Now that the young ‘n’ hot Top 12 season 10 contestants have croaked their way through songs from the years they were born on Wednesday night’s performance show, it’s up to grizzly old America to decide which unlucky soul with a sassy iTunes headshot will shuffle off into obscurity tonight.
Chat here about American Idol‘s one-hour results show, and I’ll update this post with the name of the eliminated contestant as soon as it’s announced. Update: The eliminated contestant is…. Karen Rodriguez, who was joined by Haley Reinhart and Naima Adedapo in the bottom three.

Not true, Casey, Pia, Scotty, or James could win almost any other idol year, cept maybe for Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Jacob’s been too inconsistent, but he’s had some incredible performances as well.
Selena is one of the greatest singers of all time. Sadly she was murdered. Thanks a lot for dressing like her and ruining her song on TV. Karen has a good voice, I’ll give you that. There is only one Queen of Latin music: Selena.

Queen of latin music? Do you mean in terms of sales? That would be Gloria Estefan. In terms of career longevity and importance in the latin music pantheon? That would be the late Celia Cruz. In terms of current or recent relevancy? That would be J-lo. I’m not belittling the late Selena’s talent, but to say she is “the queen of latin music” is not only absurd, but a huge inaccuracy.
I love Selena. Don’t Spanish at all but the music gets me. Her disco smash-up is awesome. I don’t know if she’s the queen, though. I just saw The Mambo Kings and Celia Cruz was in it. I may not know Spanish but I know Celia Cruz.
if selena hadn’t been murdered, she would have done a lot for music. she was extremely talented.
Naima is terrible. I change the channel whenever she is on. Karen was booted perhaps a week or two early.

I wouldn’t call her terrible, but she has the weakest voice and does not belong there. Definitely should have gotten out this week.

I like Stefano, but during the opening song,when he first appeared on the stairs, it occurred to me that he Looks Constipated (while singing).
When is J Lo going to divorce Mark and marry Stefano? The crush she has on him is so obvious its ridiculous.

Oh come on its just flirting. Mark Anthony is the king of it. We’re not talking the harassment that Kara treated Casey with last year. Jennifer is very encouraging to the Latin artists and would like to see more…she was the dissenter in the vote. She would have used the vote to save Karen which really doesn’t make any sense since she has no chance to win.
WIth that said, Karen did a beautiful job with her final solo and I think she will have a career in the Latin market. And good for her.
The true test will be to see how J LO reacts when Stefano is voted off. If she cries hysterically then there is your answer.
Stefano is a younger, cuter version of Marc Anthony. Marc was sort of cute when he was younger, but he has aged horrendously.. I’d love for Stefano to cover one of Marc’s songs to see her reaction.
If i was Stefano i would make a move on J LO. Stefano could replace Mark and be part owner of the Miami Dolphins with J LO.
Ummm…Stefano is not Latin.
Actually, as an Italian-American, he DOES descend from latin stock. Latin does not mean that you are from a Spanish-speaking country, but that you come from a counntry that speaks a language that has its origins in the latin. Spanish, Italian, Portuguese all fit that criteria.

i actually think lauren and pia will both be top 6. paula will fall off eventaully. aside from him, all the other guys will duke it out for other spots. there’s a good chance casey and stefano will be the highest ranked guys, with scotty and james VERY hot on their heels. jacob will not go as far either. he’s fun, but he needs to control his voice.
i’m sorry Brie, but she really isn’t. among the girls, Pia, Haley, Thia, and Lauren all have a better range and control. you can appreciate her style more, but technically she was lacking.

I completely disagree, i think Jlo has done a great job of making it about the contestants this year, way better than the self-praising Randy.
