With Anne Hathaway busy promoting her new film One Day, which hits theaters Aug. 19, look for her to be talking about… her Oscars gig and The Dark Knight Rises! About the former, Hathaway tells CNN she knows her limitations, and they’ll probably keep her from ever hosting the Oscars again. “Not that it wasn’t fun, I had a great time and it was an honor and it was lovely,” she says. “But, it’s something that…requires a skill set…I mean, I think the first time I didn’t put any pressure on myself to knock it out of the park with, you know, my hosting skills because how would I have any? I’ve never hosted anything.” As she reasons, “If I were to do it again there’s a lot of things that you have to put in place in order to deliver a really, really great, well crafted show that requires a lot of time and talent that I’m not entirely sure that I have.”
That is a very self-aware statement, as is her response to MTV News when asked how she feels about fans’ mixed reactions to her Catwoman costume. “What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo — I’m gonna start with the negative — you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do,” she says. “And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”

So that’s the actual Catwoman suit? I was hoping that it was something that she would wear during the transition from Selina to Catwoman.
Apparently it’s not.
I don’t mind the suit, what bugs me the most is the glasses.
It sounds like the suit might transform as she does, if that makes any sense. At least, that’s what I get from “you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do.”

I think that by boycott, this fan-boy is referring to the sleeping apparatus (with Batman bedsheets, no less) that he will be sleeping on outside the theatre 10 days before The Dark Knight Rises premiere…

It doesn’t seem like she put on weight to play Selina Kyle/Catwoman with an ample cleavage, fuller legs and fuller backside. Perhaps they don’t want her to look like the character exactly as she is in the comic books. In the comic books, Selina has huge boobs with nice, womanly curves.
I completely agree! I think she even lost weight and that decimated whatever curves she did have…I saw a picture of her at an event and she looks concave! I was like, where are the boobs girlfriend? Catwoman is supposed to be sexy, not a 12 year old boy.
In comic books, every woman is drawn like Coco (Ice T’s wife). Anne could gain 20 lbs and she would never look like that. REAL WOMEN don’t look like comic book characters without implants and surgeries.
Thank you, Melissa. I don’t know how anyone could seriously take issue with a real human being not looking like the teenage fantasies they are drawn as in comic books.
Wohoo!! Let me tell you, this will be an Anne Hathaway you’ve never seen, and she’s going to knock everyone’s socks off in The Dark Knight Rises! You are going to be so killed by her performance. I can’t tell you how good she is as a strong, empowered, sexy Catwoman. Oh, she is so good in this. It’s unbelievable the performance she gives. It’s amazing. Hahah.. freakin’ fantastic, can’t wait! Man! I feel like a woman!

Doubt it, all of Nolan films have crappy female charachters, so i won’t be surprised if Catwoman is a typical boring Nolan female character.

Nolan should have just brought Michelle Pfeiffer back. Sexier, better actress, more tolerable as a person in general.

Hathaway is a sweetheart. I feel bad about the Oscars bomb. She tried her best.
Well, to be fair, she was hampered in her effort by a little someone named JAMES FRANCO.
Michelle’s too old. I really wanted Christina Ricci for the role. Yeah, she’s short, but she’s curvy, has a cat-like face (imo), and has this really unusual sexiness to her. Although I’m sure Anne will be fine.
Ricci isn’t curvy anymore. She had her chest surgically reduced.
Michelle Pfeiffer sexy? Maybe 20 years ago when she still had her real face. She’s too botox and collagen filled now.
It’s refreshing to see a star of her magnitude admit that she’s not perfect and has limitations as a performer.

Classy statements. Don’t see why she’s ragged on repeatedly about her Oscar gig. Almost all Oscar telecasts stink. The worst ever was the “American Beauty” year. The best ever was year of “Titanic”- Billy Crystal hosting, opening gag film montage, fabulous Oscar famiy album segment (around 100 past acting Oscar recipients together at once on stage! Wow!)
Bug eyes will always be remembered every year the oscars roll around of her Insanely over the top high school cheerleader performance “hosting” the Oscars.
Anne Hathaway needs to stop being hard on herself. Anyone with half a brain that saw the Oscars, would never place most of the blame on Hathaway. She did eveything within her power to save that Oscar fiasco. No Oscar host could have saved that Oscar telecast- beyond horrible writing, bad production, mediocre directing, and a frightened , self-indulgent and bratty co-host ( who still refuses to take responsibility for his unprofessional behavior at the Oscars . ) that barely had a pulse. Anne actually left the Oscars unscathed- not her former Oscar co-host.
Just keep acting on the screen and stay away from hosting duties Anne.
I don’t blame Anne for the horrid Oscars. She was actually the better of the two. I’m not so forgiving of that Catwoman outfit though. Not her fault really, as she’s not the costume designer. But if that’s the best they got, then I worry.
You know what, back off Anne Hathaway. She is a bright, funny, talented and refreshingly self-aware actress. The hosts were one of the few things I enjoyed in an otherwise mind-numbingly dull Oscar show. That’s not Hathaway (or Franco’s) fault. I’m happy to see her cast against type as Catwoman. Love you, Anne!
I thing Anne Hathaway will do well as Catwoman or at least I will wait to judge until I have seen the movie…
My choise for Catwoman: Summer Glau! She has the cat like grace and can kick ass. Of course I would choose her for most roles, ti-hi.

The only problem I have with the suit is that it doen’t look like Catwoman. It looks more like an updated version of Emma Peel. That’s it! Anne is actually auditioning for the inevitable Avengers sequel likely in 2014. (It’s a different Avengers, Anne.)
I love these comments about the suit – how can you tell what it really looks like? All you see is the bike!
By the time this movie comes out we will already know everything about this movie, because of movie leaks , sneak peeks and behind the scenes.
