Nothing can beat Scheddy Balls. It is one of a kind that made every single person on this planet laugh.
best ever.
I love the skit where he plays a soap-opera doctor who mispronounces all of the body parts and medical terms! The way he butchers “esophagus” and “anal canal” are priceless.
@nerd – YES!! This is my all-time favorite, too. My sister and I still quote “anal canal” to each other, and that episode must have been 15 years ago. Love it!
My sister and I do too. But he doesn’t mispronounce them. That’s just how they learn to discuss canker at Yah-lie.
I was about to post this same one. I am giggling now just thinking about it.
I like this silly skit in the underrated, absurdist-filled ’95 season where he plays a well-meaning politician running for office who keeps accidentally making blunders like…wiping his ass with the American flag.
Canteen boy
His DeNiro impressions were dead-on in ‘The Joe Pesci Show’ skits on SNL. He nailed DeNiro’s mannerisms and facial expressions.
OMG I had forgotten about those! Absolutely great !!!!
His Tony Bennett impression is pretty good
Gotta go with Canteen Boy and the Scoutmaster.
Alec Baldwin’s Charles Nelson Reilly is nothing short of scrumtrulescent.
I vote for Greenhilly and the skit where Alec plays a cowboy at a diner – I think those may have been on during the same episode.
His Tony Bennette bit where he interviewed Phoney Bennette, the Tony Bennette impersonator, was hilarious
scweddy balls was amazing. another amazing host who should have been a regular at SNL is christopher walken. “champag-na” in the continental.
3. Swim Coach Awards (from this past season):
“. . . and the award for ‘Most Improved’ goes to . . . my hatred for all yous.”
2. Tourist on Japanese Game Show (circa early 90s):
He can’t understand a word they’re saying, and the look on his face when he finds out a wrong answer gets your finger chopped of . . . priceless!
1. Glengary Glen-Christmas:
If you’ve seen the the scene that was being spoofed, the line “Cocoa is for cobblers ONLY!” splits your side every time. (“Second prize is a box of candy canes. Third prize is . . . you fired!”) The fact that he accidentally said “closing” instead of “cobbling” was the icing on the cake.
It’s got to be “The Mimic” from the 80s where he plays a detective who thinks he can mimic anyone’s voice. Yet he can’t. He’s awful. I remember it so well. “This is Mrs. Devaraux!” However, Paul McCartney played the butler and he did do a good impression of him!
