Image Credit: Scott GarfieldGwyneth Paltrow will be singing Cee Lo Green’s “F— You” on Glee in two weeks, Fox confirmed. I maintain this is a better song for Mr. Schue, but I’m officially curious. Perhaps it will be country strong!
The song is going to be sanitized to “Forget You,” which is so substantially less catchy, and seeing the world’s poshest human sing about not being able to afford a Ferrari will provide some interesting cultural dissonance. But there’s a part of me that thinks this could be kind of adorable? If she is all sassy and campy about it? And it’s sort of joke-y? Hm.
Okay, Gleeky PopWatchers: Do you pity the foo-ool who falls in love with this?

Yay! It’s GLEE-ful Wednesday at EW.com, even without a new episode.
Finally! Some Glee news!!!!
I know! They practically never cover this show.
Seriously? This sounds dumb. I’m really disappointed with Glee this season.
I agree. Quite a few of the episodes this season are failing to grab my attention as much as last season’s.
I’m seriously considering breaking up with the show, which is a shame considering how much I enjoyed most of Season 1.
I’m defnitely considering the same thing, I might have to declare my relationship with Glee over, unfortunately its crossed over from the realm of hilarious, biting social satire to cheesy afterschool special
it has always been cheesy after-school special, you’re the dolt for trying to make it more than it was.
I love Glee. I love Rocky Horror. Scratch that. I love love love love am bosessed with omg awesome Rocky horror. However, for instance I hated the RHPS/Glee episode. Same boat with you Alia.
this is stupid
Glee has jumped the shark… creatively. Ratings wise its obviously a hit, which is a shame because it only means they will continue along the lines of these really bad plots, gimmicks and stunt casting.
I actually think it would be sorta funny if “paltrowed” became the new “jumped the shark.”
DEFINITELY.
and so fitting!!!
What is it going to take to make that irritating woman go away for good?
I agree — can’t stand GP, and I’m sorry that she will be infecting one of my fave shows.
I agree. She’s annoying. Why does she suddenly think shes a real country star anyway? I thought she was British now!
I think “jump the shark” could be the most overly used phrase in the English language.
I concur.
Yep. That phrase has officially jumped the shark.
actually i think that saying jumped the shark has jumped the sharked has officially jumped the shark if you ask me
How about everyone just agrees to stop using the phrase “jump the shark” in any shape, way or form?
How about at the end of the day we take “jump the shark” and throw it under the bus? THAT’s what I’m talkin’ about.
how about we take “jump the shark” and throw it under the bus then vote it off the island as we scream “auf wiedersehen”
So what will we say instead of “jump the shark” when a show has “jumped the shark?”
Although “Jumped the Shark” has jumped the shark… I agree that Glee had Jumped the Shark.
absolutely. Glee is pulling a Paltrow on this one.
I love the song and like Paltrow, but I hate the idea of them together :p
Please don’t feed the Paltrow Ego Beast. She moved to England – she needs to stay there.
Hahahahaha!!! The Paltrow Ego Beast!! That sounds like an upcoming parody on South Park. Awesome!
<3
Win!
Glee is the worst.
YAY! but yeah, it is really a perfect song for Schue!
love paltrow. glee is getting suckier and suckier. not because of paltrow! for weeks i’ve seen 5 min. of glee and switched channels.
I’ve been disappointed with Glee this season as well, but using the phrase “suckier and suckier” doesn’t help your cause.
Glee has to quit focusing on celebrity guest stars and get back to the show it was. There’s been no character development at all this season because they are so focused in building episodes around their guest stars.
a frickin MEN I love Glee. I am a fan but there is no story. They need to stop shoving morality down my throat too. This is entertainment and I am not entertained. I find it all too hokey.
Mike Chang’s character has developed.
Big whoop.
Yay! for Gwyneth!
Glee is giving its viewers less and less, believing its own PR. It’s the story, stupid. Not how many guest stars you can dump into an episode. Best part about the RHPS eppy was the cameos of Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick. Refreshing to have Mike Chang come in and tell Mr. Shue that his parents read the script and wouldn’t let him perform. Get back to what made the show great. Music with a heartfelt story line. This appears to be the year to kiss your reflections in the mirror. Keep it up and no one will watch.
“It’s the story, stupid. Not how many guest stars you can dump into an episode. Best part about the RHPS eppy was the cameos of Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick.”
These statements appear to be contradictory, but I agree. Write the story, then add songs. I did like the fact that Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick were in the episode, particularly since I didn’t know they were going to be in it.
So true. I miss the high school story lines. I miss Mr. S’s goofy family–but not the horrible wife. Other than dating the new cutie, there’s been nothing about Quinn’s life after baby. Or Rachel’s dads. How’s Curt’s dad doing? I miss knowing the characters. Watching Britney redo Britney videos doesn’t do it for me. I miss the surprising songs as well-Don’t Stop Believing, Don’t Rain On My Parade. Both initially happy surprises.
I could not be any less excited about her being on Glee
ohh yeah! much better if they will just focus in their life inside the campus coz we are all getting bored everytime we watched guest stars that were not connected in the high school life. I enjoyed the episode 1 because of charice pempengco though and am very xcited to see rachel and sunshine competing!
