With the fourth midseason finale of The Walking Dead less than one week away, fans are gearing up for an epic showdown between the Governor and Rick as they stand off in a battle for the Prison. Wait, what season is this?
This isn’t the first time the Governor and his crew faced off against Rick and the gang. The former leader of Woodbury first became interested in the Prison back in season 3, when he learned Rick’s group cleared out the stronghold, after interrogating Maggie in “When the Dead Come Knocking.” He then attacked the Prison, failing to take control of it after two heavily armed assaults. Perhaps for the Governor, the third time is the charm.
After enjoying — or enduring, depending on your perspective — two episodes focusing on the Governor, The Walking Dead seems to be heading into familiar territory. Are you pumped that the Governor is back making the lives of those in Rick’s group a living hell? Or are you by bored by the constant rehashing of the Governor’s plans to take the Prison for himself?
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
