What’s next for the ‘Harry Potter’ cast?

typecasting, harry potter conventions, that’s about it.

Yeah because dans role in how to succeed and equisetum are just like potter. And Emma’s roles in perks and my week with Marilyn are just like Hermione. Major eyeroll coming your way.

Equus is what I meant. Damn iPhone.

Those movies have not even come out. Maybe she proves herself there. Not yet.

I think they’ve all already proven themselves to be talented young actors in the last 4 Potter films.
That’s not necessary. My whole point was clearly typecasting is not an issue considering they’re non-Potter roles are very different from Ron, Harry, and Hermione.
Sam in Perks of a Being a Wallflower is a chainsmoking, drama/rocker chic love interest and her role in MWWM is a flirtatious, silly wardrobe girl.

Daniel can do no wrong he is so talented , can´t wait to see him in other projects.

I clicked on the link about Matt Lewis. Was laughing so hard when Neville of the first few movies was called “the second coming of Peter from the Cosby Show.” Don’t worry, Matt, you are very hot now.

It was really hilarious that link with WILF (wizard I like to f*ck) hahahah, well Matt is the surprise of this movie and the entire franchise

Daniel Radcliff obvisiously proved himself as an actor althought Emma & Rupert were great in the films ,No one compares to the preformance from Daniel . I think he’s done the prefect thing off the back of Harry Potter and gone to threatre to prove he is this incredible actor . Hes brilliant and will have a great career .

Emma Watson has more range and depth than Kristin Stewart, yet everyone seems to think Kristin Stewart is some fantabulous actress who can do no wrong. Can someone explain that little paradox to me?

    • Liz Lemon

      No idea.

    • liv

she’s certainly a better actress than Emma.

She’s not great and she’s horrid in the vampire movies. But she has done more than Emma has ever done.

And I like Emma more. But let’s not be fanboys here

      • @liv

Quantity does not equal quality, honey.
Emma may have done fewer projects, but she’s demonstrated that she has range and talent. Plus, considering each Potter film offered a new challenge in terms of what the actors had to do, they’ve all practically played a different character in each film.
If you’re good, you’re good everywhere (in low budget and big budget), and that is not the case when it comes to the twilight girl.
*Still have no idea why the twilight people are even brought up*

I wish the entire cast all the best of luck. I think that among the younger cast, Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton have improved the most (HBP, anyone?). I have enjoyed Rupert Grint’s portrayal of Ron, but I think his character was watered down in the films. As a result, I don’t think his performance was stellar, but he also didn’t have much to work with. And I don’t understand all the hate for Emma Watson. Sure, she was stiff and weak in the first couple films (let’s be honest, they all were). But she was fantastic in both parts of DH. In part 2, the scene on the staircase where Hermione offers to go with Harry–it gets me every time. I love the dynamic between Radcliffe and Watson in showing that boys and girls can have strong and powerful, platonic friendships.

Here’s my thing. I have never thought any of them were bad in any of the films.
Maybe it’s because when I first saw Sorcerer’s Stone, I was 12 and when you’re 12, acting isn’t something you focus on. However, whenever I re-watch them, I still don’t think they’re bad in any of the films. They have their weak moments: Dan’s inability to accurately portray anger in films 1-3, Rupert’s repetitive goofy facial expressions, Emma’s occasional overacting, etc. But for the most part, they’ve all consistently improved every single year and have continued to get better.
That’s what I want in my actors and actresses, ones who commit and are dedicated enough to actually work to improve. Yeah, they’re all awesome in Deathly Hallows, but one thing I love is that in all their interviews, they’ve said that they plan on working harder to get even better. They’re not complacent.
