Which movies are guaranteed to make men cry?

Mar 8, 2007, 06:00 AM | by Joshua Rich

Categories: Film

Rudy_l Morning debate time, PopWatchers — and may the winner be left in tears! I'm talking, of course, about this horribly misguided list of male weepies that Today put together and posted on MSNBC.com. According to the author, these are the seven films that most reliably make men tear up: Dead Poets Society, Gladiator, Legends of the Fall, The Notebook, Rudy, Saving Private Ryan, and Titanic.

Man, oh, man, I'm gonna cry. Where do I begin? Okay, Saving Private Ryan and Rudy — sure, I'll buy those. My most embarrassing moviegoing moment ever was when I was left a blubbering mess in my mommy's arms (at, ahem, age 22) after Tom Hanks died in Steven Spielberg's WWII epic. And I can't even think about little, five-foot-nothin', a hundred-and-nothin' Sean Astin (pictured) and Jerry Goldsmith's swelling music in Rudy without getting all verklempt. But come on: The Notebook? That's not a guy flick. During Brad Pitt's fatal wrestling match with a bear in Legends, aren't you rooting for the bear? And Titanic? Sure, I cry... every time I hear that damn Celine Dion song!

Where are Field of Dreams, Rocky, Schindler's List, The Deer Hunter, Jerry Maguire, The Champ, Glory, It's a Wonderful Life, Longtime Companion, or — I mean, DUH! — BRIAN'S SONG? (Note how many of these movies have to do with sports.) What else is missing, my dear homeboys in Kleenex?

Gladiator....how can u not cry when russell crowe dies?

C.K Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 02:46 PM EST

I'm a b*tch when it comes to movies. I can't stop myself from tearing up. I just saw Front of the Class last night and I have to turn my body so no one can see me. Embarassing...

namar Wed, Aug 27, 2008 at 11:48 PM EST

The One Movie I cried On...

Simon Birch...

i cried twice in that movie... [when he hits the homerun and accidently kills his best friends mom.... and at the end when... you know... he dies]

brandon Wed, Aug 27, 2008 at 11:41 PM EST

Iron Giant; leave me alone.
Bridge to Terabithia. I took my ten year old sister to see this, knowing nothing about it. We were both bawling by the end (mine might have been more because of her than anything).
And of course the guy movies; Field of Dreams, Shawshank, etc. Eternal Sunshine got me right in the gut too.
Wes Anderson. Sigh. I feel like his movies are the feeling of crying without the catharsis. Like any movie by him is an extrapolation of those two seconds after crying where you take a big sniff and kind of laugh at the fact that you're covered in snot.

Kenon Mon, Jul 28, 2008 at 11:57 PM EST

Saving Private Ryan is the movie that still gets me everytime. The part where Capt. Miller gives Private Ryan the final orders on the bridge and the final respects at the end.

Sam Wed, Jul 16, 2008 at 07:24 PM EST

In blow when Jonhhny Depp gets aressted after promising to take his daughter out to calirfornia i think it was,and she's just sitting on the ledge with her suit case waiting for him. and when she goes to the prison so many years later to
Ladder 49, Remember the Titans, Rudy, Friday Night Lights, The Program, Four Brothers, The Guardian, and Radio can all bring some tears too. All them darn football movies.

Matt Wed, Jul 16, 2008 at 07:15 PM EST

Ladder 49 is a tear jerker.
4 Brothers when the rocker brother dies.
When Adam Sandler is laying on the wet ground in Click can bring some tears.
and finally, Remember the Titans when Julius is talking to Gary Burtere (spelling?) in the hospital about growing old together.

asdf Wed, Jul 9, 2008 at 11:54 PM EST

I always cry during Blade Runner; when Deckerd tells Rachel she's a replicant and when Roy dies.

Mon, Jun 23, 2008 at 04:49 PM EST

who cries in rocky literally

it was sad when apollo creed died but i didnt cry

i did cry in the notebook though

Fri, May 23, 2008 at 10:15 PM EST

when i was a kid there was one scene the goofy movie that made me cry like crazy. not anymore. really the only thing that still makes me cry is the jurrasic bark episode of futurama. i know its stupid but i cant even watch the episode i get so teary eyed.

