel Kirkwood Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 11:21 PM EST

I love Journeyman! It has captivated my Monday night and is the only TV show that I will make a note to watch every week! I told my girlfriend about the story and simply the story alone has persuaded her to watch the show! I would hate to see it disappear.

Sherlie Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 11:11 PM EST

I was a little confused when I watched the first show, but now I can hardly wait to see what is going to happen next. Other than 24, this is one of the few shows I watch.

I HAVEN; MISSED A NIGHT AND IT IS JUST SO ADDICTIVE... LIKE WATCHING WEST WING .. ONCE YOU START.. YOU CAN'T STOP... THE BEST OF TV SO FAR THIS SEASON.. THANKS FOR SHOWING... RMC

Magenta Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 10:16 PM EST

I love the show, and I hope NBC wises up and gives it a chance to find legs.

I haven't been so worked up about a show being canceled since "Homefront." Both seasons. :)

Jessica Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 08:12 PM EST

This show is really well-written, and I hope NBC renews it. It's the only drama that I watch on TV.

dave Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 05:58 PM EST

why is it that of all the senseless junk that remains on the networks & keeps getting renewed year after year, that when an intelligent, well-written and thought provoking show comes around, it's immediately slated for cancellation unless it has enormous ratings?...."well, we gave it a great time slot and it didn't fare well, so lets kill it and put on ANOTHER DUMB SITCOM OR REALITY SHOW.....how about "Americas Funniest Dancing With The Animals"?.........C'mon, Journeyman is excellent and has been getting better every week...Can't you ever bite the bullet and leave something that isn't a blockbuster simply BECAUSE it's a good show on?.....I hate to beg...It's beneath me...but will somebody walk over & slap the guy in charge of these decisions, grab him by the lapels and shake him a few times and tell him, "WE'RE KEEPING IT BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY"?..............somebody over there, wake up please.............WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lori Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 04:31 PM EST

I think the reason "Journeyman" isn't getting viewers is because "Samantha Who?" is scheduled to end 2 minutes past the hour. I DVR two shows at 9pm and one other show at 10pm. "Journeyman" usually doesn't get recorded because of that lousy two minutes extra from "Samantha Who?" (it starts at 9:32p, so it's not that it runs longer than usual shows). I had to make a choice and I like "Samantha" just a little bit more than "Journeyman". Here's hoping with the writers strike that the network reairs it on another night to give it another shot.

amy Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 04:22 PM EST

Whatever we have to do to save this show, I'll do it! My husband and I love it, and can't understand why people aren't watching! It is one that we watch right away - we don't even do that with Grey's Anatomy anymore! We have been watching Bionic Woman, but ho hum! Journeyman is so much better - the entire cast of characters brings something interesting to the table! Please save this show!

Cara-Mae Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 04:13 PM EST

As a heads up, many of us are planning to download "Blowback" via iTunes on Monday, December 3, at 10 pm in whatever time zone we are, and this was suggested by a poster on Television Without Pity (www.televisionwithoutpity.com) who goes by the moniker of sdpaperboy. It's on page 110 of the Journeyman thread, which can be found in Forums --- > Other shows --- > Sci-Fi.

There are several sites dedicated to mobilizing fan support, including savejourneyman.funurl.net, journeymantv.net, journeymanfansite.com, and the fans at the Television Without Pity message boards.

I have been onboard with Journeyman since the first episode and I think it is kicking the butts of Heroes and of Bionic Woman for cohesive storylines and well-thought out characters.

I watch it on time-shifting at 7 p.m. and follow it with season 2 of Heroes and I think that's how NBC should be airing it, as I think it would do better as a lead-in show.

So tell everyone - save Journeyman!

Christine Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 03:27 PM EST

I love Journeyman - I usually don't watch it live (it's on too late) but always record to watch later (at least two or three times) It is definately one of the best new shows of the season.

Beth in Oregon Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 03:21 PM EST

Definitely keep the movement going! This show is better than Heroes has been this year, and about a million times better than the craptacular Bionic Woman. And the fan movement is starting to gain some steam. There is already a petition and two websites!

Tracy Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 03:13 PM EST

Nobody is watching Journeyman because it's on too late. Also, Heroes is not that good this season and is hurting Journeyman as its lead-in. I have watched Journeyman since the beginning and I love it!!! Kevin McKidd is terrific, as well as the rest of the cast. With my luck it'll get cancelled and there'll be yet another horrendous piece-of-crap reality show in its place.

portia Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 02:54 PM EST

I love "Journeyman" and can't understand why more people aren't watching it. It's definitely better than "Heroes"! I love how the creators have developed the story, weaving details from earlier episodes into later episodes, gradually giving the viewers more information while at the same time raising new questions. And the cast is uniformly excellent! Save "Journeyman"!

carpano Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 02:11 PM EST

I never felt this way about a tv show like JOURNEYMAN! Im so hooked on the characters and on the storyline! Superb writing gives it such an edge over the lame same ol same ol shows . Give it some time to find its audience!
Please--No more crappy reality shows or stupid cop, murder CSI rehash.. Im so tired of it!!!!
Please!! Renew Journeyman!!!!!!!! That's what I want for Christmas!!

