'Britain's Got Talent' contestant Edward Reid is our Totally Fabulous Easter Bunny of the Day

Now that’s what I call song rearrangement!

Edward Reid, a 35-year-old drama teacher from Glasgow, sang an unexpectedly gorgeous kid-friendly medley — including “Old MacDonald,” “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star,” and “Humpty Dumpty” — for his Britain’s Got Talent audition Saturday.

“I can definitely see you getting booked for Elton John’s child’s first birthday party,” said judge Michael McIntyre. “Thank God for you!” said honorary British person David Hasselhoff.

If you’re happy and you know it but feel like crying a little (while grinning!), go watch it on YouTube because BGT has disabled embedding on other sites.

  • Sina

That finger wave he did during Twinkle Twinkle really brought it home! The best thing about this clip…..He can actually sing!

I love the originality, it’s perfect. The diva hand movements really worked.

Does anyone know the song that’s playing in the background at the beginning of this video of his audition? I KNOW I’ve heard it before in several movies/trailers but I don’t know the name of it or the composer. Please help! =)

    • Julian

It’s “Married Life” from the UP Soundtrack composed by Michael Giacchino.

Its the song they used for the sad montage at the start of the movie :(

      • Julian

And on a random note, the guy’s nursery rhymes are sung to the tune of Snow Patrol’s “Run”.

      • Garrett

        You’re right! Thank you!

    • kate

Its ‘Run’ by Snow Patrol, made bigger by Leona Lewis covering it!

      • Garrett

Thanks, Kate! But I meant the song that’s playing in the background during the interview portion of the video.

    • Sarah

pretty sure its the score from UP

  • Tessa

Very fun…and he can sing……glad he made it through!!!!

  • googly eyes

The song is actually the Leona Lewis version of Snow Patrol’s ‘Run’.

As much as I enjoyed his performance, he has no genuine chance of winning. His singing is adequate, and without the element of surprise the next time he performs, he loses that edge and is just like any other singer. His entertainment value is below that of Prince Poppycock’s for sure.
