Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson launch tween fashion line: See the clothes

jessica_simpson_clothing_line

Yesterday came news that pop star-turned-billion dollar designer Jessica Simpson and younger sister Ashlee would branch out with a tween collection, and today, we get a sneak peak of the products — faux fur, printed leggings and all — which will be available at 400 retailers, including Macy’s and Lord Taylor, this fall.

Simpson’s designing style has always been trendy without turning customers into crazy-patterns lady. But with this tween line, consisting of sportswear and jeans geared towards girls sized 7 through 16, the line looks more Rachel Zoe than Jessica Simpson, who has already made quite a name — and billion dollar empire — for herself. That credit (or blame?) should probably go to sister Ashlee, who, unlike her big sis, is known for more grungy, vintage-inspired ensembles.

What do you guys think of the looks? Will you be buying the clothes for the little lady in your life?

The clothes don’t look slutty. That’s enough for me to buy them for my (hypothetical) tween daughter. (Though that faux fur thing is really ugly.)

Sure looks like a rip off of Willow’s(?)(Will Smith’s daughter) style. Meh. Can’t stand the Simpson girls, so my opinion is tainted. That said, tweens without the hooker-wear works for me.

      Jealousy will get you nowhere!!

Its stuff young girls will like, but isn’t too revealing or sexy…I could see myself buying the stuff if I had a daughter

I avoid buying anything that has a celebrity brand, so I will not be buying this. A washed up celebrity’s name on something cheapens a purchase for me.

I thought people like Mily Cyrus and Justin Bieber were popular with tweens. Wouldn’t slapping their names on a pair of leggings be more appropriate than the Simpson sisters name? Would a tween even know who the Simpson sisters are?

I just wanted to say that I don’t care if Ashlee Simpson-Wentz got caught lip-synching on Saturday Night Live back in 2004 because that happened 16 years ago, and all of those haters out there needs to move on and get on with their lives just like Ashlee did. I also don’t care if her “Bittersweet World” (that was released back in 2008) album only sold 150,000 copies over here in the United States of America and 220,000 copies worldwide, I love her music with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life listening to it because her music has been the best thing that has ever happened to me ever since she came into the music industry back in 2004. I would be lost forever if she ever decides to stop making music because making music is what she lives for. I have all 3 of her previous albums and I can’t wait until she releases her new upcoming album later on this year because I really want to buy it. She said that her new upcoming album will have a “Folk feel” with a mature upbeat sound to it. Ashlee is one of my most favorite female Pop music artists and songwriters in the music industry, and I’m also one of her most biggest fans who was born and raised over here in the United States of America. I will always guard and protect Ashlee’s heart from all of those haters out there who always criticizes her because I truly believe that it is my destiny to do so. As far as her being a fashion designer is concerned, I really hope and pray that she will also design some clothes and accessories for all of her female fans out there, not only for tween girls because I love everything that she wears. Those T-shirts that she designed for “Wet Seal” back in 2008 looks awsome, especially when she is wearing them. I really think that Ashlee looks a lot more prettier than her sister, Jessica and I also think that she looks a lot more prettier than my wife, Ashley even if she did have plastic surgery on her nose. She is also a wonderful actress who looks good in any hair color, and that is why I fell in love with her. End of story.

I love what little I’ve seen. I have a 10 year old niece and this is just her style. She’s pretty picky and likes things that are more “grown up” like these. The problem with girls clothes today is that everything is either too young or too old looking. This is classy and a perfect jump to classy adult.
Iused to think Jessica’s shoes were just another tacky celeb line but the more I saw her shoes, and actually wore a pair, the more impressed I became. It’s not just using her name to sell, she’s a real designer and I like it.
FWIW I don’t care for her so I’m not a fan girl tripping all over herself to buy something with her name on it.
