Another day, another piece of bad news for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Producers announced today that actress T.V. Carpio, who plays the enigmatic villainess Arachne, was sidelined from the show for two weeks after an onstage injury during the March 16 performance. She has been replaced by America Olivo. Carpio herself was a replacement for the original actress playing Arachne, Natalie Mendoza, who withdrew from the show after sustaining a concussion in November. The nature of Carpio’s injury was not immediately known.

Which is why we should all just see The Book of Mormon.
Which is amazing so yes, go see it!
Let’s say we just scrapped this universally panned Arachne character altogether, yes?
(Or, if you want to go further, just scrap the whole thing.)
As my mother would say ” Does someone have to lose an eye for you to understand this was not a good idea? Huh?” Julie Taymor go to your room and think about what you’ve done.
Julie Taymor was already fired last week.
This is a tragedy waiting to happen. Please pray for all involved with this doomed production so that it closes before someone dies.
funny, you say that it this play almost seems cursed.
I remember her as Prudence in Across the Universe. Such a lovely voice. I hope she recovers quickly!
Wait, was she the cheerleader? That was my favorite singer in the entire movie!
Yes, her version of I want to hold your hand is awesome
I don’t believe in curses, but….
How many more people are going to be injured before they just scrap this whole thing? Are they waiting for someone to die?
Bono can’t be too happy at this point.
This is going to go just like the Jay Leno at 10 pm fiasco. When the plug is finally pulled, everyone is going to say they knew all along it should never have happened.
I liked Carpio in Across the Universe and would love to see her turn up on Glee (she could play Tina’s sister), so I hope she makes a full recovery.
The producers are flogging a dead horse.
Good Lord…just end this mess. Bono and Edge….listen to the people: It’s time to close up shop and come to terms with the fact that this ides was one huge steaming pile of dump.
Seriously, Bono and Edge admit defeat and depart the field. You guys will survive this colossal mistake but, will the cast?.
I’m not sure why people are criticizing Bono and the Edge. The show has serious safety and technical issues, which they have nothing to do with. If you want to criticize the music, that’s different. But calling them out because actors keep getting hurt is stupid.
Seen it, the music is pretty bad.
Yowsa, do a search on the woman who is replacing her.
