Pauly D inks series option deal with MTV. Which 'Jersey Shore' cast member would you rather see a show about?

Pauly-DImage Credit: Scott Gries/Picture Group/MTVStart fist-pumping, Jersey Shore fans: MTV announced that it has locked a series option deal with cast member Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio. According to a release, 495 Productions has already shot a pilot presentation centered on the reality star, known for his immobile hairstyle and impressive creeping skills. “At the heart of Jersey Shore is the unique and genuine cast and Pauly D truly embodies both qualities,” Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Productions at MTV Chris Linn said in the release. “He’s distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed, and dependable guy you can’t help but want to hang out with. We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that.” (By “unique” and “genuine,” I’m sure Linn means “oily” and “wow, that guy’s back tattoo is just too much.”)

I’m not surprised that a Jersey Shore cast member has inked an option deal, but, admittedly, I’m surprised Pauly D was the first. Sure, the DJ is not the most soul-sucking of characters real-life people on the show, but, surely, viewers are more interested in a show focusing on how JWoww’s breasts manage to defy gravity. (MythBusters, get on that!)

Pauly gets my vote for “least number of Massengail Moments” which, by default, means he deserves a show above all the rest.

  • silverrose

wheres the none of the above option

In the blog not about Jersey Shore spin-offs. Der.

I’m pretty sure that is covered by the – Ouch! I just stabbed myself in the eye with a pencil rather than watch it – option…

  • natalie

id watch pauly d and snooki! they should have vinnie do a love show…

    • yeah, right

sure. they could call it “Who Wants Herpes?”

seriously. it’s really sad these idiots don’t realize that the only thing they are going to have when their “fame” is over and everyone has moved on to the next freak show is the shame of being themselves. they will probably squander any money they are making now and will only have entitled spoiled attitudes and arrest records to show on their resume. what self respecting person would ever be in a relationship with any of these fools? and what serious employer would ever hire one of them. live it up, jersey shore boys and girls, now while you can. Your future looks bleak. I’m looking forward to the guilty pleasure of watching your downfall in a True Hollywood Story episode in five to ten years. Hopefully it will air right after the one with the people from the Hills, Laguna Beach, etc…

Sounds like someone is jealous… Seriously if you think you’ve got it so much better than them why all the hate? Can’t keep to yourself huh? You act like these people are ruining your own life.

      • etm

“yeah, right” hit the nail on the head!! Why would you even suggest he’s jealous? Someone can dislike something without being jealous or a “hater”. Michael neither acted like he’s got it so much better, nor acted like they are ruining his life.

  • i would like to see a show where we see their fifteen minutes end and how they have the ability to do nothing so can’t get jobs. mtv pays for them all to open a strip joint and they all have to make it on their meager tips. (yes the guys have to ‘dance’ on guys night). and then we all laugh as they have to make nice to all the drunk a holes that come in to laugh at em. the final episode? where snooki gets arrested for going to far in the champagne room…

Hell is freezing over a little bit faster.

I would totally watch a j-woww/snooki reality show. Don’t care about the rest

  • Memi

Let’s be honest the male cast members all ride the coat tails of The Situation. Pauly D is only interesting when he’s with the rest of the cast. I could see Mike, Snookie, or Jwoww possibly branching out. Pauly D? Not so much.

  • tomm

He needs to change his hairstyle, or else end up ‘dated’ in a year.

Also, since Pauly is a DJ, he can sell more music [songs on display] on MTV.

  • Jem

the success of Jersey Shore is due to the clashing personalities. I like Pauly D, but only when he’s with the other housemates. He would probably be quite boring on his own.

I find it interesting that Ronnie has the least number of votes. I agree though, he’s extremely boring. All he does is (fake) laugh at unfunny things because he never has anything to say.

I agree with the above posters, a Snooki/J-Woww reality shows would be the best bet, with occasional appearances from Mike.

  • etm

I think Pauly D is the only somewhat likeable one of the bunch. Snookie makes my skin crawl, J-Woww’s tough girl act is annoying and the rest are just boring. The Situation is OK sometimes.

  • How High

Shhhhh. . . Did you hear that? It’s the sound of the continuing collapse of western culture and civilization.

  • SLB

Haven’t we been punished enough with the idiots.

    • Steve

Don’t worry, nobody will make you watch.

  • Shamus N.

The only thing I want to see on MTV is music videos.
