What 'SNL' alums besides Chris Parnell should guest on '30 Rock'?

151655__neverdie_l Chris Parnell will guest-star on tonight's 30 Rock as a high-powered doctor-to-the-stars with very bad hair. That's the cover of his character's book, Never Die, to your left. It's good advice, though a more fitting recommendation to today's celebs might be Never Age. I love the unexplained asterisk and low-budget "gradient" color effects characteristic of a beginner's Photoshop class. And the back of the jacket features testimony from a "writer," a "freelance writer," and a resident of Brooklyn, so we know whatever Dr. Spaceman says is legit.

Parnell's appearance could spark a slew of other guest spots from other Saturday Night Live folks (ahem, Amy Poehler. It'd be legal, right? What's the holdup?). What other SNL-ers (past and present) would you like to see on 30 Rock? I've personally been wondering what Stuart Smalley's been up to all these years, but I'm probably the only one, because whenever I come across a rerun of him and leave the channel on, I get yelled at.

Yeah, I think Parnell is a fine piece of flesh! He may be old, but age is just a number!I LOVE CHRIS PARNELL!!!!!

Nick, was she? I did not recognize her? And Dratch was bumped off for Krakowsky? Boo! The last time Jane was funny, she was Randy Quaids first daughter in Vacation.

EP Sato Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 02:54 PM EST

NICK, I totally missed that! I'm going to have to re-watch the Ep just so I can review the blue monster scenes. Though it's doubtful anything can top her Liz Taylor impersonation, that was wild!

Stephanie Travitsky Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 02:11 PM EST

I meant Terry Sweeney (no relation to Julia)as the interns brother.

Dave Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 11:49 AM EST

I would love to see Amy Poehler, Darrell Hammond, Molly Shannon, Cheri Oteri, and Will Ferrell. I think Steve Martin as a stiff GE official would be great, and more of Rachel Dratch would also be nice!

Nick Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 11:21 AM EST

RayT...

Dratch was in last night's episode. She was the blue creature.

another Tim, again (meaning the second Tim, not a completely new Tim) Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 10:19 AM EST

I think America is ready for Julia Sweeney's triumphant return to television as Pat.
Nice Black Flag reference EP.

EP Sato Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 09:52 AM EST

Eddie Murphy could come on as Tracy's crazy cousin. Come on Eddie, what have you done for me lately, Eddie?

another Tim Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 08:55 AM EST

My wish list would start with Bill Murray and Steve Martin (who wasn't actually a cast member), but I also have a weird thing for Norm McDonald. Just so long as they stay clear of Jim Belushi.

Deb Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 08:08 AM EST

Hey people what about Will Ferrell? He's gotten so famous, that playing a big headed pain in the a** star wouldn't be too far fetched. Also Horatio Sanz and Darrell Hammond would be cool.

Ryan Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 07:30 AM EST

I'd love to see Cheri O'Teri show up, she is too funny to not be on TV. Also I agree with RayT, they need to do more with Rachel Dratch... she left SNL for Tina Fey and all she gets is to play Cat ladies and Liz Taylor for 20 seconds a week... not enough!!

Luke Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 01:14 AM EST

Ugh! Totally not enough Chris Parnell on the show. But I'll take what I can get.

RayT Fri, Dec 8, 2006 at 12:15 AM EST

I still can't believe they replaced Rachel Dratch with Jane Krakowski! And then they tried to make it up to us by giving us those 2-second cameos of her which, unless I wasn't paying close enough attention, was conspicuously missing from tonight's episode! They should bring her back as a full cast member, perhaps as a member of the writing team. I miss Debbie Downer!

Jimmy Fallon. He and Tina Fey had great chemistry and an eight year old son. (SNL gag)

Brad in Edmonton Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 05:41 PM EST

The funniest woman in the history of SNL (sorry Gilda) : MOLLY SHANNON !!

EP Sato Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 05:34 PM EST

Steve Martin as a GE executive. I've got a feeling he could pull the "stiff" jokes off really well.

OH MAN! Tonight's Betty and NBC kicks azz night! thanks for the reminder of my evening plans. Woo hoo!
See you guys through my tv strained eyes tomorrow.

One last bit: We've got, nothing better to do, than watch NBC and have a couple' a brews.

Stephanie Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 05:14 PM EST

Easy,

Denny Dillon, Todd Sweeney, Julia Sweeney, Cheri Oteri,Ana Gastyer,Molly Shannon,Ellen Cleghorne, Tim Meadows, and Mark McKinney.

Tim Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 04:56 PM EST

Annie, Amy Poehler isn't an alum; she's still on SNL.

Jimmy Fallon? Oh, yeah, him.

Nick Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 04:38 PM EST

Garrett Morris as Tracy Jordan's father.

Jess B. Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 04:32 PM EST

I'd love to see Amy Poehler on the show! Hell, while they're at it, they should get Amy, and have her bring Will Arnett along with her!

I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy Fallon showed up, either. It's pretty obvious that the guy with the scruffy hair and all the impressions is based on Jimmy.

Luke Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 04:29 PM EST

Thanks for the tip, Annie. I've been missing Parnell and tonight I'll get a fix!

GOB Thu, Dec 7, 2006 at 04:08 PM EST

Ellen Cleghorne should join the cast as Tracy Jordan's wife, girlfriend or sister.
