Remember, remember… the something… of something.

Turns out, tomorrow is Guy Fawkes Day. Of course, if you’ve visited or attended any of the Occupy Wall Street rallies or protests, every day has sort of looked like Guy Fawkes Day. As pointed out by the Associated Press, Guy Fawkes masks, made famous by the V For Vendetta graphic novel and movie, have become something of a staple for the Occupy movement. Fawkes, a Catholic Englishman who tried to bomb the British Parliament in 1605, has become the unofficial face of OWS and his message (which one OWS protestor described to the AP as “being anonymous — and peaceful”) could especially resonate on the date of the anniversary of his attempt on…

…the fifth of November! Got it!

Do the Guy Fawkes masks freak you out? Are you disturbed or concerned by the contradiction of the Occupy movement associating itself with a figure not exactly celebrated for his peaceful means? Or is it simply just a kick-ass Halloween mask? Share in the comments section below.