Sat, May 17, 2008 at 10:14 PM EST

Band of Brothers is definitely a tear-jerker. Nothing gets me like 80 yr old men crying for their lost comrades. Also, Pearl Harbor may have been a mediocre movie (at best), but when Cuba Gooding Jr. is saying goodbye to his captain, that gets me every time. Other Winners:
Amazing Grace
We Were Soldiers
A Beautiful Mind
Ladder 49
The Green Mile
Its a Wonderful Life
Top Gun
The Kid (the one with Bruce Willis)
The Fox and the Hound

TooMuchDew Fri, May 2, 2008 at 09:24 AM EST

HBO's "Band of Brothers" miniseries. All of Episode 9 "Why We Fight" but especially when Liebgott has to tell the concentration camp survivors they can't leave yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kauh2xIqqpc
And the baseball game/Dick Winters interview at the end of ep 10 "Band of Brothers" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a_iCUhOm0U wrecks me EVERY time and I've watched the whole series through probably 8 times

Abdalla Fri, Mar 28, 2008 at 09:50 PM EST

The movie "Click" Made me almost cry.

Fer Castro Fri, Feb 15, 2008 at 08:37 AM EST

I just saw Rocky II and I cried when he gets up at the end. After having seen the whole movie, thinking about all he must have felt at that moment. :|

FREE WILLY- when he escapes
ET- "ill be right here"
NOTEBOOK- obvious reasons
LAKE HOUSE- yeah reminds me of my first love
lion king- when the father gets killed
forest gump, walk the line, pearl harbour

and GALLIPOLLI

Rick Wed, Dec 12, 2007 at 09:42 AM EST

This is my offering of "other" movies that I hadn't seen listed previously:

"Stealing Home"
"Once Around"
"Dead Poet's Society"

And the most fantastic cry ever in a theater was performed by me during the movie "Radio", when Radio's mother dies.

Oddly enough, my wife was laughing...at me.

dave Tue, Nov 13, 2007 at 12:03 AM EST

I agree with almost every one of the movies listed on this page ranging from Forrest Gump to Big Fish to The Champ to The Notebook and many more...but for me nothing matches the end of Field of Dreams. One I haven't yet seen on this list, though, The Five People You Meet in Heaven; that would be my number two pick.

Liam Bere Fri, Oct 26, 2007 at 10:01 AM EST

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is an awesome film. Fantastic soundtrack and also very emotional at points, particulary when 'Boobie' pulls the mercedes brochure out of his locker after the injury and sits in the car crying. That part gets me every time and i made the foolish mistake of telling my girlfriend i dont cry when i watch that film.

andy Sun, Sep 23, 2007 at 01:24 PM EST

friday night lights and field of dreams every time

the scene in blow where johnny depp is making the tape recording for his dad gets me sometimes too.

John Tue, Aug 28, 2007 at 09:09 PM EST

Pay it Forward and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. First time i saw them the knot in my throat was the size of an orange.

Eddie Sun, Jun 3, 2007 at 05:45 PM EST

The movie Something for Joey gets me everytime

Nick Tue, Mar 27, 2007 at 05:47 PM EST

Jerry Maguire and Friday Night Lights get me every time

Andrew Tue, Mar 27, 2007 at 05:36 PM EST

How about Forrest Gump? It gets me every time when he's talking to Jenny's grave and he says that he misses her... so sad. One of the only movies to make me cry, along with Moulin Rouge and Gladiator (although I have to be in a bad mood already to cry during those)

mike Mon, Mar 19, 2007 at 07:27 AM EST

The final rocky installment (among many already mentioned). Although I'm no bing Rocky fan, it is two scenes; stallone remembering the ole skating rink and Adrian's brother getting mad, and when Stallone gives his son a speech. Tore me to pieces.

