This video compilation of Rob Lowe’s super energetic character Chris Traeger saying “literally” on Parks and Recreation is, well, literally, the best thing to happen on the Internet today. If you’re already going through Parks and Rec withdrawal much like I am (the microchip has been compromised!), then this best-of tribute to Chris — including his unique way of greeting people (point directly at them, repeat their full name) — ought to perk you up faster than a trip to Grain N’ Simple.
Some of Traeger’s “literal” (sometimes pronounced “litch-rully”) musings:
“Pawnee is literally the greatest town in the country.”
“I can literally see my face in my shoes.” (After receiving a top-notch shoe shine from Andy Dwyer)
“That literally was the most moving thing I’ve ever heard.” (After Leslie Knope’s stirring pitch for the Harvest Festival)
Despite your unfair rules about dating in the work place, we miss you Chris Traeger. Literally.

PnR is the funniest show on TV, literally!
Parks and Rec is my favorite comedy on TV, but I must say the “LITCH-RULLY” thing hs gotten old for me.
(Dramatic tone of voice)
HOW DARE YOU!
(Slaps you in the face)
<3 Janet Snakehole.
How am I going to make it through the summer with no Parks and Rec?
It is LITCH-RULLY on Netflix.
I like P&R, but what is this weekly obsession EW has with trying to hype this show? It’s like someone at EW is personally insulted because the ratings are not very good.
Shouldn’t you be too? More people need to watch this show!
It’s the same fascination that have with anything Pirat-y, Harry Potter-y or Vampir-y.
Disagree. Parks and Rec is under appreciated comedic brilliance in television. Your examples are over-commercialized, over-hyped movies that don’t need the extra exposure but get it, because it sells magazines/ad space. Not the same.
@Karate Pants: could not agree more with what you just said. also, i would add glee the other list.
@mallory I totally agree. Parks and Rec is not only one of the best comedies on network TV, it’s one of the best shows.
It is insulting that more people don’t watch.
This is correct.
Loved his dancing at Andy and April’s wedding!
That part had me crying!
Cute clip! It was litch-rully the best clip at lunch today!
Why was the text backwards?
I was so sad there was no recap of P&R for the finale. Ron Swanson with no eyebrows was LITERALLY the funniest sight gag I’ve seen on TV.
Yes, lack of recap was LITerally the second most disappointing thing EW has done all year (the crappy Governator cover with Liz Taylor on the back would be #1, of course).
Yea! What’s up with that EW?!?!
i was wondering the same thing? why is it not one of the main shows they review, like the office? i know it’s been said before, but they recap waaay too much of the ridiculous reality shows and not enough scripted.
Yeah, but don’t worry people, there are regular recaps of the Real Housewives of New York City and America’s Next Top Model.
*ROLLS EYES*
Why is it backwards?
Why were all the shots backwards?
A sad, pathetic attempt to hide Rob Lowe’s dyslexia. He literally writes backward.
Apperantly its backwards to pass on some copyright enfringment laws or something.
Did enjoy watching Chris Traeger write backwards though. I mean, of course he can…he’s a machine!
STOP.POOPING.
LITerally the funniest show on tv…come back soon Parks & Rec!!!
Agreed! I’ve rewatched that episode at least a dozen times, and I still burst out in laughter when he says it.
Did I miss…Stop Pooping! Because that is literally, the BEST Chris moment of the series.
Agreed!
Favorite Chris moment: “STOP. POOPING.”
That is LITERALLY one of the top five moments of Rob Lowe’s career.
I love the scene at Andy and April’s wedding when he is talking to the goth guy and his cheerfulness freaks out the goth.
Chris Traeger is LITERALLY hilarious!
