'Battle of the Network Stars' is back!

Categories: Television

Ready for an update of the 1970s Battle of the Network Stars? Bravo will air a new version that pits 32 reality TV vets (including Survivor's Richard Hatch and Susan Hawk and Amazing Race's Charla and Myrna) against each other in athletic contests like jousting, kayaking, and tug-of-war.

Complete this sentence: Bravo's late-summer series Battle of the Network Reality Stars is a sign...

a) ...that reality stars have equalled or surpassed actual actors in fame.
b) ...that no network actors were athletic enough (or desperate enough) to compete.
c) ...that '70s Battle veterans Loretta Swit, Lou Ferrigno, and Jimmie Walker, who'll cameo, are still alive.
d) ...that Omarosa, Bachelor Bob, and Trishelle, who'll serve as commentators, will never go away, ever.
e) ...of the impending Apocalypse.

Choose as many of these as you think apply. Or add your own.

the original specials in the 70s are collectibles and should be released on dvds soon! farrah! lynda carter!! etc. etc. it's nice to see shapely actresses (and good-looking actors) get athletic and have fun! it's a big change from their comedy or action-drama routine on tv.

as for the reality stars, uhm, doesn't most of these shows require them to be athletic enough? so what else is new???

C'mon this is my youth! I'll be watching, and I have no idea who Trishelle is. But go Myrna and Shmyrna!

Janet Fri, Jun 24, 2005 at 01:52 PM EST

Go Charla!. The show is worth watching just to see her again. Hope she wins this time.

d. Seriously, that dumb tramp Trishelle needs to go away! I never understood why the men of MTV reality were so obsessed with that unattractive hick. And I have a bone to pick with southerners: can somebody please explain to me why y'all say 'whenever' to describe an event that happened ONCE! The word 'when' is in existence for a reason, use it, damn it. Trishelle was the first person I ever noticed that used this, and more recently, Erin on Apprentice said in the live finale "Whenever I got fired, Kendra..." but she was obviously only fired once. Learn English!

Bravo's late-summer series Battle of the Network Reality Stars is a sign...

That the words "reality" and "stars" do not go well together.
