Rita Wilson named Editor-at-Large of 'Huff/Post 40.' Yes, that Rita Wilson.

Rita Wilson is getting into the website game this August with the launch of  the baby boomer site “Huff/Post 40.” Arianna Huffington announced today that Wilson, a longtime contributor to Harper’s Bazaar, has been named Editor-at-Large and will oversee the vision and direction of the new site. That’s not an honorary title: Wilson named the site, will hire its editor and team, and assign features and videos.

“Issues related to being over forty have always intrigued me,” Wilson says in a press release. “My mom and dad always used to say, ‘life begins at forty.’ The idea that we boomers are somehow supposed to wind things down as we get older has completely escaped me. The Over 40s I have met are some of the most interesting, vibrant, curious, courageous, sexy, energetic people I know. Exploring the minds and hearts of this group of people is exciting. It’s never too late to mix things up, change your life, to get to what you really should be doing — or want to be doing. As Mark Twain said, ‘Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.’ I can’t wait to get started.”

What do you think? She should have no problem getting guest columnists.

She’s perfect for the position! Smart, funny, trendy, but a little bit jealous of the beautiful women who surround her husband. But maybe that will change now that she has a great job too. Definitely will check it out!

    40 does not equal baby-boomer.

She’s just like Kelly Preston: Crappy Actress who only gets work because of who’s she married too.

Rita Wilson was heading in the right direction acting-wise before she met her husband. Would she have ever won an Oscar for her acting skills? No! But she did have a career unlike Kelly Preston, whose career has been built on who she’s married to. Besides, Rita is also a smart, independant woman who brought MBFGW to her husband for them to invest in. Preston is just another brain dead beard schooled in Scientology. I agree that 40 does not make a boomer. They are all 50 and over. But it is 40-PLUS so I guess they’ll include those old fogies too. LOL

What does this have to do with Kelly Preston? -___-

As long as she doesn’t give style advice.

I think it’s terrific that she is willing to tackle a demo that the networks avoid. The vast wealth of the American population is in the pockets of 55+ so for no other reason it makes economic sense. I hope that Ms. Wilson deals with issue that we older demo want to hear such as evolving into a new a faze of ones life and not about hot sexy things to do after 40. We already know what’s hot and sexy, we were 20 once also. I hope she deals with health, which is so important as we age.
I look forward to ‘Huff/post +40′ and hopefully it will be meaningful for everyone over 40.