Fozzy Bear Fri, Mar 16, 2007 at 10:13 AM EST

What about "The Muppet Movie", when Mel Brooks was going to kill Kermit for his legs or whatever? I still get upset thinking about it to this day. YOU BASTARD, MEL, LEAVE MY LITTLE GREEN BUDDY ALONE!!!

Doug Fri, Mar 16, 2007 at 10:05 AM EST

Schindlers List - when Schindler's Jews present Liam Nissen with a gold ring made from teeth sacrificed - and he breaks down and begins list off the meager assets he has left as it relates to more people he culd have bought from the Nazi's - I defy you to not get choked up. Most emotional piece of cinema I've ever seen.

driskell Thu, Mar 15, 2007 at 05:02 AM EST

What about "Something For Joey"? John Cappalletti's Heisman Trophy acceptance speach about his little brother Joey at the end of the movie is heartwrenching.

Ryan Sun, Mar 11, 2007 at 12:23 AM EST

Forgot one. Has anyone seen Shadowlands with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger? The fact that it's a true story gets me everytime. When C.S Lewis and the little boy hold each other and cry, oh man. I defeintly have to go grab a drink or something.

Ryan Sun, Mar 11, 2007 at 12:20 AM EST

I have only teared up in a couple movies (Where the Red Fern Grows comes to mind..) but as a grown man, I have never sobbed the way I sobbed when I saw..
The Passion. Seriously, I could barely breathe.

John Marc Sat, Mar 10, 2007 at 11:36 PM EST

i forgot one last one: Schindler's List. the whole "could have saved one more" speech at the end was classic. i still see that part on youtube all the time. i also want to mention movies that made me cry because they were so awful. Meet Joe Black immediately comes to mind. and more recently the movie Babel. I guess movies that have no endings really make me ball. others that are pitifully awful are most Tom Cruise movies (except The Outsiders, Collateral, and Born On The Fourth Of July) Thin Red Line (which was so awful I never finished watching it), the X-Men movies, and anything with Jennifer Lopez in it.

John Marc Sat, Mar 10, 2007 at 11:24 PM EST

these are the ones that really make me get emotional
6. Rudy (need I say more)
5. Frequency (because I lost my Dad when I was young)
4. Simon Birch (the kid Simon was just and impacting character)
3. Gladiator (because it demonstrates the beauty of family)
2. Bicentennial Man (please see this if you like epic and emotional movies)
1. and the classic of all time Brian's Song

Jakeem Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 01:55 PM EST

The "Godfather" movies are about a family on the verge of breaking apart because of inner and outer forces it cannot control. Who can't identify with that?
They also are about the dark side of the American Dream, innocence lost, and the consequences of choices we make.
I, for one, find them compelling, powerful and heartbreaking! It's the greatest trilogy in the history of the cinema.

Boy Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 11:51 AM EST

To the people who mentioned any of The Godfather movies. Please go get yourself checked out. While the first two are very good movies and entertaining cinema, how can you possibly care enough about such despicable characters to cry when they suffer. They are racists, sexists, cheats, criminals, and murderers (including their own family members). I really could not care less about their misfortunes.

Boy Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 11:44 AM EST

She's Having a Baby. Good call. That one get's me too.

Also:
It's A Wonderful Life
Life is Beautiful
Father of the Bride
Rudy
Field of Dreams

Phantom Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 10:46 AM EST

What, no one bit on my "Cannonball Run" post? You are all heartless.

Seriously, I have to agree with Bennie. I don't get what was so great about "Brokeback". I'm not homophobic, it wasn't that compelling of a story. Not sure why it was so important to tell the story of two gay cowboys.

On the other hand, that one scene in "Saving Private Ryan" where they are landing on the beach. That one guy that has his intestines hanging out - he's in shock and reverting back to his childhood and yelling for his Mom. That's a brutual, brutual scene. That made me cry...and miss my Mom.

