Yes, there will be some beach makeouts.

Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr got pulses racing in From Here to Eternity back in 1953, and the new musical of James Jones’ heralded WWII novel aims to raise temperatures yet again. Starting Oct. 2 (with more showtimes in the week following), Fathom Events and Omniverse Vision will broadcast the London stage production to nearly 400 digital cinemas across the U.S., which will feature 20 minutes of bonus footage and behind the scenes extras. EW has procured three exclusive tracks from the production.

The West End musical stars Darius Campbell and Rebecca Thornhill in the same roles, as a platoon sergeant and a commander’s wife carrying on a torrid wartime affair, while his withdrawn Private (Robert Lonsdale) falls for a club girl (Siubhan Harrison) as Pearl Harbor looms closer and closer. Captured over two evenings, the production is directed for the screen by Nick Morris (Les Miserables – 25th Anniversary Concert), and adapted for the stage by Tim Rice (lyrics), Stuart Brayson (music), and Bill Oakes (book).

Says Rice of the project, “I am delighted that our ambitious musical version of this magnificent story is going to be available to cinemas across the U.S… it’s an epic tale with a score to match so it’s fantastic that our version will get a big screen release.”
