Michael C. Hall sings a 'Dexter' Christmas carol -- and says he's 'open' to being on 'Glee'

Michael C. Hall was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, where he chitchatted about Dexter and sang a song. Dexter! Singing! And wearing adorable striped socks. Also, he said he’d be open to being on Glee, so, let’s make that happen, please, powers that be. I would watch the hell out of that.

More of the interview:

On the one hand, I can’t wait for this season’s finale, because Dexter finales tend to be awesome. On the other, though, I still feel like this season has a lot more story to tell. I am torn!

What about you, PopWatchers?

    Don’t do it Michael…

  • Tim

Like to see someone try and throw a slushy in Dexter’s face

    • TGS

Haha, OMG. I can totally see him looking for DNA in football players’ lockers to figure out if they’re really, for sure guilty, and then sneaking up on them and sedating them and then… wait… no, that would be bad.

  • Jay

    NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Mr. Hall… if you reduce yourself to appearing on Glee I will lose all respect for you

  • Ole C

He actually has a pretty decent singing voice! Who would’ve thunk? ;P

I would rather see him doing a Dexter musical episode than doing an episode of Glee..

    • TLZ

Dexter: The All Singing Episode. Get Joss whedon in on this.

      • Aaron

That could be interesting wonder if anyone else on the show could sing. Imagine them having Deb sing a profanity laced song.

      • JC

I am surprisingly in favor of this idea. I think it would be hilarious. Buffy and Fringe have done it. Didn’t see the Buffy one but saw the Fringe one and it was hilarious, especially considering that it was Walter’s drug-induced visualization of a made-up story he was telling to a small child. Something similar could be done with Dexter.

    • Rob

Um, anyone who’s seen him on Broadway and/or saw Six Feet Under.

      • tracy bluth

        Yeah, true.

      • elena

Wait, he sang on Six Feet Under?! When did this happen?

      • Mr. Holloway

        @ elena

There was at least one dream/musical sequence in season 1, that was particularly hilarious.

Then there was the time around season 4 when David joined a gay men’s choir.

    • Jen

Who’d of thunk? Anyone who watched Six Feet Under. And anyone who is remotely a fan of Michael C. Hall, since he’s been on Broadway for years.

    • Roger

Hall was a song and dance guy on broadway. He was in “Chicago” and many other musicals.

  • Well

I am in love with MCH. Please do NOT do Glee. PLEASE. DO. NOT. DO. GLEE. Your understated cool and quirky adorableness will be compromised!!!

  • whoopseedaisy

“We’re sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed within the United States.”

I soooo love it when you post videos that I can’t watch. AWESOME.

    • Steph

      Ugh, tell me about it!!!!

  • Zo

Um, fellow posters, Michael had a whole career before he was “Dexter.” That he is multi-faceted shouldn’t be a shock. He was in multiple Broadway shows. Played a gay, men’s-chorus singing undertaker in “Six Feet Under” for six seasons. He PLAYS Dexter. But he has a huge musical-theatre background, which is why “Glee” makes some sense.

    • Rita

      Ditto..Zo

    • cruzilla

You could have just as easily started that sentence “um, EW writers…” It is baffling how little these writers know about the entertainment industry.

    • MixxyLion

I’ve actually been telling people for a while that I would love to see him make a guest appearance on Glee.

      • suebrody

Would love to see him on Glee. Bring on actors who can actually sing and dance and aren’t just there for ego…(Katie Courac, looking at you).

    • Double G

Not to nitpick but Six Feet Under was five seasons not six. Amazing show.

  • Jules

Saw him on Broadway as the Emcee in Cabaret! He was fabulous! Love him!

    • tracy bluth

I really wanted to see him in that!!

    • Fireflystare221

I literally can’t imagine how awesome that must have been.

  • gah

he looks so good. i’m glad he is in recovery. he is amazingly talented when you look at his past work. sooooo sad this season is almost over.

  • christine

can they figure out how he bring along his old “6 ft under” co-star, Rachel Griffiths? because i’d watch the hell outta that! (i’ve been dying for them to reunite her with Toni Collette on Glee since day 1, but seriously am o.k. with MCH too)

  • tracy bluth

I actually gave up on Glee but I would TOTALLY watch it if MCH was on.

  • Ben

Maybe Glee can do a Dexter themed episode. I’d love to see Dexter inject Sue in the neck and do his saran wrap routine on her. Of course, he’d probably want to kill about half of the cast leading off with Sue and Rachel.

  • S

lol MCH is the best. I liked his version of the song. I always did think he had a nice voice. He did some singing on ‘Six Feet Under’ and it fit so maybe they could figure something out to do it on ‘Dexter’ and yeah it be pretty funny to see Deb singing with some profanity in it.

  • Fireflystare221

…And my crush on Michael C. Hall intensifies. There is something so charming about him! He makes me swoon. <3

  • Rebecca

He can appear on Glee…. but only if it involves killing the whole cast.

    • KarenO

      That is hilarious!
