How the F did the Lawrence Welk sketch get on there? My hell would be watching that for all eternity.

Give me Matt Foley, the Super fans or Mister Robinson any day over that.

    • 90s

How did the “Barry Gibb Talk Show” make it there, this site is ridiculous in how it treats Fallon as some great comedic genius

      • KC

No, EW is shoving Timberlake out there more so.

      • cuo

Yeah, I don’t think you can beat Celebrity Jeopardy.BTW,I wanna share a good news to you.My best friend ,she just has announced her wedding with a millionaire man who is a businessman
!they met via Millionaireloving.C óM ..it is the largest and best club for rich people and their admirers to chat online. …You do not have to be rich or famous. ,but you can meet one , It’s worthy a try,Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends!

      • AreU4Real

I actually voted for the Barry Gibb talk show. It always makes me laugh. My favorite episodes are usually the JT episodes. He is so funny!

      • Squishmar

Timberlake and Fallon’s harmonies are so good!

    • Dolly

The writers name is Mandi with an ‘i’, so clearly she can’t be trusted to write a good article. That said, she’s probably not even OLD enough to appreciate the SNL golden years. This girl is an IDIOT! Where did she even GET the data that she’s presenting? “Here are the funniest recurring snl skits, in my 23 year old opinion and from what my coworkers told me…” is what the article should be called.
This is why I no longer subscribe to this awful magazine.

      • not sure

that’s a lot of flak coming from someone named “Dolly”

      • Steph

Dolly, you’re probably just trolling, but still it’s pretty ridiculous to draw conclusions about a writer’s age and experience based on the spelling of their name. Mandi Bierly has been writing for EW for nearly ten years, discussing pop culture that spans decades. And I’m sorry, but “data”? These are nominations, there’s no data of any kind. The data comes out at the end, in the poll where readers (unfortunately yourself included) vote on their choice.

      • Squishmar

Dolly said, “This is why I no longer subscribe to this awful magazine.” Could you start avoiding the Website too? Please?

      • Bernadette

Mandi’s a seasoned vet at EW, watch it sister. I’ll got to war for her!

    • theBigE

I love the Lawerence Welk show with Judith and her sisters from the Finger Lakes. And I’m 40. It comes in my top 3 or 4.

    • ccc

You forgot a great one—Dan Akroyd as Fred Garvin, male prostitute. Very funny!

      • Texasman

Fred Garvin is a hoot. Heelarryus. Still, gotta go with The Coneheads.

    • O’Snap

      Ridiculous choices, EW.

      DEBBIE DOWNER FOR THE WIN!!

    • mclovin

I always liked the Roxbury guys..What is love..? Jim Carrey was great..and what bout the cheerleaders spartan spirit with Will Ferrell & Cheri Oteri

  • amber

    TARGET LADY.

    • Ben

Kristin Wiig and Aunt Linda, and anything with Gilda Radner.

      • Just Sayin

        NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Kristen

Yes Target Lady!!! Everytime she takes off from the register to shop for herself I about die because that happened to me once with a craft store cashier and I was standing there like WTF?

    • KJN

I’ve actually said “Approved!” a couple of times after swiping my card at Target, just to horrify my daughter.

      • Kaitlyn

I use to work at Target during High School (quit now that I’m at university). Whenever someone paid with their card and it came up approved, I’d literally have to bite my tongue in order to stop myself. The only time I’d do it was when my friends came up to my register. I even did the whole arms up in the air motion.

      • KJN

        Me too!

    • Lilac

Agree! The episode with JT and the his chapped lips is my favorite. Having worked at Target for many years I can understand why Target Lady gets so excited and has to rush off from her register. Target has some cute stuff!

  • LOL

I’ll say…SNL has never been funny.

    • KC

Agreed! SNL should’ve bowed out about 15 years ago.

    • @ LOL

A show that’s been on the air somewhere around 35 years “has never been funny” in your estimation? You are simply a moron.

  • LaPaz

What? No Belushi Samurai? No Monty Python?

    • Brian L

Belushi Samurai, Belushi Cheeseburger, Gumby, Mr Robinsons Neighborhood, Mr Bill, Celebrity Jeopardy, The Coneheads, Liquorville, Land Shark, Barry Gibb Show, Andy Samberg’s digital shorts . . . . . . .

