Marg Helgenberger calls Justin Bieber 'kind of a brat'

Justin Bieber gilded his resume this year with a why-the-heck-not guest arc on CSI, which culminated in a bloody bullet ballet that was like Bonnie & Clyde except with better hair. At least one CSI cast member wasn’t too impressed by the tweenybopping idol, though; when Marg Helgenberger was speaking to French radio last week, she said, “I shouldn’t be saying this, but he was kind of a brat.” Wearing an impish grin that positively screamed I would never say this on American radio, Helgenberger noted that the star was perfectly nice to her but, “He locked one of the producers in a closet…[and] he put his fist through a cake that was on a craft services table.”

Kids these days, with their closet pranks and pastry-punching! What’s happening to America? Let’s have a serious discussion about it on French radio. UPDATE: Bieber has apparently responded to Helgenger’s comments via his Twitter page, saying “it’s kinda lame when someone you met briefly and never worked with comments on you. I will continue to wish them luck and be kind.” He later added, “I know who i am and sometimes people r just going 2 say what they want. Keep ur head up and be the man ur mama raised. #killemwithkindness,” before ultimately concluding, “dont spread gossip and dont spread rumors about others…im a kid and i know that. #respect.” In conclusion, Hollywood is exactly like fifth grade, except apparently with more cake.

always think before you speak and be nice

    • Jade

why? she’s allowed to speak her mind especially if he did do those things…then he is a brat who isn’t used to hearing the word “no”. someone needs to put this kid in his place

      • Wow

He sounds like a teenage boy to me.

      • kavi

teenage boy or not, he needs to learn some manners and how to be respectful, especially on a set where he’s just a guest star

      • whatevs

Don’t you think people are mean enough to him? I’m not talking about this situation. But people booing him and throwing eggs at him. People don’t even do that to Kim or Paris.

      • Cygnus

Most teenaged boys are show-off tools. Since parents and teachers can hardly lay a hand and discipline a child any longer, the kids just turn into total idiots and asses. We’re getting new generations where 20-somethings are just as bad as the teens, when Jackass and Punkd are acceptable.

      • Alyssa

WHOA! There are a lot of nimrods out there in the teenage world, but you don’t put them all in the same boat. Same with 20-somethings, I am 22 yrs. old, and exception for my age because I hate people my age, I like people older. Yes alot of teenagers and 20-23 yr olds are hooligans but the ones that aren’t- go unsung. And Your right teachers dont have any power any more, however PARENTS have all the power. Be a parent and a friend not just a best friend to your teen and say ” okay heres a 50, have fun”. Know what they are doing and if they do something wrong, ground them or take something away.

I have heard of Bieber being a “brat” before and a male ” diva”.

Whatevs – Please return to school, for the love of god!

      • CJ

        @Wow
        strange… *I* don’t remember acting like that when I was a teenage boy…

      • Shell

Agree with @Jade. If he did those things, then it is bratty (if fairly harmless) behavior and he should own it. If Marg had put her fist through a cake, THEN Bieber could call her out for being disrespectful. No? She didn’t? Besides, being called “bratty” isn’t so bad – kid needs a thicker skin.

      • whatevs

Beiber is acting like a tool, no one thinks that behavior is funny or cool, all of those people working for/with him probably think he is a prick but they need the work – the second he becomes washed up, the will gladly drop him like a bad potato

      • Carla

CJ, of COURSE you didn’t act that way as a teenaged boy. YOUR parents had the option of beating your behind!!

      • Josh

Or his parents just raised him right….

      • vin

Glad to see that not evertyone loves that no-talent hack. Can’t wait for his popularity to end.

      • Jack

You need to check out the Jenna Marbles video on youtube of her doing an impression of this kid. It’s hilariously funny.

    • Jess

why shouldn’t she be able to say what she thinks? perhaps you should be giving similar advice to Bieber in terms of ‘always think before you act and be nice.’

    • Jean Guy Levesque

I hate Bieber’s stupid hair. Vive la Quebec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Alice

always think before you type and get real.

  • T.J.

Cue the Bieber fans rioting and pillaging Marg Helgenberger’s house.

    • the other Anne

Only if their mamas drive them.

  • Srin

Does this mean all of those Bieber groupies will be sending Helgenberger death threats?

    • Shunda

      um i think so lol

    • Josh

I’m trying to decide whose parents are worse….Bieber’s for letting him get away with the things Marg said he did(and probably much more, thereby enabling his bratty behavior) or the parents who let their daughter become so obsessed with a teen star who won’t be around in five years(or at least who they won’t care about in five) that they make death threats….

