Melissa McCarthy and Andy Samberg pump the jam in 'SNL' promos

You stole my thought, Andy Samberg — Melissa McCarthy is actually my jam. Though to be fair, it’s beginning to look like she’s everybody’s jam. Heck, she’s even the Emmy voters’ jam! This is why, much like Samberg, we’re positively pumped to see her reunite with her Bridesmaids co-star Kristen Wiig when she tackles her first Saturday Night Live hosting gig this weekend.

If you just can’t wait until Saturday, there’s always McCarthy and Samberg’s hilarious promo video. Watch as they awkwardly  deftly channel their inner Technotronic, exchange precious gifts, and discuss the infamous scene that helped propel McCarthy to big-screen fame. “You took a s— in the sink,” Samberg explains. (As if we could forget.) Enjoy the video below!

Will you tune in Saturday night? Is anyone else praying for the long-awaited return of Stefon? Do you think Melissa McCarthy would like a human suitcase?

The actual episode will hopefully be a whole lot funnier than these promos…

  • Garfield

SNL stopped being funny after the Phil Hartmann era ended.

  • Garfield

Garfield the cat finds her fat disgusting

    WAR diet and exercise

    unWAR crisco

  • Not Amused

That’s the best you can do… call her fat? What are you five? Spare the time away from your busy and influential existence, and get some balls. Idiot.

  • Rolo Tomasi

Commercials first before the main commericial….anyway….I’m I the only one that doesn’t like Stefon? I don’t that character is funny at all

    • Stefon

“If you’re looking to settle down with an old lady, or a Russian with a pre-paid cell phone…then look no further than…”

    • Sincy

I agree — Stefon is just annoying.

    • Squishmar

He’s funny but it’s so one-note and I really think half of the funniness comes from Bill Hader *always* cracking up. I think it’s a character that’s definitely better in small doses and not too often.

I love Melissa McCarthy. I think she’s a beautiful lady, inside and out, and she’s funny, too. Why is it OK for a male comedian/actor to be heavy but not a female?

    • Andy

Who said it’s OK for a male comedian/actor to be heavy? I prefer hot male actors to overweight ones, and I bet most people feel the same way. Look at Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Turtle from Entourage…much hotter now that they’ve lost weight.

      • Clarissa

Jonah HIll looks extremely odd now that he’s thinner and Seth Rogan still looks exactly the same.

  • Andy

I think she’s officially crossed over into the “overexposed” category…

  • Andrea

OMFG SHE’S FAT?!??! I never noticed. I’m sure she hasn’t either. Fat people shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce, or be on TV, or be funny. Or be human beings. You know who else shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce? Stupid, ignorant, hurtful people. One day you may gain weight and you’ll find it pretty hurtful when people see you differently because of how you look. Yes it is a medical condition and one that I’m sure she is well aware of. It doesn’t mean that you have to stop living your life because some stupid, horrible person on a website doesn’t find you attractive. Go play in traffic.

  • Kim

@Hmmmmmmmmmm YOU are the disgusting one. People like you make me sick. And, just because I already know what you’ll think, no, I am not fat, nor have I ever been. But, I’ll tell you right now, I’d rather be around a hundred Melissa McCarthy’s that were 500 pounds each over one of you any day! What a gross way of thinking. Yuck.

  • MJ

Frankly, I’m disappointed that she’s gotten so much “recognition” for her work in 2 fairly low-brow vehicles when she got virtually no love for her role in Gimore Girls. That was a truly funny and thoughtful role that deserved much more recognition than this dreck.

    • Jen

I like to think of her Emmy as a win for being her. I love her on Gilmore Girls and Samantha Who. She makes everything she’s in funnier. I don’t love Mike & Molly, but I’m happy she’s getting recognition.

    • Jenny

No one got any recognition for Gilmore Girls, sadly.

  • JB

Watch Gilmore girls or Samantha Who? to find out what kind of awesome she really is!

  • hamster

I love Gilmore Girls, and Melissa McCarthy as Sookie is one of the reasons why the show is so good. FYI, Sookie’s weight is NEVER mentioned or dealt with as a plot point. It never stood in the way of her having one of the most stable and charming romantic and (later) marital relationships on the show.. If only “slender” people were allowed to be romantic in real life, it would be a most uninteresting world.

    • Aurora

Agreed! And I dare anyone to disagree with me when I say that she could not have been more beautiful than in the Gilmore Girls episode when Sookie was all dolled up for her first date with Jackson. Melissa McCarthy was one of the best parts of that show, and even though I don’t watch Mike & Molly and haven’t seen Bridesmaids, I’m so happy that she’s getting the recognition she’s deserved for the last decade.
