Image Credit: Stan Osolinski/Getty ImagesMozilla Firefox finally wants you to know that firefoxes actually do exist — they’re red pandas — and have come up with the cutest way to show off the inspiration behind their mascot… while getting you to download a software upgrade.
Head over to FirefoxLive.org, and you can view a 24-hour stream of the red panda cubs, along with their parents and aunt, going about their days at the Knoxville Zoo in Knoxville, Tenn. The frolic cam is the most entertaining, but if the cubs begin looking bored, there’s a solution: You can to download the latest Mozilla Firefox update. If enough people download the upgrade, the firefoxes get a jungle gym for playtime. How cute would that be?
After you’ve downloaded the upgrade, you can click around the site, learning about the endangered species and how to support both the Knoxville Zoo and red pandas in the wild, through an Adopt a Panda program in Nepal and India. You can even follow the action on Twitter at the @cubcaretaker handle. Warm fuzzies for your Friday afternoon! I wonder how PopWatch can adopt an animal mascot, and which one we should choose.
Have you visited the firefox-cams yet, PopWatchers? Do you think they’re cuter than the puppy cams I’ve grown so used to?

My Firefoxes are Alex Kingston, Gillian Anderson & Julianne Moore.
That’s funny. Well played.
I already have the latest version! Can I still help get the jungle gym? Red pandas have always been one of my favorite animals. I am so excited to learn that the firefox is one of them!
Omg, off to download it right now.
The irony of it all – my daughter loves animal cams so I sent her the link. She has the latest version of Mozilla Firefox…and it won’t open the link.
Same here, I think. “Live stream is off air.”
Boooooo.
It’s fixed. Had a communications error on two of the cams this morning. Sorry about that.
I’ve had a lot of problems with Firefox in the recent past that I am sure is not the company ‘s total fault ( I am on Opera now and must happier ) . I think this is a lovely idea , I never knew firefoxes existed , I thought the name and logo meant red foxes , good going Mozilla , hope the red pandas and firefoxes get all the help they need , I really do , but I am still kind of mad at you for the computer crashes you put me through .
Actually , I should not have scolded the Mozilla Foundation , they are a good group that supports charities , just the Firefox company , my bag .
