Do you give a chuck about Chuck‘s renewal chances? Well, at least one — very vocal — group of people does.
This week marked the beginning of a Twitter campaign spearheaded by fan site We Give a Chuck that aimed to let the show’s advertisers know, well, that they exist. Using the hashtag #NotaNielsenFamily, the fandom banded together in hopes of letting Chuck‘s many advertisers that the oft-criticized Nielsen ratings system doesn’t speak to what they claim the true numbers the show is really pulling in.
On Monday — and for the next few weeks, apparently — the group sent Tweets to the advertisers during the show in hopes of getting their attention. (Example: “@Tide just saw your ad on @NBC’s #Chuck. Thx! You support Chuck, I’ll support you PS-I use the to-go stick all the time! #NotANielsenFamily”) And oddly enough, they worked. Diet Pepsi’s Twitter account responded to the outpour that evening, saying “Wow! #chuck fans are awesome! Thanks for all the support!!!! #notanielsenfamily.“
In their bubble show analysis, EW’s Lynette Rice and James Hibberd said the show (which averages 5.9 million viewers) had one major strength: “[It's] perhaps NBC’s only drama that can blow up Twitter.” And it looks like the fandom is going to do exactly that to accomplish their mission, which they tend to take as seriously as Chuck takes his.

You’re kidding, right? Supernatural isn’t even still meant to be on right now! Eric Kripke only planned it for five seasons! Now it’s in season 6! I love it but Chuck is just a much better show! Plus, they are on different nights! Why choose one? Watch both Chuck and Supernatural! Why not? Chuck is just a phenomenal show and I really hope that it gets renewed. The Nielsen numbers are flawed- many more people watch Chuck than the numbers let on! Please save this show, because we do give a chuck.

I love Supernatural too, but not exactly related to the show at hand… I adore Chuck and am excited to participate in a renewal campaign (again)! Watch both shows!
Supernatural is NOT better than Chuck and Chuck is NOT better than Supernatural. They are both great shows, but this is not the place to say anything at all about Supernatural. I’d also like to add that:

Supernatural is better than Chuck. However, I enjoy watching Chuck, but Supernatural is pure drama, action, horror, and comedy all in one.

Not much of a reason to not watch the show. Yes many of its fans are d-bags. But the majority are not. Every show has its fare share of d-bag fans – Chuck included.

Who cares some people like Supernatural some like Chuck posting some stupid comments doesn’t prove one show is better than the other it just proves you have nothing better to talk about.

That’s mean, dude. They’re not even rival shows.. And even so, you can be a fan of both. I love Chuck AND Supernatural. I think they’re both awesome shows that nobody should miss out on.
Come on NBC! Give Chuck a 5th and final season! Give it 18 episodes to have a decent ending to the series!

I think five seasons is enough for this show. It has become a bit repetitive. But I would like to see some kind of conclusion to the general storyline.
I agree with you guys. One final season to give it a proper sendoff. Better to go out on top than get cancelled for sucking.

I was worried I’d be unfollowed by everyone due to my excess Chuck tweets to advertisers, but I ended up with more than I started with. Huh. Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Honda, Super Shuttle, Hyundai, and Stouffers all responded to the tweets. Chuck fans never say die.
I agree! Chuck fans NEVER do say die. Join us all this Monday (yes, we do know it’s a repeat) in watching a great episode of Chuck (Chuck vs The Honeymooners) and blowing up twitter once again, and thanking all of the Chuck sponsors out there! Our voice will be heard.

Not only is CHUCK not on the same night as Supernatural, it is not even on the same network. Saving one has absolutely nothing to do with saving the other. I hope both shows are back next year. GO CHUCK FANS!!!! NBC, keep this show on the air!!!

The show was a blast once. It’s terrible now. Just terrible. Boring, unfunny, lazily-written.

This week’s episode with the wedding planner was actually very good! If you haven’t been watching, you’re missing good stuff. Too bad NBC doesn’t do promos for this show.