MK Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 02:00 PM EST

I get so frustrated reading some of the comments. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but how can someone be frustrated with not getting all the answers in the first 3 episodes. Allowing a show like this to develop and build the mythology is critical to it's success. Just like Lost, it answers one question and creates even more questions in the process. In the episodes so far, the writers have shown that they have a gameplan with small things in early episodes playing a larger part in later ones. The show is written intellingently enough for us to have faith that the payoff will be worth the time invested. All I can say to people that are concerned that it moves too slowly is have patience. And I beg NBC to show some patience as well!

Stams Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 01:58 PM EST

Save it, save it, save it.

Eric Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 01:23 PM EST

We love this show. It's the only one we watch every single week, and we're big TV fans. This show is absolutely "can't miss" and worth being tired at work the next day for (usually don't watch shows at 10pm).

T.J. Deerinck Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 01:23 PM EST

SAVE JOURNEYMAN!

This show is the one that I can't miss! It is truley a non-veg show! It keeps you engaged, thinking, and blown away at the same time.

NBC.....Are you listening to the people??? If you want to see ratings soar, push it to a different time slot.

This show is the best in your new lineup this fall.

ORDER MORE EPISODES!!!!

nufareddy Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 12:17 PM EST

I'm just clicking onto any site that is trying to save this GREAT show--the best thing to come along in years!!! Is NBC listening???

Beth Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 11:44 AM EST

This is the best new show on television. It's smart and compelling and makes you think. I have watched it from day one and have told all my friends to try it. I will be devestated if it gets canceled!

Scott A. Smith Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 10:14 AM EST

TV has struggled a bit lately to be honest. There seem to be formulas that work and get ratings mostly cop shows and medical dramas. Journeyman is fresh, thought provoking and one of the best written shows I've seen in the past 10 years. Please start to watch, you won't be disappointed.

wudchuk Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 10:05 AM EST

I watched this show before the 4 others I have Tivo'ed on mondays - I can't wait to see this one every week!!

donner Thu, Nov 29, 2007 at 02:11 AM EST

I'm glad to read the comments that say the show is 'great'...but to answer your question as to why I'm not watching it - my answer is very shallow, but truthful...the lead actor is ugly...there...i said it...superficial, I am...

S. Wing Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 10:49 PM EST

They probably won't keep this show because there isn't enough brainless fluff in it. Add a few overweight people crying and/or beauty contestants showing Dan how dumb they can be and the network exec's will eat it up. Either that or have him race around the world with a little person catching a donkey ride to get to the next stop. This show may not make it because the people picked to be the nealson viewers tend to choose the brainless (for lack of a decent word) "stuff" that seems to drag on season after season. Give those boxes to people that think, then the good shows will have a chance!

Journeyman is AWESOME! I watch it online, because it's on the same time as CSI Miami... and I've been a loyal fan for a few years, but I look so forward to Tuesday morning when I wake up, and watch Journeyman! I can't even wait to have breakfast, I need to watch it! Kevin McKidd is awesome, and so is the rest of the cast. It's well written, full of action, and always leaves you wanting more! SAVE JOURNEYMAN!

chaz Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 10:46 PM EST

this is by far the best new show this year beating out pushing daisies.

it's even the best show on NBC that night. yeah i said it, heroes is garbage now.

trcmag Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 09:56 PM EST

What do we need to do to keep Journeyman? Love the show and it's great "together" downtime for me and the hubby after the kids are in bed. KEEP JOURNEYMAN!

Troy Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 09:36 PM EST

I have loved this show from Day One. I do a podcast about it and recommend it to all my friends (check out the podcast in iTunes, check out Journeyman's friends in Myspace)

Dan Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 09:29 PM EST

Journeyman is the best kept secret on tv. It's time to make it the worst! If you haven't seen the show, check out the episodes online at NBC.com.
Shameless plug? You bet. Anything to help draw viewers to the show!

Joe Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 09:00 PM EST

Definitively my favorite show in a good few years. I would be sick to my stomach if they cancel it.

Aaron Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 08:57 PM EST

For anyone who likes shows about time travel, this is one of the best out there. I wouldn't call it the best that ever was, but it's by far one of the best shows you should watch in this season of television. I've also set up a Facebook Group for fans of Journeyman to interact:

Jeff Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 08:46 PM EST

Best show on TV. Why isn't it being promoted? I truly hope NBC keeps this series.