Not anything with Kristin Wig in it

    • Brian L

Forgot Tina Fey as Sara Palin and Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton

    • Shea

Why in the world would Monty Python be included in a group of SNL sketches?

    • daphne

TOTALLY! Roseanne Rosannadanna, Coneheads, Cheeseburger, Samurai, Emily LItella, Wild & Crazy Guys, It was all down after there!

  • Isabella

    Celebrity Jeopardy is the best.

    • Kristi

I’ll second that – I always loved Celebrity Jeopardy.

      • Lisa London

        Agreed, Celeb Jeopardy was always my favourite. “i’ll take The Rapists…”;

      • @Lisa London

That’s probably one of my favorite lines ever.

      • daisy

thirded. I still cannot even read that line without busting up.

      • Janet

Ditto that! I always laugh when I hear/read that line!

    • Dee

      The (Pen is) Mightier!
      Celebrity Jeopardy is the best!

      • Lilac

I almost peed my pants at the “Pen is mightier.”. It makes me giggle just thinking about it. Also–Tom Hanks in the drycleaning bag– “But I want a pickle.” Classic.

    • hotbutnotbothered

I’ll take “the penis mightier” for 500, Alex.

    • hotbutnotbothered

I’ll take “JAP ANUS RELATIONS” for 200, Alex.

    • Kat

Celebrity Jeopardy takes the cake for me because it was consistently funny. You’d be hard pressed to find a Celebrity Jeopardy sketch that was a total dud. Though that just may be my opinion.

    • LR

hands down, celebrity jeopardy is the best and most consistently funny sketch

  • SaraS

There are some great ones there, but Celeb Jeopardy provides the most consistent, unpredictable laughs.
p.s. Not even a mention of the cheerleaders?

    • Amanda

I agree, I kept expecting to see the cheerleaders. Not enough Will Ferrell on this list!

      • Kathy

Any list WITHOUT Will Ferrell is a good list…that man is NOT funny!

      • LOL

        He’s funnier than your post.

      • @ LOL

But I thought you said nothing on SNL has ever been funny. I love when stupid people bust themselves.

      • Tia

I agree! My favorite will always be ‘Dog Show’!

  • brandon

    no rosanna rosanna dana? wow.

    • Big Dave

Well, she wasn’t a sketch. She was just a commentator on Weekend Update. But she was hilarious.

      • Emily

        If it’s not one thing it’s another…”

      • hotbutnotbothered

Like my great aunt Roseanneadannabanana says: “It’s always something.”

      • paula

        Exactly, Big Dave.

  • Andrea

I always love when JT comes back for the Barry Gibb show. Writing-wise, probably not the best, but it’s probably not the thing to focus on during the sketch.

And I always loved Celebrity Jeopardy!

  • Jon

    Deep Thoughts with Jack Handey

    • jason

Yes! Funniest thing SNL ever did.

      • Just Sayin

        STEFON!!!!!!!!!

  • no cars go

how the hell are sully and denise not on here??? NOMAHHHHH!

    • Trixie

Hahah.. I was just thinking about them the other day. I liked those sketches.

    • Cate

      Totally agree!

    • Lynnsey

That’s exactly what I was thinking!

  • Caiti

Yeah, I don’t think you can beat Celebrity Jeopardy.

  • MiaRW

    What about the cheerleaders?

    • B more Girl

OMG I always post the Cheerleaders with Will and Cheri Oteri is my fave skit but from the list above Eddie Murphy ghettotizing the neighborhood was funny!!! Justin Timberlake and Lady GaGa recently had me rolling in the floor. Justin (and Fallon) is ALWAYS funny on SNL. I like when the stars participate in the skits. Whitney, Rosie, Penny Marshall were so funny in church choir skit.

    • Wendela

      YES! GO SPARTANS!

    • Aprilcot26

I’ll always have a soft spot for the Spartan cheerleaders. When I first started watching SNL in 9th grade they were by far my favorite thing. I still have a ‘Spartan Spirit’ tshirt. :)

  • TVAddict

I’m quite stunned that Matt Foley isn’t in the lead.

    • Ruby

Ditto. I certainly voted for it!

  • Carrie

Definitely NOT The Barry Gibb Talk Show. Those sketches are godawful.

  • Spike L.

Matt Foley or Mr. Robinsons neighborhood. How can you not laugh at Farley’s absurdity or Murphy’s edginess.

    • Ben

      Easily.
