Image Credit: Joe Pugliese/BravoBreak out the champagne, because a celebration is in order: Bravo has just announced that Season 4 of The Real Housewives of New York City is set to premiere on April 7. After a long, cold winter brightened only slightly by the epic tragedy of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the shaky start of Real Housewives of Miami, this news couldn’t be more welcome — especially after Bravo crushed us in February by announcing that the net was postponing New York’s premiere.
A new promo, embedded below, makes it seem like this season will probably be worth the wait. Among the highlights: Alex calls Sonja a “thug in a cocktail dress”! The Countess sneers at Alex’s “Herman Munster shoes”! Kelly speaks gibberish! The ladies dress in slutty Marie Antoinette outfits! We also learn that the housewives are taking a trip to Marrakesh, which might be amazing… or might end up echoing the worst things about Sex and the City 2. (And there were a lot of bad things about Sex and the City 2.) In any case, my appetite has definitely been whetted.
What are you looking forward to seeing most, New York Housewives fans?
It looks like Alex is trying to become the Bethenny of this season. Also, the SATC2 homage is depressing, but I’m totally going to watch this season.
I will definitely miss Bethenny. Hopefully one of the new housewives has a mouth on her. Can hardly wait!

I totally agree with you. NY has run its course. These women are no longer interesting. If Bravo wants to keep it, they should introduce a new set of housewives instead of these boring old hags.
How could you forget Real Housewives of Atlanta? They just aired the reunion shows a few weeks ago. Kim, Nene, Khandi… do any of these names ring a bell? RHOA can go up against any of the other Housewives shows and give them a run for their money.

Iam so disappointed that Kelly is going to be back this year. She is a total Nutcase! She controdicts herself every time she speaks.I mute my TV when she speaks beause I cannot stand to hear her voice, and Jyl is just as bad!

It would be interesting if Bethany were to come back and put Sonja and LuAnn in their place. That comment of Sonja’s, telling the newcomer
“there is a pecking order you know”was just too much, not unlike everything else she’s done this season!

Ramona needs professional help. She creates too many public scenes and absolutely has no manners. What do you expect from a rag picker, which is what her line of work really is. She also has no idea about how her wine is produced. She should sell it in a box.
I like Luann the best. She does not engage in public displays of inappropriate behavior. However, I do wish she spent more time nurturing and supervising her children. They are at an age where they need her more than ever.
As for Sonja, she is to be pitied.
These women are a bunch of classic narcissists that the producers exploit … because they are exploitable. If I didn’t have to watch the show (the focus of my Masters Thesis is ‘the dynamics of malignant narcissism’) I wouldn’t watch this trash. They are only adding to ‘the narcissism epidemic’ in this country … not a good thing. Once I get through a few more episodes I’ll be done with them. So far, I managed to get through 5 episodes. For every person who watches the show — you are ‘casting a vote’ for this type of TV crapola. If no one watched this trash, it wouldn’t air.
