Lady Gaga released a video last night urging the Senate to repeal “Don’t-ask, don’t-tell” and putting legislators “on notice.”
“Social repression is currently running rampant in this country,” she said. “We have to end this law because it reinforces discrimination, and it’s setting a bad example.”
Her PSA is linked to the long-awaited Pentagon report, expected to be released this afternoon, that details how changing the anti-gay policy might affect troop readiness and morale.
I love when pop goes political, PopWatchers, and no one does it better than Lady Gaga. Right, PopWatchers and Little Monsters?

No one does it better? Are you sure about that?
Dear Lady Ga-ga –
Please stick to being a freak and don’t try to tell the United States how to run the military. It is not a social experiment – it is the tool we use to defend our country.
I am actually for repealing DADT but this is coming from a nine year Army veteran. Lady Gaga needs to serve before she tells others what they should or should not so.
Maybe she cant under the current law. She’s already on record as being bi-sexual. That qualifies as “telling.”
Currently, thanks to DADT, she can’t.
Yeah, I don’t think one has to serve in the military to recognize and stand against the discrimination going on.
Sure you do if you don’t understand the culture of being in the military and how it would affect members of the services. She would just move on to another cause while those serving would have to deal with the issues she is trying to champion.
That’s a stupid thing to say whether someone likes Gaga or not.
kevcogator, Not serving in the military doesn’t preclude one from having an opinion on ‘Don’t Ask/Tell’ Catherine, You don’t have to be in the army to know when something is discrimination. And more to the point, Secretary Gates has explicitly said that taking a poll of servicemen/women on ‘Don’t Ask’ is beside the point. If the policy disgraces those who are gay and defend our country, it should be repealed.
The job of the military is to protect democracy, not practice it.
AMEN
Is this what she’ll do instead of Twitter?
LADY GAGA FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
I like her
Oh Gaga,
You need to get off the coke before I will ever listen to you, even when we both have the same viewpoint.
As an Army officer I strongly disagree with repealing DADT. I don’t much care for homosexuality. What really motivates my resistance is that American liberals abandoned the military a long time ago and take professional pride in knowing nothing about it. And the only thing that seems to bring out their interest is DADT. Get me some more hetro Democrats in the ranks then repeal DADT. I could learn to deal. Regardless, Lady Gaga is great American. She just wants to help her most ardent fan base and if her motive is naive it’s also pure. And she makes good points. I’m pleased to be one of her fan monsters – even if it’s a dinosaur.
You may not care much for homosexuality, and I may not much care for your stupidity, but neither one of us can prevent the other from serving the country. Grow up and deal with reality.
And calling people stupid on the internet is mature? Or making broad assumptions based on a few lines of text?
Oddly it’s my stupidity that makes DADT so appealing to me. Homosexuality is a problem if a homosexual deliberately does something that embarasses, disgusts, or annoys the other 99% of the troops. Including other homosexuals that take the mission seriously. When detecting a suspected homosexual at least making an attempt to keep behavior in line with good order and discipline, I’ve proven tremendously stupid. And on occasion deaf and dumb too.
Homosexuals are able bodied men and woman that want to fight. Let em.
Yeah let them fight in the “q” bars all they want with all those who adore that lifestyle,Just keep them the hell away fro the mainstream G.I.s .
Cannot believe an OFFICER in the Army ( makes me doubt this being the cas) could/would see GAGA as a great American. She should be named Girl Gag.Certianly “Lady” is elevating her to human level.
everyone is entitled to his/her or its opinion, its easy to talk when its not you in the combat zone i signed but read the rules and was read to abide by them.whats going on now will be why do i have to follow the rules boo hooo,it’s pathetic soon as you share your opinion there ready to banish you out of the kingdom, goofball wants the entire military gay.
if she had her way she make the entire military gay.yeah now they want to legalize them getting hard ons.