Anne Marie Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 10:21 AM EST

My brother always made fun of me for crying at movies, but I definitely saw him shed a tear at both Glory and Rudy. I always cry at Hoosier even though I've seen it a million times and know they win. The scene at the end of Field of Dreams when James Earl Jones gives his speech about why people will come also gets me every time.

TVNATION Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 10:10 AM EST

I was on a cross country flight in the middle of the day when a so called "children's film" My Dog Skip came on as the in-flight entertainment. Ninety minutes later about a dozen grown men had tears streaming down their faces - me being one of them.

amy Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 07:47 AM EST

someone mentioned "about a boy" when hugh grant gets on stage to save the little boy's performance...sob. also, little miss sunshine. when the whole family supports olive during the pageant. how could you NOT cry? i highly recommend...

Brent Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 07:09 AM EST

Ok, it's not a movie, but it's even better. It's "Rome." When Pullo is sentenced to die in the arena. He tells the gladiators to go ahead and kill him. He won't fight. But then they mock the 13th Legion. Pullo defends his former unit's honor, killing gladiator after gladiator, and shouting, "Thirteeeeeen!!!" after each one. But he's wearing down. He hasn't got much left. Then they send the huge guy with the spiky, skull-shaped club to finish him off. All of the sudden, "Thirteeeeen!!!" Lucius Vorenus jumps out of the crowd to his old friend's defense (and taking out the huge gladiator in the most badass manner conceivable). The only scene in TV or movies I can think of that elicits tears and fist pumps at the same time.

Jakeem Fri, Mar 9, 2007 at 12:38 AM EST

Why does "Ole Yeller" make everybody so sad? He only ran away at the end. I'm sure he found a new family that loved him and took care of him.

Freddy Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 11:52 PM EST

1-Awakenings.- that scene when Robert Deniro see his mother for the first time.
2-Cinema Paradiso
3-Avalon
4-Sophie's Choice

MP Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 11:41 PM EST

finally - someone said the Green Mile...

Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 11:37 PM EST

One Flew over the cuckoo's nest
The Deer Hunter
Schindler's List
It's a Wonderful Life
Million Dollar Baby
Braveheart
Platoon
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
United 93
Flags of Our Fathers

JMC Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 10:55 PM EST

My dad cries, without fail, at the end of Pinnochio when he becomes a real boy.
Makes me love him even more.

brandonk Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 09:10 PM EST

This is a list of movies that make straight guys cry, right?
I have to admit that I really got emotional during the trailer (yes, the trailer) for "Amazing Grace". "Brokeback Mountain" did a number on me, too.

Johnny Rocket Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 08:13 PM EST

Sling Blade.

mikey Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 07:56 PM EST

The other posters on here have done a far better job than the folks at MSNBC at cataloging the male tearjerkers. I'll just add that "Field of Dreams" and "E.T." really stand the test of time and still get me after repeated viewings

Just a comment on the MSNBC list, if I cried at all during "Legends of the Fall," it was because I saw it on an airplane and came to the realization that I couldn't walk out.

kryia Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 07:54 PM EST

What Dreams may Come and Saving Private Ryan made my husband cry. I can't say much, I was tearing up reading these comments...

kris irizarry Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 07:50 PM EST

none of those listed made me cry. i'm no stone-face though, perhaps just affected differently. the last movies that made my cry were eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, lost in translation, donnie darko, crouching tiger, pulp fiction, withnail and i, the godfather part 2--everytime this occured after the final scene and the closing credits elegantly faded in. i guess i have a thing for a good ending.

victoria Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 07:50 PM EST

My father always tears up during Field of Dreams, Schindler's List, and the Color Purple.

Jewishy Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 07:48 PM EST

Did anyone list 'LOTR: Return of the King?' Never fails!

Ned Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 07:40 PM EST

Rudy and Field of Dreams without a doubt. But what about Miarcle?

do you believe in miarcles? yes!

Anne Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 06:54 PM EST

The only time I ever saw my husband even get close to crying at a movie was James Dean's "East of Eden". We saw it when we were dating, and that's when I knew he was the one.

