Kanye West is a blowfish, and other ridiculous things from his 'GQ' interview

Kanye West is a blowfish—not a shark, a blowfish. At least, that’s how he describes himself in a new interview with GQ that, predictably, features many other gems from the candid star.

Sure, some of the interview is actually pretty sweet—he talks about wanting to make sure his daughter’s life is better than his own, how much he loves his wife, Kim Kardashian, how special it is to have someone to call “Mom” once again. (He also basically confirms that every insane rumor you heard about the Kimye wedding was 100 percent true.) But when we look to Kanye West, we’re hoping to get some more of his signature out-there statements—and luckily, there’s no shortage of them in this latest interview. The best examples, totally out of context:

“I hope we don’t see no paparazzi today. Because I’m still getting acquainted with these jogging pants I threw on. Like, ‘That’s not my statement!'”
And we thought wearing jogging pants was always a statement.

“I don’t have fangs. I’m a porcupine. I’m a blowfish. Like, I’m a—what’s the fish that blows up?”
So now we know.

“And anyone knows that you cannot pick up tools yourself, because of—what are those rules about the workers?”
(The word he’s looking for is “unions.”)

“Like they said in Step Brothers: Never lose your dinosaur. This is the ultimate example of a person never losing his dinosaur.”
Apparently he also never lost his Step Brothers DVD — he also quoted the Will Ferrell movie in 2010’s “See Me Now” with the line “like a mix between Fergie and Jesus.” (Also, the dinosaur thing is somehow a reference to his relationship with Kim.)

“Carine Roitfeld is the Walt Disney of what Tumblr is today. She is the Kanye West of what Tumblr is today.”
The former French Vogue editor must be so proud.

“I just want to do crazy, colorful sh– like ["Bound 2"] that has more nudity.”
Does this mean his kilt phase is over?

“I argue that it’s the best rap verse of all time. It’s the Coming to America or Anchorman of a verse.”
Because Anchorman is definitely the best movie of all time.

“Because I don’t like walking around with people thinking I’m doing uncool sh–, because there’s nothing I’m doing that’s uncool. It’s all innovative. You just might not understand it yet. But it’s cool.”
He’s still talking about those jogging pants, isn’t he? They’re cool, Kanye! It’s okay!

“You see I haven’t name-dropped and said a bunch of negative stuff about people.”
Because that would be crazy.