Mark H Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 08:34 PM EST

This show is Great. Yes I love to watch Heroes as well, but this show is just as good. It would be a huge mistake for NBC to cancel this show. It really makes you think. Please tell everyone to watch Journeyman and get the ratings up. That will sent tbtb a message that we are not going away and that the audience is growing.

Odawg Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 08:06 PM EST

This show is amazing! Keep it running...it will grow and have a solid base! Just give it some time!

Carlos Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 06:20 PM EST

This show has the potential to be a classic. It has such a powerful story arc and each episode delivers new jaw-dropping moments. What "Journeyman" fan wasn't absolutely FLOORED when Livia traveled into the Vassar's closet? There are so many moments such as this, which leave you in shock.

In my opinion, It would be a mistake by the network to cancel the
show "Journeyman" outright rather than try to salvage their investment
by moving it. Clearly, it is not only getting killed by "Heroes"
overload, but it may also come on too late for most viewers of this
genre.

DanOregon Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 05:47 PM EST

If Journeyman can't beat the lame October Road - it may be doomed. I really like Journeyman and the mix of A and B stories. I'm still watching.

Wesley Rice Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 05:29 PM EST

Best new show of the season! It would be shameful if it got canceled. See my complete thoughts on it and a link to a "Save Journeyman" petition here: http://musnud.blogspot.com/

Sean S Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 05:11 PM EST

I am guilty of not watching it right away... but Journeyman is now one of the first shows I watch on my DVR when I sit down late at night to catch up with my weekly shows. NBC has a primetime hit if they would just promote it more and move into reality and start counting DVR viewers in their ratings. The nielson system is outdated!

Joshua Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 05:04 PM EST

If they cancel this, I will no longer watch NBC programs. What an absolute terrible company if they keep life but cancel journeyman. Aren't there enough cop/investigation shows out there already?! it's so cliché! Journeyman, however, is written cleverly and really shows development of characters and family. Leave it up to the be execs at NBC to cancel one of the best shows on TV. It's a sad, pathetic world they must live in.

John Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 04:58 PM EST

It's too late to start a petition because they have already started. All the info for the campaign to save Journeyman is on NBC.com's Journeyman message board. If they cancel it expect Jericho like campaign. Thanks EW hopefully this gets more people on board.

Kelli B Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 04:57 PM EST

Tell me where to sign up to keep this show alive! It is my second favorite show after Friday Night Lights!

Amanda Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 04:46 PM EST

If Journeyman gets canceled (God forbid), my husband and I already plan to pull a Jericho and send NBC all of our outdated, old cell phones - who's with us?

Thanks for showing this awesome show some love!

cindy Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 04:32 PM EST

So much love for Journeyman!!! This show is the best show on tv right now. It has gotten better and smarter with each episode!! All the characters have grown on me.
I'm so addicted. I'll be really really upset if they cancel it!! Please, give Journeyman a chance!!

I heart Journeyman Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 03:05 PM EST

Finally someone has some good things to say about Journeyman. Seems like almost every TV critic is so-so on this show. Last nights episode was pitch perfect. I just can't bear to say goodbye!

Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 02:47 PM EST

Don't watch Life?!? Are you kidding?!? I Live for that show

Steph Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 02:18 PM EST

Count me in. I love, love, love Journeyman. The chemistry between all the characters is perfect, and I love how each journey has its own soundtrack. It's must-see TV for my husband and me. If you think it's another Quantum Leap, you've obviously never watched it. Where do I sign that petition?

Please keep Journeyman! Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 02:10 PM EST

This is the first show I've been addicted to in a very long time. It figures NBC would do this to a show I finally like and then go on to endlessly promote stupid shows. I rarely watch TV, but I make a point to always catch Journeyman.

Everyone, make sure you DO NOT watch Life next Monday at 10pm. If NBC sees that Life does worse than Journeyman in the same timeslot then I'll bet they'll sign them on for another season but in a different timeslot. Just DON'T watch Life! How many cop shows do we need anyway? Time for something fresh and new to survive.

Andie Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 02:07 PM EST

Please save this show! I look forward to Journeyman every Monday with the anticipation I should have for Heroes, but don't.

Maggs Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 02:03 PM EST

Thank You!! I thought my sister and I were the only ones who loved this show. In fact theonly reason I started watching the show was because it came on after Heroes. However, with Heroes sucking lately I actually can't wait for Heroes to end so that I can watch Journeyman. Love the story, love the actors and I Love the music. Please NBC I beg u to not cancel this show but you probably will.

good show Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 01:18 PM EST

good show Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 01:15 PM EST

I do enjoy this show and I hope NBC keeps it on at least for one more season. The theme song is great.. it's by Amanda Ghost and a band calle The Rurals but a full version isn't completely finished although on youtube they have a 3 minute song for it. Anyways I don't know if someone mentioned this, but there is a petition so for those who want to sign it's... http://www.petitiononline.com/jmf/petition. html
! added a space before html incase they didn't post it so don't forget to take it out.
