How about Hugh Laurie (House, MD) for Haymitch?
He starts filming the “Mr.Pips” movie next month.
Yeah, his reps have said he isn’t available.
I vote for Jeffrey Dean Morgan or John C. Reilly as Haymitch. I think they’re realistic options (i.e. not RDJ) who could bring Haymitch to life.

I think these are good picks, and hope that the movies work out well. I am much more excited for this series to be in the theatre than any other series being worked on right now. These three books worked so well as a cohesive story, that I am looking forward to what the screenwriters will harvest from the original writing! Since the screenwriter and author seem to get along well and have even gone to press events together, this bodes well for a strong finished product!

I have acted with Dayo (on stage, not on screen) before and I think he’s perfect for Thresh. He’s got a lot of power to him without having to over accentuate that fact. It’s amazing to see.
