Things are starting to get a little hairy in Round 2 of our Under-appreciated Entertainer of the Year bracket game. Sure, you may be emotionally invested in your Round 1 choices, but how do you choose between a (fictional) husband and wife? A vampire and a (sometimes) vampire hunter? No one said it was easy, PopWatchers, but alas, it must be done.

Let’s begin with movies, where the parental duo of Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci (Easy A) go head-to-head, making this a very difficult decision for a one Ms. Emma Stone. Both have been nominated — and overlooked — by Academy Award voters in the past, but now they have a chance to win their very own Prize To Be Determined Later here at PopWatch. In music, it’s between two young ladies rocking daring ‘dos, as newbies Janelle Monáe and VV Brown, whose debut albums you should have been listening to, take the center ring.
In a TV matchup that may divide friends, families, and even countries, The Vampire Diaries‘ Paul Wesley battles Supernatural hunk Jared Padalecki for the title of most underrated brooding CW star. Over in the land of reality television, are you partial to Wipeout host John Henson and his “big balls”? Or, in a sea of sequins and sparkles, is Tom Bergeron the true hidden gem of Dancing With the Stars?

I don’t understand how Stanley Tucci can even be considered “under appreciated”. He is a pretty big star! I thought this little poll was reserved for those who get small roles in TV shows or little known shows/movies.
I agree. That’s why I chose Patricia Clarkson. Stanley Tucci’s awesome, but I don’t think he’s under-appreciated.
i think the point was they are sooo good that they are not necessarily lauded for their solid consistent work. for instance, no one really goes on and on about Stanley in Julie and Julia, yet he was such an integral part of the flick.
Out of all the movies that he has been in that I have heard of; Julie & Julia, Devil wears Prada, Burlesque, Lovely Bones, Shall We Dance, The Terminal, Kit Kittredge, Maid in Manhatten, and America’s Sweetheart’s; he’s always supporting and never the lead. He is underrated and deserves to be the Lead.
@Liz- check out Big Night. Another great one and he has a leading role. It’s one of his classic roles.
@Liz – Tucci is excewllent as the lead in a wonderful movie called ‘Big Night’, with Tony Shaloub, Alison Janney, Campbell Scott, Ian Holm and Marc Anthony. Check it out – you won’t be disappointed.

I’d say Paul is more underappreciated. At least neither Jensen nor Jared get much notice, Paul is overshadowed by Ian(who is awesome too). Ian is all over the major magazines.

I chose Paul simply because so many of Jared’s fans have been screaming out this year their love of him with the changes to his character on Supernatural. That kind of love says he isn’t that unappreciated.
Totally. Jared isn’t underappreciated to the extent that Paul is, that’s why Paul deserves it more.
Even though Paul and Jared are BOTH underrated for their show, I had to go with Jared since that is the show I watch.
i watch both and it was very difficult.. i ultimately went with jared just cause i’ve loved supernatual longer.. i’m a bigger dean fan than sam though lol

Paul all the way! I love Jared, but I think he’s more appreciated than Paul. Paul is an incredible actor, but doesn’t get the recognition he deserves, IMHO.

paul is fantastic, but not really underrated, V diaries is getting tons of attention. and jared’s been playing a very complex character for 6 seasons now…paul’s got a long way to go before he has to deal with that kind of story arc.

Totally agree. Paul shouid have more attention from press and fans, and of course writers. He deserves to play the best storylines not because I’m a Stefan fan. It’s because Paul is really amazing actor, who can play everything very, very naturally. He makes us believe him.
What is wrong with them?! Paul vs. Jared? This is so unfair to the fans. I adore both of them, but I’m gonna have to vote for Jared. He’s really pulling off the whole soulless thing. Jared really deserves this.
This vote really tormented me, and I still don’t know if I made the right decision, but I ended up going with Paul. I agree that Sam gets underappreciated, but when I dare to venture into the VD fandom it’s all Damon all the time, while Paul has been quietly kicking a** as Stefan the entire time and not getting nearly as much press.
Me too!! I started to worry when I saw the bracket line up last week. Speaking of Sophies Choices. Two of my fav shows and love both characters. Went with Paul because in the last year I thought his acting seemed more believable. Also Ian Somerhalder has gotten sooo much more attention. While Jard often gets overshadowed by Jenson, Jared seems to hold his own. Comeon there all lots of Sam girls, but who really says they are a Stephan fan when Damon is out there.
