Sarah Palin documentary to play in select AMC theaters this summer: Does it have your vote?

The Sarah Palin movie (No, not HBO’s upcoming Game Change … and definitely not this one) is heading to a theater near you. That is, if you live in Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Atlanta, Orange County, Phoenix, Houston, Indianapolis, or Kansas City. (No New York City yet. But she seemed to like our pizza so much!)

Starting July 15, AMC Theaters will begin screening The Undefeated, a documentary about the former Alaskan governor-turned-VP candidate-turned celebrity/Fox News pundit/reality star/author/rumored 2012 Presidential candidate. The film, which has been independently financed by Victory Film Group and is written and directed by Stephen K. Bannon (who also made Generation Zero, a movie about the Tea Party movement, as well as In The Face of Evil: Reagan’s War In Word and Deed and Battle For America), will follow Palin’s meteoric rise to political fame. The doc will also feature commentary from her former staff, as well conservative supporters and bloggers, like Andrew Breitbart. While Palin herself does not give an interview in the movie (which also shares the title of a 1969 John Wayne Western), she still reportedly serves as a narrator in several scenes.

Though the movie is only slated to play in ten locations thus far, the film’s website is offering those who want to see it a chance to vote on which other cities it should be released. A shrewd way to build interest? Perhaps. But, hey, it worked for Paranormal Activity didn’t it? (Which film scares you more, well, that’s up for debate.)

So, could this movie turn out to be the conservative’s version of Fahrenheit 9/11? Palin’s likely not hoping so — while a financial and critical success, the left-leaning Fahrenheit didn’t achieve its election goal in 2004. Moreover, would anyone who isn’t already a Palin supporter go see it, let alone be swayed? The teaser trailer, watch below, doesn’t give viewers too much to consider (unless, of course, you’re a big fan of dramatic finger-wagging) and the arguably ironic title alone will earn scads of jokes, puns, and parodies. Still, when it comes to Palin these days, will buzz and unwavering support from her followers override all else?

Would you see the Sarah Palin documentary The Undefeated, PopWatchers? Will you vote to have it play in your town? Or is the multiplex, next to the White House, the last place you would like to see her? Let us know in the comments section below!

No, I’d be laughing so hard, I’d be thrown out of the theater.

    • LOL

      Best comedy in years!

    • Mike

I would be laughing on may way to the theater trying to figure out why I would want see it in the first place!!

  • Strepsi

AMC’s tactic is crystal clear, look at the cites: not cinephile cities, but places like Phoenix and Orange County, pockets of some of the biggest bigots in the U.S.

So you can file this film under “preaching to the choir”. And no, I won’t be giving one thin dime.

    • joblo

Wow. Thats quite the stereotyping there. Who’s the bigot??

  • BillyD

Only way I’d go see a Palin movie is if it were a real-life documentary called The Wingerpede, where Glenn Beck, Palin, and Limbaugh are, uh…joined (a la The Human Centipede). Oh, wait, they already are.

  • Nina

Why is the title of this movie “Undefeated?” She was defeated in a pretty major way…

    • Buffy Freak

      Defeated AND a quitter…

    • Mike

Yes she was. They should change it to “Defeated Big Time”

      • Yo Yo

        Dumb and Dumber.

    • Andre

She likely didn’t understand the meaning of the word and you challenging it is such a “gotcha” way of questioning it. ;)

  • Buffy Freak

I would actually see it if it were playing in a multiplex where I could sneak in after seeing a movie I paid to see. It’s going to be the funniest and scariest movie of the summer!

  • tiebaojin

No way in living Hell would I go to see anything about this idiot! She couldn’t pay ME enough to make me go.

  • headway

Dicszi, strepsi, & Nina ..shouldn’t you 3 be back to work reading through the 28 thousand emails that were released on Sarah Palin ?

    • ks

She’s redacted all the good stuff-looks like a UFO government file.
But, oh yea, I can’t wait for HER, playing the victum card again.

  • Lem

Well, well, well… Another chance for E.W to improve their hitcount with yet another Palin story, and yet, another chance for her haters to pile on with the same old tired bile.

Fahrenheit 9/11 only leaned to the left ?????????? Sure …..

  • Leon

They already have Nailin Palin. Is that the one?

  • Butters

And I thought Transformers 3D was gonna be the worst movie this summer.

  • joan m. slotnick

I would not waste my money on anything Sarah Palin says or does. AMC won’t get my money…..

  • John

Don’t understand why people throw money at this leach…what has she done to make anyone’s life in this country better?…nothing, yet you feel compelled to throw your money at a woman who is laughing all the way to the bank…won’t see a dime of mine..

    • Tom

Why do you people hate this woman so? What has she ever done that has caused you to have this much hate for her?

      • BDR

Thinking Americans don’t hate simple Sarah, but they sure wonder why anyone likes her. I can only think it’s pity for how she has been victimized as she so often tells anyone that will listen to her.

  • Chuck

Of course most idiots of this day and age wouldn’t see this film. They would rather see something like “Hall Pass” which shows a man taking a crap on a golf course and a woman crapping all over the bathroom. Funny stuff!!????? They’ve been properly brainwashed by the networks into believing Palin is a waste of time. Hey, she’s the one who went against her own party in Alaska and succeeded in ridding them of some dishonest users. Get it? Her own party!!!!!!! Hell yes, I’ll go see the film. Bring it on!!!!!

  • will g alvira

I would much rather watch that Daffy Duck movie that’s coming out at about the same time.

    • will g alvira

I am no longer baffled by the hopeless fools who have no clue as to how the very worse of the politicians misuse politics for their own personal greedy, selfish ,and utterly destructive agendas.

  • NativeSonKY

No way I’d ever watch this – I hear enough of her drivel inadvertently on the news. She rapes my earhole every time. And AMC will NEVER get another penny from me or my family. We have choices in which theaters we frequent, and AMC is forever off the list.
