Yeah, they have been doing this a lot starting last year. I remember watching the Chex Mix one when that episode was on and just cracking up! Oh, Days.
Wow, those are go so painfully overboard it’s a wonder they still have viewers.
I think they have to do these because they don’t have viewers anymore.

I’m wondering how long its going to be before we revert back to the live commercials from the early days of television. Or things are sponsored like sporting events.

This just goes back to the earliest days of television when the sponsors would have their products mentioned or shown within their programs. The characters drove their sponsors cars and smoked their sponsors cigarettes. (Remember cigarette commercials?)
That’s exactly what I was thinking of actually. My favorites are the I Love Lucy Phillip Morris ones. They were so happy to be smoking! lol
LMAO. These are awesome! No subtlety whatsoever. It’s a mini-commercial in the middle of the scene. This made my morning.
I don’t see the big deal, they have been doing this for years in telenovelas.
When I lived in Mexico I saw this a lot in telenovelas there. It’s unfortunate and so obvious. I’m a little surprised it doesn’t happen more often here in the U.S.
I think it’s hilarious. The King of Queens is a huge offender when it comes to product placement.
Huge fan of Queens and look at them daily. Always fun to point of the strategically placed items.
I think product placement is fine if done correctly… I mean, it makes sense to have products in the show, would you rather they cancel the show instead of throwing in products into the mix?

I’ve loved Days of Our Lives since the glory days of Steve/Kayla, Bo/Hope and John/Marlena back in the mid-80s. With the way soap operas are being cancelled right and left these days, I don’t CARE if DOOL has to resort to clunky product placement from time to time to cover costs. Whatever will keep the show on the air!

I love Days! The fact that they don’t even try to be subtle , make these hysterical. Just like most things on the show, they are awesome and hilarious.

Whatever keeps soaps on the air! ABC soaps do terrible product placements with V8. As a soap fan you wish they could slip it in more naturally.
I agree with Flyer…whatever it takes to cover the costs and Days was just renewed for another 2 years or so. I just wish the writers would come up with something better than a redo of the 1993 burying alive plot. I do like how the plot is giving more airtime to Eric Martsolf (Eric). Jennifer’s also back…yay!
But without Jack, so it’s pointless.