PrincessKim Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 06:48 PM EST

Only one movie has ever made my husband tear up.That was "In the Name of the Father"

JAMES Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 06:29 PM EST

Glory always gets me, the part when matthew Broderick's character asks:Who will carry the flag if this man should fall "Snowflake" steps up and says:"I will"

Chris Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 06:22 PM EST

No one has mentioned "Moulin Rouge"? I don't know about anyone else, but the first time I saw it, I was so totally distracted by the music and the colors and the dancing and the love story that I completely forgot that Christian said that Satine had died. I felt so terrible after leaving that movie.

KC Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:57 PM EST

I cried during "Titanic" b/c it sucked so bad.

KC Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:55 PM EST

My bf loses it at the end of "The Family Man." It gets him every time.

Rob Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:53 PM EST

Was not at the movies. But I dare any guy not to watch the entire Band of Brothers mini-series and not break down in the very last scene where the real Dick Winters talks about serving in a company of heroes.

pede Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:40 PM EST

My boyfriend loses it over any baseball movie, The Notebook, and Message in a Bottle. Actually, a lot more than that, but those are his major weepies.

harry Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:37 PM EST

Any given Sunday
Never ending story
Hamburger hill
Midnight cowboy
Dancers in the dark
La En
A long engagement
Titus
Odinary People
Cowboy bebop

Jessica Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:36 PM EST

My dad cries at the end of Disney's The Little Mermaid; the "father-letting-go-of-daughter" ending is too much for the father of two girls to handle!

Gurtz Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:30 PM EST

Ang Knee, the movie you're thinking of with Dan Ackroyd & Macaulay Culkin is "My Girl".

I'll also add Terminator 2 to my list.

Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:29 PM EST

Hoop Dreams. C'mon, so obvious it hurts.

Rahul Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:23 PM EST

Yes Steve! Thanks for reminding me about the end of 'Schindler's List.' I forgot about that.

Steve Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:21 PM EST

The "could have saved one more" speach at the end of Schindler's List kills me every time.

Gurtz Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:10 PM EST

A few come to mind:
- Cocoon
- Armageddon
- Deep Impact
- What's Eating Gilbert Grape
- E.T.
- Bridge to Terabithia
- Sixth Sense (the scene in the car at the end with mom)
- A.I.
- Stand By Me
- Pay it Forward
- My Dog Skip
- Schindler's List
- Cry the Beloved Country
- Nobody Knows

Wow, that's quite a lot. Scary!

Jakeem Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:07 PM EST

How about "The Godfather Part II"? Michael Corleone loses just about everything dear to him in order to hold onto power. At the end, the movie hits you with a surprise flashback to Dec. 7, 1941, which was Don Corleone's birthday and the beginning of the end of the family's good times.
Then it switches back to Michael all alone, and then the end credits roll.
Gets to me every time!

Anna Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 05:02 PM EST

hey, I know a LOT of men that have gotten teary during The Notebook!

For me, it's the end of Return of the King... it's nerdy, but true. I was mostly crying because it was my last time experiencing Lord of the Rings for the first time.

David Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:59 PM EST

Ok, let's just all agree that most sports movies with an underdog, a movie with where a dog dies or son/father relationships make most men cry

Rahul Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:50 PM EST

I'd put 'Saving Private Ryan' on the top of my list too. I broke down for a good 10 minutes after Hanks's character said, "Earn this." Also on my list is 'Million Dollar Baby.'
I'd really like to know who cried at the end of 'Gladiator'. That wasn't that sad.

Rick Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:46 PM EST

someone mentioned Captains Courageous--Spencer Tracy is a Portuguese fisherman who becomes best friend and father figure to rescued-out-of-the-water rich brat Freddie Bartholomew. Bartholomew learns through hard work and Tracy's example, how to be a man. In case you decide to rent this GREAT movie, I won't tell more, but I can almost guarantee the tears.

