The Gleeks shall inherit cable at 8 p.m. tonight, when Bravo airs an episode of Inside the Actors Studio devoted to McKinley High’s finest. Sadly, the show won’t reveal whether Rachel and Finn are going through with their ill-advised marriage, or whether poor Quinn has become the next Marissa Cooper; for that, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s long-awaited spring premiere.
The special should satisfy fans who yearn to know more about Ryan Murphy, Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, and Jane Lynch. (Heather Morris is absent, probably because she was busy seeing a misogynist about a pesky pulled hamstring.)
It’s tough to choose which of Bravo’s six promo videos is the most scrumtrulescent. If pressed, I’d have to go with the clip in which Matthew Morrison reveals that as a young “gang” member in Orange County, he learned how to do the electric boogaloo. Check out Mr. Schue’s best You Got Served moves:
Thank God his hair’s so stiff! When you’re doing the windmill, stray strands get in the way.
And then there’s this juicy snippet, which reveals both how Glee itself came to be (hint: It involves Ryan Murphy standing “naked as a jaybird”) and how Sue Sylvester was born. Murphy and his co-creators wanted a “Jane Lynch type” for the part before they decided to go after Lynch. But first, co-executive producer Ian Brennan came up with this description of the character:
But the show won’t be all b-boy moves and horse estrogen. Take, for example, this last video, in which Murphy talks about his connection to Kurt Hummel. Chris Colfer also opines about the character, veering from sober analysis to sarcasm in the span of a few seconds.
Will you watch the stars of Glee talk quietly with James Lipton tonight, PopWatchers? And which clip makes you most excited for the show?
