Hello?!?! I am such a Britney fan, and trust me was SO rooting for her all the way to suceed..And as much as I wanted to love that preformance......it was a catastrophe! And DOES NO ONE EXCEPT ME NOTICE THE BUTTERFLY BANDAIDS THAT ARE COVERING HER [MAYBE LIPOSUCTION] SCARS?!?!?!? Look closely on pictures of her with the bikini bottoms being stretched down a little..they're under her naval right on the panty line!! I know these scars cause several friends of mine have had this procedure..and the scaring consists of tiny holes with one or two stiches and an X-looking butterfly bandaid to protect the stiches from chaffing on things such as panties, or bottoms. How sad!! I want the old Britney back..the one that lip-sings well and dances like hell cause she's not afraid to pull out a stich!

It seems to me that her music has always been aimed at 12 year olds. She has out grown that and is to old to be taken seriously by anyone over 16. I don't feel sorry for her at all. She's got the money and she can afford/choose to surround herself with people who have the talent and the brains that she doesn't have. I find it appauling how cruel the public has been. For those who say she looked fat, I would venture to guess she looks better than 90% of you. Such statements from a nation with the highest obesity rate should examine their own physiques. To be a young person going through all she has at once with virtually no support system, where is our compassion?! Britney Spears has ALWAYS coasted along on style over substance. If she had underlying talent, she could transition from pop tart to serious artist. Sex bombs grow older, get wrinkled, and fade out. Truly talented artists can always find an audience. There are reasons that fellow Mouseketeers Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake are enjoying success and growth as artists. They are talented, well-advised, and intelligent; Britney Spears is not.

Spears' voice is inferior AT BEST. Studios tweak her recorded vocals in-house to make her sound decent before releasing her albums. She doesn't sing live because Pro Tools can't alter a live performance; so she lip-syncs, only she forgot the "sync" part. She can't even bother to dance to the beat.

Britney's Lolita schoolgirl tease act is done; stick a fork in her. She should save what money she still has, and take a permanent vacation from celebrity. We are tired of this girl.

I watched the show from Europe and everyone here was so happy to see Britney perform again. Actually all my friends and parents thought that it was the best performance of the show. I'm so surprized why Americans always criticize her (and in a way themselves). I really liked her toned body, her hair, clothes, and her movements. She is still beautiful.

Yes her body does look fine, and thats just it- it's only OK. Lets be honest, OK doesn't get you far in that industry. It IS possible to get back into shape after a pregnancy or even 2(speaking from experience), it's called effort and no beer. I find it interesting that nobody is talking about Britney being obviously stoned when she performed. Perhaps she was high on some prescription drugs, but she was definitely high. I think she blatantly wanted sympathy and she got it. Bless her heart. The performance looked like a run-through before a show where you don't want to give your all. The girl is obviously wounded and severely impaired re: her professionalism. She just needs time off away from the nonsense of this business if she would only take it. Perhaps just being a Mom for a little while would put things into perspective for her.

Obviously, Britney brings on herself most of the bad press that she gets. Her performance was horendous and her outfit was unflattering at best. But to call her fat??? That is beyond ridiculous. Obviously (after 2 babies mind you) she was not quite as toned as in earlier years, but her body is still gorgeous and she is by no means FAT! Quit making excuses for Britney having a flabby body. I looked better at 35 after three kids than Spears does. Children keep you very active. And Britney has a young enough body to snap back within a year after giving birth to a second child. She can well afford a nutritionist and a trainer. If she doesn't want to discipline herself, she shouldn't get up on stage on a nationally televised program in a bikini and expect not to be criticized. Neither is her personal life an excuse. She can't be called an artist by any stretch of the imagination, but she CAN be called an entertainer and it seems she is a very unprofessional one.

I'm amazed by the people shouting "Give her a break!" She's supposed to be a professional, and professionals perform well under all kinds of circumstances. They trim down when they gain weight, they dance their asses off when they perform in front of a massive audience, and they put petty personal problems and disappointments aside when it's time to perform.

Britney Spears isn't your best friend, performing free in the school talent show. She's a well-paid professional, insulting her audience by not giving a crap.

Please stop defending Britney's nonsense. This is all her own doing. She fired her manager for controlling her and now she calls the shots. Too bad she can't aim. She partied until 3am the night before the performance, and arrived three hours late to rehearsals with a margarita in her hand. Criss Angel pulled out because she would rehearse, it wasn't MTV. How does she cap the night? by partying some more, sans panties. I have seen the pictures and that poor vajayjay has been through some abuse.

I am sorry but brits embarrassing performance on sunday night was not just nerves or her being gone from performing for a couple of years. Shes not that good of a singer anyway. They have to enhance her voice in the studio when she records so that it sounds halfway decent. she has turned into a joke on and off the stage. if she is so upset with all the papparzi then why does she continue to act they way she does, when she know that they are all around. As for her weight - she could have picked a more flattering outfit, the criticism she's getting is her OWN FAULT! MTV apparently told her the original rehearsed performance with Chris Angel was to difficullt to pull off. 2ndly she was told that she was not allowed to sing live. Now because of MTV she is not only getting blasted for her performance now its for her wieght, her children its wrong. If i was told not to do something I was working hard on, I would have also came out not caring.

Who cares what is going on with her private life? Two kids, divorce? I dont.
If she was under such duress that she could not performwell she should not have performed at all.
Seriously, it was "leaked" two weeks ago that she would be opening the VMA's. IF I had those two weeks I could have done a better job then her.

So has anyone else gone to the youtube website Josh Simon listed? It is very believable. Yes, it doesn't account for the bad lip synching or wardrobe choice, but I believe he makes a valid point. Yikes. No, she's not fat, but that was an unfortunate costume choice.
The worst, however, was the performance itself - horrifying, and no excuses please. No nerves or time away from the stage can justify how BAD she was. She's a professional, she's had plenty of time to rehearse. And since we know she's not really a singer, 'performance'is all she had going for her. Going, going, gone.