Bennie Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:39 PM EST

I was so excited to see Brokeback Mountain because the trailer look excellent, BUT it was one of the most disappointed moments of my life. I know of guys who say they couln't stop crying at the end , but I was just waiting for the f*&^ing mess to end. Now the movies that made me cry were "The last samurai", when all of the samurais get killed at the end. "Pan's Labyrinth" made me very emotional. But the movie the always brings me to a flood of tears is "Nausicaa of the valley of the wind" by japanese anime master Hayao Miyazaki. I recommend this movie to everyone, and, prepare to shed some tears at the end when Nausicaa realize what must be done in order to save her village.

nay-lo Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:37 PM EST

Oh and my dad always cries when he sees Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows - both dog movies. And my dad is a very tough old guy. Those ones always get to him though.

nay-lo Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:35 PM EST

I have a guy friend who actually admitted crying to Whalerider. Ouch.

Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:29 PM EST

props for mentioning Field of Dreams and Glory, those always make me cry.

however, the first movie to ever make me drop tears was Terminator 2: Judgment Day. seriously. that ending? totally left me bawling like a small child.

Phantom Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:20 PM EST

Wow, you are all WAY offbase. The greatest men's tear-jerking movie of all time is "Cannonball Run". How it got slighted for the Best Picture Oscar in 1981 is anyone's guess. The backstory of Mel Tillis and Terry Bradshaw tingles spines. And that last sequence, where Captain Chaos saves that dog...pure cine-magic!!!

Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:16 PM EST

In twenty plus years I've only seen my husband cry once over a movie. It was She's Having a Baby, when the husband goes to get his scrubs on and when he comes back they've taken his wife for an emergency c-section and they're not sure she or the baby are going to make it.

dj Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:15 PM EST

great movies from others on this post. but every movie in this category is a distant second at best compared to BRIAN'S SONG: "I love Brian Piccolo. And I'd like all of you to love him too. And so tonight, when you hit your knees, please ask God to love him." I'M CRYING ALREADY!

Kevin Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 04:08 PM EST

It's the father/son moments that always get me. Field of Dreams, that hug the little boy in Love, Actually gives Liam Neeson. I think it all stems from the song "Cats in the Cradle", the only song that makes me cry.

sal vation Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:59 PM EST

Barb Wire with P. Anderson. A classic tearjerker.

Golfview Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:57 PM EST

Nobody else has mentioned Gangs of New York. I first saw it in December of 2002, and at the end when Scorsese started advancing the city though time with the towers being the last thing you see...my wife and I lost it. The most I remember crying in a theatre.

Julie Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:45 PM EST

I'd just like to say, my husband got teary-eyed toward the end of "The Notebook." Though I wouldn't expect any guy to if they'd never been in love, the deep no-matter-what-you're-the-only-one kind of love.

Delon Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:39 PM EST

Oh, i forgot to add Birdy with Nicholas Cage and Matthew Modine from 1984.Two friends arrive back from Vietnam, scarred in different ways. One has physical injuries, the other has mental problems that make him yearn to be a bird. Anyone remember that? It was a heart-breaking story about the power of friendship and boy did i cry!!!

Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:35 PM EST

I've seen Steel Magnolias a 100 times & I still cry like a baby when Sally Fields gives her speech at the cemetery.

Dhungangha Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:32 PM EST

Bridges of Madison County. Mystic River. A Million Dollar Baby. I guess Clint knows how to make me cry!

Torin Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:28 PM EST

Thanks PicklePancakes!!! I wasn't going to mentions Steel Magnolias simply because it wasn't a "guy's movie", but it's my FAVORITE movie and I still get misty-eyed during that after funeral scene.

jonathan Thu, Mar 8, 2007 at 03:26 PM EST

Kramer v. Kramer

My list:

* The Searchers. 'Let's go home, Debbie' gets me everytime.

* The Green Berets. The little Vietnamese boy asking John Wayne what would happen to him, and the Duke tells the boy to let him worry about it.

* Home Alone. For the next door neighbor old man.

* It's a Wonderful Life.

* Miracle on 34th Street. The little Dutch girl scene.

* Scrooged. Okay, laugh, but when Bill Murray is going on during his rant and talking about the ex-girlfriend... And the little boy speaking at the end.