      • Josh’s Momma

I blame Josh’s mom for raising someone who cares SOOOOO much about tabloid trash. Get a job!

    • Cat

      Yup

  • Chris

She better stay in France. Otherwise she’ll get sacrificed by the Bieber Cult, Wicker Man style.

    • jared

      LOL!

  • whatevs

Renee Olstead is the musical talent kids should be listening to

  • Muireann

    You go Marg!

    • Valley Girl

Exactly! Bieber sounds so unprofessional. There are many child/teen stars that act more mature and respectful.

  • Chucklehead

Nothing that a good beatdown wouldn’t cure.

  • Jamie

I like Justin Bieber. He seems nice. And I find it rather amusing that he locked the producers in a closet xD I think Marg meant “brat” in a joking manner not a criticising manner

On a side note: JB needs some acting lessons (and no jokes on him needing singing lessons, he can sing, no doubt about it)

  • bruno

why is she speaking to french people?

    • davey

There’s a big world out there that includes more countries than just the US. Get a map out and check it out sometime!

      • greg

Thank you, Captain Obvious. However, France has quite a large population of pretentious d-bags. I assume, davey, that you are part Frog?

      • Kat

*eyeroll* Let’s not devolve into stereotypes. 100% of the French people I know have been perfectly nice, unpretentious, warm, and in possession of a good sense of humor. (Granted, I have only really known one French person, but from what I know of his family, they all seem very nice as well! So there’s at least 5 French folks who are perfectly normal and nice.)
As for davey’s comment, I think bruno was just curious what she was doing there because maybe he didn’t know CSI aired worldwide and that she would be a sought-after celebrity there just as in the US. I didn’t think it was a “who cares about French people?” type of comment. It could have just been genuinely curious, like “What’s she promoting in France?”

      • Derrrr

You must have failed statistics. 100% of the people named Kat I have ever interacted with are retards. Granted, I have only ever seen one or two people ever named Kat.

    • Stormy

      Why would anyone?

    • Andy F.

The show she’s starred on for the last decade is hugely popular worldwide (dubbed, mostly, but MH is still the recognizable face of a global franchise).

  • Rob

You mean a teenage boy living the high life as a star acts bratty? Don’t believe it. We have history on our side to show this never happens in Hollywood. Never.

  • Color Me Impressed

This doesn’t surprise me. Biebs thinks hes so d*mn special just because all his yes-men and insufferable fans constantly tell him how special he is. It was only a matter of time before his ego got the best of him and he started acting like a self-entitled little snot.

    • Mikey M

Remember Scott Baio? David Cassidy? Rick Springfield? The DeFranco’s? N’Sync? Backstreet Boys? Teen Idols have been around forever. Why should this boy be any different? He will be doing reunion tours in ten years trying to get people to remember who he is. Marg is an award winning actress who has worked in TV and Movies for over 30 years and she has a lot more talent then they let her show on CSI.

      • Blonde Ambition

You forgot Andy Gibb & Leif Garrett. They weren’t prepared for when they hit the skids. BTW: Good on Marg for not kissing up to this annoying kid.

  • biebs fan

i’m sure the biebs really gives a crap what this washed up, too-old-to-even-be-a-cougar thinks of him.

    • lisa

i’m sure he doesn’t give a crap about her. In fact, I’m sure he doesn’t give a crap about anyone except for himself.

    • Karate Pants

He didn’t once say that she was lying. He didn’t refute her claims. You sure you want to stand by a kid and locks a producer in a closet and punches cakes?

      • Karate Duh

Karate Pants, your English is broken. Please fix it.

    • Cat

He cared enough to tweet about it.

  • Le Japanese HIROSHI

IMO, apparently Marg was joking here. And I’m quite sure Bieber himself knew it if he saw this.

    *

Side note: Love Marg in CSI. The show wouldn’t be the same without her.

  • scott

Marg- don’t sweat this kid’s behavior. He’s 5 years away from VH1’s “where are they now” tv show about various entertaines rise to the top and fall from grace. Unless he’s a Madonna, it’s hard for a 20 something year singer to juice the tween crowd…he’ll need a reinvention about 40 times in his career..and even the best cases turn into Michael Jacksons at some point. Keep being that hot actress and chuckle knowing a brat never changes their strips…or hair doo

    • Yay

Justin Bieber was Michael Jackson’s ultimate goal.

  • Christopher

    LOL Loved Christopher Gorham’s tweet.
